I’m not sure if this will resonate with you but this is something that has fully changed the way I start tasks! (learned this from my therapist btw) When I ask myself why I’m feeling resistance and the response is “I don’t want to do the task” I then ask myself if I’m “willing to” and most of the time the answer is yes! Unfortunately most things in life I don’t want to do lol but I’m more than willing to do it if it aligns with my values and creating a life I want to live! Similarly but different my friend likes to say “it’s not a lack of motivation it’s a lack of momentum.” Hope you are able to get out of your rut soon

Hannah, in response to the embarrassment you feel about not contacting therapists, don’t feel embarrassed. Going to therapy is so hard, and the decision to do so is one if the hardest steps to healing. Therapists are used to getting ghosted in the beginning, and they understand. You’re one of my favorite content creators because I see a lot of myself in you. Thank you for your candor and I hope the best for you💜

You don't need to be embarassed it's very normal to feel discomfort and overwhelming at the beginning, the difficult part is to start because you think over it so much that you're afraid to face it, to feel it and sometimes even fail, you just want to escape it. Therapy is important, you'll never feel ready and you'll postpone it every time you think about it, but at a certain point you just do it even if forcefully and then it becomes easier. TRUST ME ! YOU CAN DO IT! ❤💪

Girl, starting therapy IS that deep! It's intimidating! You're starting it because you want to do the work but that also means you know it's gonna be work 😅❤ I put off therapy for a long time, but found it easier to get started when I was on an upswing. Then it felt more like a self-care/setting future me up thing instead of a "oh look at me, I need therapy" negative self-talk thing. 🤷❤

Omg I totally get that struggle of letting yourself go out and spend with friends but it gets soooooo expensive! Drinks are like $16-$20 each. I've started hosting happy hours at my apartment to save me and my friends so much money, but I get how it's so fun to go out on the town

I’m honestly the same when it comes to therapy. I’ve had appointments set up but the anxiety of talking about everything makes me anxious and I just cancel it or don’t show up. 😕 . I need to get my sh- together.

Hi Hannah. Pro tip… when your Swifter wet mop sheets dry out spray it with a little water then spray with your favorite cleaner. If it’s an all-purpose one it’ll work. Don’t throw them away! Any cleaning advice just ask. I’m the Queen if clean! 😀👍🧹🧺🪣🧼🧽😅

Good on you for checking your finances! It’s such an important part of self care. I know it can be a little uncomfortable when you’re not used to it, but there’s a lot of freedom in having more control over your money. Plus I try to make it fun! Make a colorful budget spreadsheet or paper template. Pretend you’re an accountant or teacher grading papers like when you were a little kid. 🤓😄

The irony of not being able to follow up with the potential therapists is that that’s something you can talk about in therapy 😂 the willfulness that you feel because you don’t want to talk to them or respond to them is totally normal, but the advice I have from being in therapy for five years is to just bite the bullet and do it. You don’t have to answer all of them at once, you can do one a day or something, but it will be worth it in the end when you find someone that you vibe with and can help you ❤

Hey hannah! Lovely video 😊 it’s interesting to see these types of goals and the progress we make on them. I find the goals of influencers/youtubers particularly interesting cause i feel like they are often related to scheduling and self discipline. I feel like a ‘normal’ 9-5 job seems like an easy solution to these goals even though us 9-5’ers are aiming to have a job with more freedom in our schedule. I think it just shows grass is always greener on the other side

Hi! Just wanted to say that I’m a counselor in training and I want you to know that it may be hard to reach out to a therapist at first but it’s totally worth it! I was the same way when I met my current therapist but now I look forward to talking to her every week. She’s been my rock! I decided to go into counseling and help other people since knowing her. Also love your videos Hannah! I started watching your videos when you talked about transferring colleges. You helped me make the decision to switch to a new school. I’ve watched every video since!

hannah, thank u for your honesty. training therapist here, been watching your vlogs for a while now and totally see why you would have stress from following thru with a therapist, its a huge deal and its true that its resistance. maybe ask yourself/journal on what you're afraid of/worried about with starting therapy? i promise that therapy could be a beneficial and safe space for you, the anxiety of initial sessions will be so worth it in the long run!! best of luck

It is really understandable you are procrastinating this, because it is just really scary and confronting to open yourself up to a professional about mental health issues. The idea of going to therapy affects each one of us in different ways. Don't look at it as "not that deep" when clearly it's a big step for you to take and I'm sure you have your reasons. But remember that therapy is there to help exactly with those kinda of thoughts that hold u back from doing what YOU KNOW will help you.

Hannah, I don't know if this is confirmation bias or not but some of the things you say resonate with me and I have ADHD. I'm not a psychologist by any means but I think getting back to one of those therapists and talking about things you struggle with would be very beneficial

I have a theory that 90% of vloggers have ADHD. It is a specific skill set and personality that wants to do that. ❤ I've seen many many vloggers get diagnosed along the way (often because viewers mention the possibility). I actually assume vloggers have ADHD now, but not all of them know or are diagnosed. I was diagnosed at 21, 15 years ago and life got so much easier with the years because of understanding myself and better support. I wish we all get that and stop shaming ourselves for not being neurotypical. It's internalized ableism. ❤

Take it from someone who’s been in it for years and am working to get out of it. Not a negative comment just love your personality love your content and would hate to see the mental health deteriorate like mine and other people I’ve worked with due to corporate.
