Ciao Kseny! I've been practicing the Yi Jin Jing movements on your membership site. I just came across this video you did in 2019. These moves were different. I'd like to learn them with more guided instruction. Perhaps you could incorporate these moves into our Sunday Zoom classes as I think the other members would like to learn them, too! Thanks!

Hi, I'm definitely putting this video in my favorites as well. The different movements put a good stretch through my entire body. I am sure it must be great for joints and tendons. I really collected some chi. Thank you so much for the video.

This is a lovely routine but, for those unfamiliar with the movements corresponding to the words on the screen, it is difficult to watch and do the movements at the same time. Spoken movement and breathing instructions would be appreciated.

I'm guessing you guys are commenting after watching the video once or twice. It's not like it's a constant dialogue or anything; each section just has different names. If you practice with the video for a week or two, you will automatically have already "imprinted" them on your mind and whether or not you actually need to remember them ultimately depends if you want to be a teacher. I say this as a Tai Chi instructor myself and as alternative feedback for Kseny - I think the videos are perfect and it was largely thanks to Kseny, Amanda Flood and Mimi Kuo Deemer that I was able to become a master after losing touch with my original master in 2004 - I didn't practice for 17 years until I became very sick and then I followed these ladies' videos and practiced intensely for six months. For the Tai Chi form I found many Yang style teachers but because I don't really want to go into the martial side, I'm happy to practice a short "8 movements" form. I never believed you could become a master this way but believe me, if you practice Tai Chi, and it feels like you're "swimming in wet concrete," 😂, you're doing it right. But again, it was thanks to hard practice and the wonderful videos of Kseny, and the others. Amanda Flood, for example, is wonderful, but there's zero talking in her videos. I used to believe that you couldn't learn Tai Chi from a book, (or become a master, even less), but with KZbin maybe it will be different. One thing is FUNDAMENTAL though: Standing or "Zhan Zhuang," - when you can stand still for an hour, nice and relaxed, then your Tai Chi and Chi Gong will be good. Thank you Kseny, sorry for talking so much but I love you and your videos have really helped me.

This will be my go-to as well! Nice music, scenery, reminders to inhale/exhale (I do forget, especially when learning a new routine), great names for the different forms, and a total body stretch that energizes in a mellow way. And of course, your usual gracefulness as you move---have you always moved so well or did qi gong develop this? Thanks so much for all you do. You are a terrific qi gong ambassador.

This is also my go-to as a quick practice for relaxing my body after many hours at work. Thanks for your great videos 🙏 Can see there are many comments about missing voice instructions, but I actually appreciate this. This gives one a chance also to practice the mental part just going with the flow and not thinking. An important and often overlooked aspect of one of the benefits with qi-gong and Thai Chi. And learning should be done step by step, this is also how one learn forms in Thai chi. Practice each sequence at a time and master it - then continue with the next one. PS the music in this is wonderfull, who plays the piano and whatˋ the name of the song ?

Hi Michael, thank you for taking the time to write. I'm glad you enjoy this follow along routine and it help you relax. It's always a trade isn't it, verbal vs non-verbal. Chinese masters that I was lucky to learn from would often teach by showing the movement. The student is there to observe and master it through personal practice. However, when you are just starting out it can be very beneficial to have the guidance in a form of verbal instructions. Have you been practicing Tai Chi?
@michaeljrgensen7254
@michaeljrgensen7254 3 жыл бұрын
@@qigongwithkseny Hi And also thanks to you for taking the time to respond. Yes, it's a delicate balance how much to add verbal instructions in a video. Making sure all gets the knowledge on the important details, but also not more than people also get into a good atmosphere while doing and also not getting tired of listening to the voice re-playing the video for the 1000 time... Yes, I'm practicing Thai chi also and are so lucky to have a local (Danish) really skilled after studying for 30 years with diverse Chinese teachers. I'm however still a beginner, have been practicing for 4 years. My teacher is very much focusing on having the right structure / posture and learning to do the form correct rather than learning as much as possible as quickly as possible... So have not been practicing push hands. But we use a lot of lot of qi gong as warm up / part of the training and I really feel the benifits from it. Have actually convinced my old parents to start practicing it and the also have gained a lot of mobility and balance back. PS have joined your community, but thanks for offering these short free for all videos, so the message of how good this can be for the common health can be shared...

hi Kseny, good afternoon.. I found this sequence of qi qong movements to be the most difficult and challenging of all your videos. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out if your moving to the right or left and some of these postures are out of my physical capability for the moment. this is a very difficulty qi qong flow for me at this time.... have a wonderful day Ksney... I realize I have a long way to go and a lot of practice to do, peace within, Mark thanks!! namaste

Hi Markus, thank you for sharing your experience. It's ok, don't worry about it. In terms of left/right , feel free to simply mirror me on the screen, all the movements are usually repeated on both sides so you will still get the benefits. This routine is inspired by the Shaolin Qigong hence the range and the movements are more about strengthening the physical body providing a very good workout for all muscle groups. You can choose one of two exercises and practice regularly to improve your range. The most important thing in qigong is to be relaxed and enjoy what you are doing. You will get more benefits if you stay relaxed and consistent than pushing yourself to achieve an external form. I hope this helps. Have a good weekend!

I have read that the general rule for breathing during qigong movement is to inhale when contracting the body and exhale when expanding the body. My movement tends to be slower than my body's need for oxygen, though, and I find myself either tensing to hold my breath when my body is expanded, or "cheating" and taking a shallow breath in/out while expanded to be able to relax while holding the posture for a longer time. Is it better to "cheat" in this way to keep my qigong slow and relaxed, or should I force my movements to match my breath even if that means moving more quickly through the set?
