This short and easy Qigong sequence includes qigong body tapping and exercises that help to stretch the chest and arms, stimulate the lung meridian and improve circulation so we can take fuller, deeper breaths. This is good for people who are suffering from a dry cough or cold, bronchitis or quitting smoking to help your lungs release toxins and heal. Practice it for 5 minutes or as part of your daily Qigong routine.

I was diagnosed with Covid today. I have a very tight chest, pleurisy type pain and exhausted. I don't want to be admitted into hospital. I've looked at some recent research which has suggested improvements through large Vit D doses and deep breathing exercises. I've had the Vit D and I've just done this activity. It was just right i.e. manageable as I didn't have to move around much. I feel back in control, lighter and calmer about things. I will do this a few times a day when it starts to feel like an elephant is sat on my chest again. Thank you for posting and giving free access to this technique to anyone who needs it.

I meant a spring,summer,autumn and winter qigong practice. This one is for the autumn/lungs can we do the other areas of the body that relate to the seasons if there are specific sequences? 🙏🌺

Lucy and I really like this variation to Pulling the Bow from 8 Brocades. It increases the range of shoulder movement and adds an interesting twist to stretching out the shoulder. One of the reasons we have gotten so interested in Qi Gong exercise is the multitude of variations in this ancient exercise practice. You are so fortunate to have grown up with a Mom that has Tai Chi and Qi Gong expertise. I appreciate the information you provided concerning the health benefits to your routines. I know absolutely nothing about that aspect of Qi Gong. As a retired physical education teacher I understand more about muscle toning, balance and extending range of motion. I'm learning more about the importance of increasing the blood flow to all parts of the body. Thank you for your diligence to provide healthful exercises to people all over the world. Do you have a name for this exercise, or should I just call it a Pulling the Bow variation?
