I loved your genuine reaction. Adam’s voice is literally heavenly. I have never heard anything like him. Many people haven’t heard of Adam, he is so under rated, although by 2023 more people have caught on because he is so special. More Adam!! ❤ They are touring this October, probably the last time. The show is so good. Same guitar player and drummer. Brian May and Roger Taylor. Bringing Adam on with them was definitely a rebirth for them. They have been selling out stadiums for over a decade now. So so good

Yay! Thanks for reacting. Queen are celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year. Bassist John Deacon retired not long after Freddie died. Brian May on guitar and Roger Taylor on drums are both in their early 70s. Brian says he thinks he's playing better now than ever and considered one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time! With Adam they've performed to over 4 million fans over the last nine years. They had just finished a tour of Asia, NZ and Australia just before the pandemic. Last summer they were to perform in the UK and Europe but had to cancel. It was pushed to Summer 2021 and then pushed back to next summer. They are doing I believe at least 10 sold out shows at the same venue as this one, the O2 in London. When they had to postpone the first time they said they'd refund fans or they could hold on and their tickets would still be good. The vast majority of ticket holders are still holding their tickets. Last week they added two more shows to the line up. On to part 2 ...

Welcome to the Adam Lambert rabbit hole, it's a journey you'll definitely enjoy!! There are tons of videos of QAL, Adam solo tours (4 albums, 3 tours), and covers that he does like no other. He released 4th album, Velvet right before lockdown, so he had to cancel promotion and tour. He did, however, do two live shows from the Roxy Theater on January 29, 2021 of Velvet songs, some of his older songs, and a cover of Starman which he performed for the Bowie tribute. He's also performed Faith and One More Try for George Michael tribute. We Glamberts can't get enough of him! There are quite a few "best live vocal" videos too, here's one from PopCrush kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5OYin-GmJylY7M

I mean no disrespect, but you really should watch a Queen documentary. There are many good ones right here. Freddie actually joined the band that Brian May and Roger Taylor were in. John Deacon who was their bass player, retired after Freddie died because he couldn't deal with performing without him. And just as Adam Lambert is not a member of Queen, but performs with them, so does Spike Edney, who has played keyboard/background vocals w/Queen for over 35 years!! In recent years Roger's son has sometimes also joined them playing drums.. Adam came to Queen's attention when he was a contestant many years ago, back when everyone watched American idol. His audition song was Bohemian Rgapsody. The guys appeared with him on the season finale with him and the other final contestant. Adam was actually amazingly kind and held back vocally, not blowing him off the stage as he easily could have. FYI, this version of Queen touring is known as QAL, to distinguish when Adam is singing from when Freddie used to sing. Anything else you need cleared up?
@AmmaronReaction3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Ellen. I really appreciate you taking the time to write this. I have now seen the documentary and the movie and see what you mean. There are other things you mentioned here that I did not know such as the info on Spike Edney and Roger's son. Thank you.
@ellenw3913 жыл бұрын
@@AmmaronReaction You are most welcome. IMHO Spike is the most underrated person in the Queen "universe." For crying out loud, he's been playing with them since Freddie. You can see him briefly on the Live Aide concert (he had hair then lol). He's also their musical director. Not sure how long, but a long time! Glad to add some pieces of the puzzle!
@valogden2 жыл бұрын
Spike Edney is definitely a member of Queen that should be recognized! He actually started singing background which helped give them a richer tone live. Roger was the only one that was singing the backgrounds regularly and Brian did occasionally but often like now concentrated on his guitar and John didn't really sing. Now when they tour they not only have Spike Edney singing background but also Tyler Warren on percussion and vocals and Neil Fairclough on bass and vocals. This helps them sound so great live.

It is still Roger Taylor on the drums and Brian on the guitar. They had another guy on base that quit when Freddie died. I think you have seen the documentary with Roger and Brian. Love that you're reacting to Queen + Adam Lambert (QAL) as well as Adam's solo music! He's so, so talented and there's no one like him live!! He's the only one who could handle the Queen catalog of songs - they're so diverse, and so is he. He can really do anything and does it really well. Besides the voice, he's a fantastic performer!! I think the song you were referring to is Another One Bites the Dues, and I don't know if you've done a reaction to QAL doing that yet, but if you haven't, here's just one of the hundreds of links kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKjSp4Ocob5np5Y His Live Sessions of his 4th album, Velvet are definitely worth a listen!!
