Ha ha, that's very creative. There are special tools designed for this very process, but I gotta tip a hat to the DIY option. When designing a tool, asymmetry might be useful to get into tight spaces like this.

I got a old cheap pair of long nose pliers and ground back the jaws just to leave lugs at the end. Does the same trick as well

Good tip. Have you ever come across DTC C4D8 Button Lighting Fault: Open Circuit? It is on the BSI module and I wonder if a BSI reset would fix the problem. I think you have to pull backwards both levers on each side of the steering wheel for a few seconds until horn sounds. I have no idea what is causing this fault.
@moremolecules2 жыл бұрын
I never found the BSI reset to do anything. I still do it from time to time, but I never thought it does something. I sincerely doubt it will fix it. Not too sure about the fault, but probably some short or open circuit somewhere, say a wire that is dangling. I would check if all lights are working as intended and take it from there.
@csraln67482 жыл бұрын
@@moremolecules Sometimes one of the two number plate lights goes off. I wonder if the BSI can check the condition of every single lamp. After using the Lexia interface , when I open and close any car door with the car key out of the ignition you can hear a rattling noise coming from behind the console (car unit) until a relay switch (probably in the BSI) disconnects something. Any idea?
@moremolecules2 жыл бұрын
@@csraln6748 AFAIK, the BSI does not have relays, might be wrong on that one. BSI also cannot check every single lamp, but checks quite a few of the lamps. Depending on the circuit of course. I would still check all lamps for continiuty with multimeter, etc.

Not too sure what the problem/question is. Is something blocking the EGR or are you asking about if you should block it?

Parallel Pliers Both jaws move together at the same rate , compressing together , not hinged like scissors as in " normal Pliers "
@moremolecules2 жыл бұрын
Ahh, yes, these are a very good option for these connectors, but I do not have one. I was in a tight spot once and had to use my long-nosed pliers with the nuts, rather than waiting for pliers to arrive.

nice solution 👍 . I have the same car with same engine , and have a question for u . When i slow down and stop for lights or something else the rev idle goes down of the idle line and becomes normal after a moment . it doesnt do that always but it gives feel like it cant hold it in idle and makes a bit vibration . Have you ever faced with that problem and do you have any idea ?
@moremolecules2 жыл бұрын
I have not faced it myself, but I would start with the basics for this. Definitely check if the battery is actually good and the alternator charges the battery. Multimeter on the clamps when the car is running and for a good alternator it should show ~14.3V. Could be that the MAF sensor is a bit dodgy, so you could try disconnecting it and drive without it to see if it makes a difference.

Je souhaite remplacer le capteur cartographique sur le moteur 1.6 hdi et installer un filtre à air performant, comment faire ?
@moremolecules2 жыл бұрын
Check the 1.6TDCi fords. Their MAF and filter is positioned slightly differently than the HDi. Same engine, just that they put the filter at the front. You can also get the parts from Ford and assemble it. You may need a cable extension for the MAF.

Nice. Seems worth the time to take a cheap $3 pair of pliers, heat the ends and bend them in a bit, if you do these very much at all.
@moremolecules2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's a good advice, although I do it not that often, hence the DIY way to do it. Otherwise I would have bought the actual pliers for the job. Seemed a bit of waste of money.
