The energy in this song is amazing. Freddie is very sick by this time but he keeps coming into the studio begging for songs to sing. Brian had this one but thought it would be too difficult for Freddie who could barely stand at this point. Freddie slammed back a couple shots of Vodka and said "I will do it, Darling!" and totally smashed it. What a champion Freddie was and an inspiration to us all. He deserves every bit of his legendary status.

Can you even believe that *this* is the voice of a dying man ? Freddie was incredibly strong and determined, making music until he simply could not do it any more. The following was said by Brian May about recording this : “The melody called for some very demanding top notes, and I’d only been able to 'demo' them in falsetto,” May recalled. “I said to Freddie, ‘I don’t want you strain yourself - this stuff isn't going to be easy in full voice, even for you!’” The singer was up to the challenge. “Don’t worry - I’ll fucking nail it, darling!,” Mercury told May, before downing some vodka and recording his vocals. “[Freddie] propped himself up against the mixing desk and … delivered one of the most extraordinary performances of his life,” May declared. “In the final mix of 'The Show Must Go On,' when you get to ‘On with the show’, you are listening to a man who conquered everything to deliver his finest work.”

Our beloved Freddie did this song 2 months before his death. He was gravely ill at this point. Freddie believed that life was to be pursued in a way to reach and give joy and happiness and to get as much as you could out if this life. So....the show must go on, on stage and in life.

It is almost unbelievable what freddie was capable of with his voice when he was already very ill. I am always impressed by his strength, determination and perseverance listening to this song. He was a musician and performer from top to toe. The big crowd (cca. 120 000 people) you have seen was at their very last concert in Knebworth on 09.08.1986.

I like your reactions to Queen! They had so many great performances. The concert you saw in this video was at Knebworth in England...it was Freddie's last stage performance with Queen. The other scenes were from many of their wonderful videos: 'Break Thru' was performed on the back of a moving train. ' Princes of the Universe' is on part of a movie set for The Highlander, that Queen wrote the music for, and Freddie has a sword duel with the star. 'It's a Hard Life' takes place at a masquerade ball. 'I'm Going Slightly Mad' has a kind of macabre humor and features a gorilla and penguins. And of course, there's 'I Want to Break Free', done in drag as a parody of a UK sitcom, plus a little ballet on the side. You never know what to expect, but you know the music will be great!

Queen is one of the biggest British rock bands formed in 1970. Freddie Mercury had one of the best voices around with an amazing range. He was a real showman as the live concerts show. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is their most famous song but they had so many great hits in the 70's-90's such as "We Are The Champions", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "Love Of My Life", "You're My Best Friend", "Who Wants to Live Forever", "Somebody To Love", "Fat Bottomed Girls", "We Will Rock You" etc.

This song is so sad, in the lyricks he said « i bee warmer now, im soon rund the corner now» that meens he knew he comes to die soon, he was very sick here, no one get to see him anylonger beside those who was close to him. But his voice get stronger for a wail, I have read and hear his doctor said that is usual when you get such a sicknes. Spesial common for people who have somthing with art to do…..very strange….lovley, very sad from a wonderful magical man and band. Maybee this was in 1990/91 Im not sure. The sections of the video which have members of Queen in women's clothing are from the video for "I Want to Break Free", which was recorded to parody a popular British television program, "Coronation Street", which I think was was pretty much a soap opera. The song "I want to break free" was written by the Bass player, John Deacon, and the concept for the video was from the drummer, Roger Taylor's girlfriend at the time.. [Edited to make sure there's no confusion for the composition of "The Show Must Go On.] Reception of the "I Want to Break Free" video was very different between England and the United States. In England, where cross-dressing has long been a respected comedic trope, the video was very well respected, but it was controversial in the United States, basically ignored or banned from MTV, and helped result in poorer chart performance of the song..

Yes this a compilation of their videos. Because after recording this song he was to sick to do a video for it. Although he kept recording music in his last few years he was not able to do videos or tour. But he recorded until his last few months. Mother love was the last song he recorded but was unable to finish. So the last verse was sung by Brian.

" and so on and on! I sincerelly hope that, today, the stigma vanished. People should be ASHAMED TO JUDGE THE OTHER'S. Who hasn't made bad choises or had terrible relationshiops ? Not many will say this in this day and age. But HIV/AIDS had a terrible stigma and fear behind it at this time. People just freaked at being around people sick. I’m a nurse and just never felt this way (more afraid of hepatitis C back then) but the way his band members embraced him during his illness is amazing and they all deserve such love from us for doing so. They truly did love each other and you can tell. They wanted Freddie to be comfortable and they did that. They held each other up and truly supported each other. They were all Queen.
