damein noble I had no idea. The hair that frames her face was always cut and styled in a current way when she was younger. I always assumed the back was short as well. Most of her generation eventually cut their hair.

@@dennisstaughton7474 yes most older women cut there hair short for practical reasons, it gets harder to do it themselves due to age, that's why a lot of elderly ladies will visit the salon once a week for a wash and set or blow wave. As a Queen Empress the late Queen mother would of had all her hair needs taken care of at home daily. She would most likey of had a wash and set weekly and the back styled in the chignon. The layers round the face would of been trimmed to frame her face but gives the impression that the hair is short.

One would have to think about the life of the Royals. One would think about the Palace that they live in (that belongs to the commonwealth), the crown (belongs to the commonwealth), the pearls, diamonds, limousines (some belong to the commonwealth), extensive wardrobes, designer purses, designer suits, your own cook, etc. But, to have a life that is planned out for you day by day and year by year and to know that many of my days will be filled with talking to people and having meaningless conversations, people wanting to sing and perform for you when you really don't want hear the awful performances; go to different countries and eat some food you don't want to eat but, because I am ROYAL and I will get bad press.........I must eat it and show no signs of disgust.
