I just did 4600 struts and mevotech heavy duty coils and it's like a different car when cornering. So freaking worth the headache of buying everything separate and having to use spring compressors to assemble! Gonna do z71 springs, rough country N3 shocks, and probably a small body lift in the back eventually!

Thanks Erik! With only 177k, you have plenty of life remaining. This was a great upgrade for my truck but my suspension was also long overdue for a refresh so it all worked out. I highly recommend all of the parts I went with in this video. I have no complaints. However, my transmission recently went out so I will have to rebuild it. If you enjoyed the trailblazer content. This is awesome! I was about to consider my 03 a parts car because the front end is so wore out it eats tires in 6 months. But the interior is still nice and the engine runs like a champ. All it needs is this video (and some electric work but that's minor).

I never knew that bad suspension eats tires - it's obvious once I think about it - never considered it. I have 7 inches at lowest point on an 04 with 267K. hmmm. I have new tires from a year but you're right - well actually a rear stabilizer rusted out to take out the previous tire. So all 4 got replaced to make sure they were even as they were worn down.

I rebuilt the suspension of my 04 Trailblazer and I just bought the new complete upper and lower control arms, I priced it out that after buying all the parts and how much of a pain changing bushings and ball joints are that it made it worth it. Might as well replace the whole lower arm because the inner mount bushings are probably trashed. You can buy just the bushings if you have a press and you can buy the inner bracket with bushings also. Get the alignment done at a real shop! Must set camber caster! Before towset.
@PASSIONBUILT
@PASSIONBUILT 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips! I got it aligned at a shop I’ve been getting my alignments done for the past 10 years. It’s been a couple months since the alignment and a lot of miles and it’s been driving great. I checked the control arms for play in the bushings when I replaced everything and they didn’t have any play. The previous owner may have replaced them at some point. I’m not sure but will definitely keep an eye on them. Thanks again! 🙂👍🏼

@@PASSIONBUILT good to hear that you checked them that can ruin your tires. Mine had the factory cast iron ones at 211,000 the replacement is made of steel you can tell because the steel ones are welded together and the factory ones are casted one piece. Nice that you got blistein and not Monroe. The shop took 4 hours to fix the alignment because Firestone tried aligning it with just the towe.

Man that song is going hard in these Bose earbuds😂. Seriously tho, new subscriber here. How does it ride with those 4600 Bilsteins? I've got the nickel plated 5100's on my Sierra Z71 and love them! I'm thinking about doing everything you did here to my wife's Envoy XL. We're looking to get a little more lift so we can start taking her Envoy through the 4x4 beach access points throughout the Outter Banks of NC. Those access points tend to be pretty rough & she's sitting low stock. And to make matters worse, she won't let me take off her ugly ass running boards for a bit more clearance either lol😂.

Thanks for subbing man. I appreciate it. It really helps the channel grow. I honestly wanted the 5100s but they were not readily available when I ordered my suspension and I didn’t plan on lifting my trailblazer that high so I also didn’t really need them. But the 4600 series is great. Rides really good. A little stiffer in the front with the Rough Country top hats installed but other than that. I have no complaints. But in all honesty. If you want more ground clearance. You’re going to have to convince the wife to remove those running boards lol

Hey there quick question I recently just bought Bilstien 4600s for my 07 Chevy trailblazer and it says that it’s only for stock height . But I have a 2 1/2 in the front and a 3 inch in the back leveling kit so I just wanted to make sure the bilstien 4600 will go inside no problem?
@PASSIONBUILT
@PASSIONBUILT 2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, Elijah. Honestly the Rough Country 2 inch leveling kit is the safest for the 4600 series. The 5100 series is best for anything more than the 2” leveling kit. I wouldn’t recommend you pairing that kit with your 4600 series struts. If the kit you have is the top hat replacement style like the set I installed. You will have a really stiff front end because of how much preload it will put on your front springs. If the lift kit you ordered bolts on to your factory top hats. Please be careful because those are usually considered “the death lift” as they cause a lot of stress to your other suspension components which could result in catastrophic suspension failure. Also, since you are going above 2” on your lift. It is recommended to flip your upper control arms to help reduce stress on your ball joints. Hope this information helps you! Please subscribe to the channel if you haven’t already 🙂👍🏼

If your Trailblazer makes any noticeable noises when going over bumps or dips. I highly recommend going through your suspension and visually inspecting everything for heavy wear. Honestly with almost 200K. You’re probably due for more than just struts and shocks. But putting your truck on stands and inspecting bushings, balls joints, and end links will be wise. To be honest. Love the 4600 series. But I will probably change the setup when it’s time to replace these shocks. Thinking of upgrading to the 5100 shocks and swapping to the Z71 Tahoe springs and possibly a different spacer kit. The Rough Country kit is alright. But that company is shady. I gave an honest review on their website of the product and they deleted my review. It wasn’t negative. I just mentioned the missing hardware and gave my opinion for long term use with it and they removed the review. I don’t like companies that screen their reviews. It’s shady in my opinion. The reason I’ll be upgrading to z71 Tahoe springs is to help with sag when I’m towing or hauling my motorcycles. The ride will be a little stiffer. But from what I’ve read. Nothing crazy. Hope this helps you!

I read someone lifting the front 2 inches to ease any pressure on the CV joints. Do you think that is necessary? I had vibration before but the wheels got balanced - so that vibration is gone now.
