great video. I bought a tool set from harbor freight to do this, but most videos demonstrating it arent very clear about what is happening (or what needs to happen to release it). Glad you could show us the inner workings.

Dude! Thank you for showing us what is possible without the special tool. I struggled with the standard Lisle plactic disconnect tools, but they are slightly too thick. I used some plastic from windshield fluid bottle to form a sleeve, then held with small hose clamp. Worked like a charm.

No problem. I hate buying specialized tools that I only use one in a blue moon. Like to think outside of the box and to save money as well.

What was wrong with Banjo or Plummer's clamps? Worked for 100 years. You just can't perfect the wheel any moor. If it isn't broke don't fix it.

I bought the regular tool but that extra flare on the line wouldn't allow it to work. So l made the tool from a permanent marker cap . But l like your idea about using a piece of an aluminum can . One tip for anyone struggling to get the line to separate is to push the lines towards each other while inserting the tool.

can you send me a link to that Lisle tool? Ive tried what you showed but I can't get it off I have a Corolla 2001

Since the hose still attached to the car, it's actually easier to remove the connection using the drip hose. Just be a little patience. You can also cut a aluminum can and bend it into round shape to insert to release the clips. Here's the link to the part. www.ebay.com/itm/233112747147?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=3TswiUjvSCu&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=IPwfKrY2SMG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Can someone please explain why you need to disconnect the fuel line at an earlier point instead of just pulling out an injector? Does disconnecting it there block the incoming fuel from leaking away? Or is there some kind of other benifit frim it? Or is it just for safety in case the car is still on contact or something? I didn't disconnect that and exchanged an injector, but now the car starts very late, after 2 cycles of the starter motor, and it smells of gasol8ne when I start, but it runs fine without smell. I'm confused...
@tonedubb43254 ай бұрын
The fuel rail and line have pressure. You don't need to disconnect the line to get to the injectors. Be mindful when you disconnect the injector. Gas will spew out. It's best to cover the rail with a big rag so the gas spatter on your face. Clean all the injectors with carb cleaners. Attach a 9v battery to the injector plug to open the injector. You should replace all the grommet gaskets on the injector. You may have an injector that's not properly seated or gasket is bad.

@@tonedubb4325 Thanks for taking the time to reply! I just didn't understand why people would go through so much trouble to make a special tool to disconnect it at these earlier points when you can just carefully pull out the injectors using a cloth or something like you said, it's even easier to catch the spilled gasoline from there, instead of it leaking out all the way at the back there... But in case you need to take out the rail to connect it to the carb cleaner, I understand ;) I have a spare rail for that.

That's a lie. Is there writing in it? I never saw it. I have disconnected and reconnected many times. I used the same lines with no issues.

I'm having trouble finding that particular fuel hose...I waited 3 days for the part to come, and it was too short to replace the hose that's on it. A rodent had chewed a hole in the line and gasoline was spewing everywhere.

@@tonedubb4325 do you happen to know the name of the fuel line. Replacing a part on a 01 rav 4 but Can't figure out if it's a fuel feed line. Fuel line assembly or some other name
@tonedubb43258 ай бұрын
@YVNGSSPARK I didn't know there was a name for it. Why do you need to replace it? Broken? Go to the dealership and provide your car info. I don't know if you can get that from the auto parts store. You can go to the auto wrecking dismantler to get the exact fuel line.
