Now the fun starts! As we say in the shop, "It's only nuts and bolts!" I think you're doing a marvelous job, and so many of us look forward to (and live vicariously through) your video adventure. I can only imagine the technical challenges ahead of you. I know what you'll be up against, and after watching you for a couple of years, you'll persevere just fine. Keep on keeping on!

To cool the date is 6/29/2021, over 5 years since this video and you and Mike are well into the Great Loop Adventure with many devoted and excited followers. These historical documents are fun to watch. Its ironic to think these two motors would get replaced early in the trip, I am certain the processes caused a great amount of stress, but what doesnt kill us does make us stronger. Please enjoy this adventure as much as us followers are. Thanks for the videos Marty! Safe seas my friend.

Marty, what your doing is soo cool. I have really enjoyed watching the progression of you shedding your things in order to make your dream happen. I too want to shed my things and live a life with less STUFF so I can enjoy the things that I like such as fishing and maybe having my own boat in Florida that I can just drive to and enjoy whenever I want. Keep those videos coming! While I'm locked up here at work working 2nd shift for 8-16 hours a day. Your videos are truly inspiring and relaxing for me to watch, I really enjoy them. Salud my friend!

Great video Marty! Been looking forward to this. By the way, you inspired me to buy my own "poor mans kayak". Just a cheap kayak I picked up from Craig's list for $260.00, but I love it, and it is perfect for me! Until recently I had became mostly bed bound, letting my physical illness / disability get the best of me. Thanks for helping me stand up, take a positive step and head to the water. This weekend I will be camping and Kayaking with my wife and daughters. I can't thank you enough. Keep up the inspiring videos, you never know the impact you may have on someones life.

That biggest "cover" was sitting up on "the hard" (dry land). He doesn't own that area and wouldn't be able to keep an eye on it in case somebody didn't know what it was and moved it. No way I'd leave my major hatch just sitting over in a random public area for anybody to mess with.

In the event, you have to do this again and for others who are watching this video, go to a hardware store and pick up some cheap lag bolts. Grind the bolt heads off and grind a flat on each side. Screw them into the engine mount holes and use them as dowl pins to guide the motor into place. I usually use four per engine and it gets the mounts spot on with the stringers. Then use pliers or an adjustable wrench to remove them after you have installed a couple of the engine mount bolts into the stringer. Works like a charm every time and saves the hassle of having to bar or slide the engine around for final line up.
