I cut my hair short three years ago and it basically changed my life, I get how important it can be, how strange and freeing it is at the same time. Also, you look good ! I like your piercings :)

My first thoughts on the glasses were ‘meh’ but seeing them in the light at the end with the new hair. 👌🏼 You got that look on lock. So happy for you! Congrats on the new job. Wishing you all the best as you start this new chapter in your life. xoxoxo

I recognize you! But yes, it's a big difference. Enjoy the weightless feeling! I once cut my hair from almost elbow length and swore I'd never go back just for the convience. But yours looked good both ways! I haven't watched your videos in a while so am glad i caught this one. You look happy. All the best to you!

I'm super happy for you Vesper! I like the new glasses. I don't know if it's the video style change (which was really well done and I enjoyed it a lot!) or what but I feel like you radiate more confidence and self assurance in this video. You seem more at ease in your body. The air on scalp thing is super weird when you first cut your hair short.

You look sooo good?? Love the way your face looks now that it's not framed by the locks, plus the hairstyle and new glasses, it's a super nice look~ As an enby who also cut their hair from long to short a few years back, I so know what you mean with the habits and the relief. I'm also glad people aren't gendering or misgendering you as often!! I hope to get there one day but I'm super happy for you :0
@QueerAsCat5 жыл бұрын
thanks for the kind comments and for sharing your experiences. :) i wont hold my breath hoping that people continue to misgender me less, but i'm hopeful that one day we'll all get closer to being there.

Your face says it all! Makes me happy to see how good you feel. 😊 I relate yo what you said about expecting the hair to still be there, I have the same experience with my chest since I did a breast reduction 2 months ago. It’s very strange 😂

You’re hair is so cool! Also, the last part of the video background was great. I was really excited for the video. When I was 18, over the course of 6 months I went from my hair to being a foot long, to a few inches, to a few cm and then I started shaving my head. It was a strange feeling each time. Granted, I always wanted to shave my head daily and I imagined myself as having no hair. But I still get bad dreams, 4 years later of me having long hair which is weird. I luckily don’t have it so often. Also, I got all of my haircuts at college in my senior year of high school. So I didn’t have to deal with the judgey rich high schoolers which was nice.
@QueerAsCat5 жыл бұрын
thanks! it was nice trying something new with this video. :) it's interesting hearing about your experience with your hair, so thank you for sharing. i'm glad that it's (mostly?) gone well for you. i get the feeling that once i start shaving my own hair, it's going to become a bit... addicting? like being drunk on the power that a shaver affords me. lolol but anyway, thanks again and best wishes to you.

I love your new hair! So cool! Hair is a big deal... Love the vlogy video style as well. Do you prefer people calling you by your name or asking you for your pronouns? I’m asking apropos what you talked about in the interview. Congrats on new hair, new city, new job!
@QueerAsCat5 жыл бұрын
thanks! it was nice to experiment with something new while editing, even if it was a pain at times. as for name vs pronouns, i have no preference really. for me, people using my (chosen) name is just as empowering as them using my (chosen) pronouns, and in the absence of most people being familiar with the usage of neutral pronouns, them just using my name is a nice, safe alternative that i appreciate them using when they do.

Congrats! I like that haircut! A big chop is so fun. Question though, as a non binary person do you like it when people try to avoid gendered language talking to you? I feel like i would try to do that but i wonder if its useful at all
@QueerAsCat5 жыл бұрын
thanks. :) personally speaking, i very much prefer gender neutral language in reference to myself as gendered language is more than just annoying, it can trigger dysphoria and / or depression (among other things) for me. even if a person slips up and makes mistakes, i very much appreciate the consideration and effort of them trying.
