I started T Oct 27. I’m non-binary but I lied to the clinic and said I was a man because I didn’t want to take a chance. That’s cool that you’re getting T too. It’s awesome to hear about other nb that are interested in HRT but no bottom dysphoria.

wow, that's pretty recent! congrats! how has T been for you thus far....? only answer if you don't mind sharing, because i understand if you would rather not. but yeah, bottom dysphoria? that's one thing that i fortunately have not had to deal with.

I finally have some time to kick back and watch this series. I love your transparency and honesty about your journey. I've watched many friends transition. Some talk about it, some don't. But I've had the privilege of witnessing their transformations. Now: About that facial hair... Its ok, there are things like Electrolysis to rid yourself of the growth. And other ways. Being mis-gendered as a non-binary: My least favorite way of being addressed when my spouse and I are out is "Have a good day Ladies" OMG My shackles raise and I just want to hiss at everyone. I've been mis-gendered since I was little. I once got into an argument with someone at the age of 7 or 8 that I was a girl not a boy (this was before I knew I could declare I was neither). He wanted me to "prove" it...(can you guess how?) I go by he not they. So, I'm more on the masculine side. You seem to be androgynous. And folks are going to shove you into whatever box they can put you in. I've lived this my entire life (56 almost 57). So, maybe rethink how you feel about those labels. Be a bit more gentle when thinking about how older people are going to react to you. I had a conversation with a friend a couple weeks ago about gender identity/expression, and I told them about you. They are slightly older than I am. They want the safety of labels. Its a thing. And of course they were slightly horrified that someone would be that public about a private matter. Remembering to call my spouse they, and getting the family to participate in the change of language is hard hard hard AF! Their mom has said that that is their daughter and they will call her she. Ok, that's the mom... So that's just a little bit of input. Not any kind of lecturing. Just part of my journey. I really like what you are saying in this series. And seriously, your transformation has been amazing. Those old clips are astounding! I also don't like looking back at old material I recorded with me in it. But I just had a realization. I need to put up the video I made a long time ago about when I got my first buzz cut. It was after my mother died, and it felt really good to shave all that hair off. I still get called SHE. Bleh! The video is from 2004 (?) OMG PRE-KZbin! Thanks for sharing your journey! Peace...

I saw your tweet about this last week. Definitely can't wait for the other parts and to share these vids. Korea I learned recently is pretty similar. Maybe worse.

I want a Hysterectomy SOOO bad. I've searched it steadily for a year. I'm gonna do it! I am planning to start the process soon. Thanks for being open about your experience. :)
@QueerAsCat7 жыл бұрын
good luck!!! to be honest, i want a hysterectomy far more urgently than i want HRT, it's just that HRT is accessible to me right now and a hysterectomy is not, so.... sigh! gotta do what i can. really hope that you can get a hysterectomy and it all goes well for you. :)

I doubt Finland is any better with these things (unfortunately), might even be worse (since there's only one way to go and the waiting lists are huge, the same long testing phase and even awkward sex questions every time + if you're nb and don't want to lie there's only 1 doctor in the whole country who might do any surgery for you with the different diagnosis.. etc). I'm glad you're sharing your journey here on KZbin! I'm curious and excited to hear more, and really glad you decided to pursue this since it's been on your mind for so long. I hope it goes well. :)

thanks. :) i've heard that there are usually waiting lines in Japan as well because so few doctors in Japan even perform gender reaffirming surgeries. :/ that, plus the astronomical price, are some of the reasons why the vast majority go to Thailand to get things done rather than have it done in Japan and save thousands by doing so. ridiculous....

Thank you for the video. Sending you best wishes, quite a lot going on but I'm really happy to see you sharing it and providing such great information.

the hysterectomy thing is a Mood but they're so difficult to get in the US unless you have like a serious medical condition. Glad to hear you're doing well- good luck w everything
@QueerAsCat7 жыл бұрын
thanks! but yeah, in Japan no doctor will even consider giving anyone a hysterectomy unless a very serious / fatal medical condition is involved or you're beyond child-bearing age anyway. ugh.

i'm happy to hear that you've found a way to get HRT, even though you had to go through so many stressful and difficult situations to get there. where i live, sweden, you first have to get referred to one of four places in the country that can give the diagnosis, and only one of the four acknowledges non-binary people. the waiting list for your first appointment is around 12-24 months, and then the whole psychiatric evaluation takes at least a year before you get you diagnosis. Once you have it they can refer you to HRT or surgery, and ofcourse there's a waiting list for those as well. so... patience is really something you have to learn when trying to get treatment i guess. (don't get me wrong, i'm extremely grateful to live in a place where all of this exists, even though it's complicated. just frustrating, ya know?) anyways i've successfully jumped through all the hoops and will probably have my top surgery in february or march.... looking forward to seeing your other videos on this, and more updates when you start hrt!!
@QueerAsCat7 жыл бұрын
daaaammnnn...... so the whole process can take over 2 years? do they not even take into consideration that some people literally cannot wait that long?? geez.... nothing but props to you for having navigated all of that and now you're so close to top surgery...! that's awesome! speaking of future videos, i'm definitely going to check out yours. thanks! :)
@ZiggiWillpower7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, my process was considered extremely short, "only" 1 year from my first referral to being put on the waiting list for top surgery (well 2 years total if you also count the time I've waited for surgery). But it's getting really close... Looking forward to seeing your updates on t, I'm still not decided on whether hrt is something I wanna get into, so it's always nice to see other nb people's experience! xoxo

being waitlisted for surgery seems like such a nightmare to me.... then again, i've never had a surgery and i've never been waitlisted for any sort of life changing thing, so yeah. my imagination may be running wild with me. either way, it's awesome that you're so close to getting it now. best wishes with whatever you decide to pursue or not pursue going forward.
@Antony_Oscar5 жыл бұрын
Same in Finland, except we've got only two clinics. The waiting is about the same and the waiting lists have just stretched and stretched altely because more people seek treatment but the resources are the same.

Happy to see back again. I started HRT in september (montreal is easier) I lived 4 years in China and I know a bit how it works overthere and wow, happy for you to have found a easier way. Can't wait to see the next videos. Take care and hello to Calcifer ♥

(belated) congrats on starting HRT! how has it been for you thus far? just curious. please feel free not to answer if you dont want to. either way, i hope that it's going well for you; glad to hear that Montreal is easier than Japan. Calcifer and i wish you the best.

The changes has been amazing so far. The mental change far outweitght the physical one (Boobs growing quite fast and slight fat redistribution, mostly seeing in myface) I feel great with myself, feel way happier overall. I feel like a new person entirely and everyone close to me can attest to that. I'm like a little sun walking around instead of being the gloomy person that I was at the beginning of 2017. I would never go back haha. It's been awesome journey thus far and I'm quite optimistic toward the future with this new relationship with myself.
@QueerAsCat7 жыл бұрын
that sounds absolutely wonderful. i'm so happy for you! and to think that such a change has happened in such a relatively short amount of time. i hope your journey continues to be awesome. :)

the whole process sounds like here in germany as well, and has stopped me from "transitioning" in any way. Name change to something ambiguous is also impossible as its not on the "list of allowed names" lol.
