Fabrics for my potato chip quilt are an ongoing thing. After every project I cut up more potato chips. My bin is getting fuller, and I hope to begin piecing soon. I really liked your tip #2!

@@CopycatQuilter I buy the 2 gallon ones at dollar tree. 5 comes in the box. I use them for storing strips and 5” squares that I make up when cutting my scraps. It holds a lot of them.

Use the Sew Yeah Vegas strips. They are 6-1/2 inch by WOF. Just cut those strips into 12-1/2 by 6-1/2 strips.

Sewing a Potato Chip top is fun. However, I'm not wild about cutting all the pieces needed to make one. When I'm having a good day off from work, I cut out pieces until my back hurts.
@CopycatQuilter11 ай бұрын
I use my Accuquilt and cut 4-1/2” strips and then crosscut them on the 2-1/2” strip die to put out lots of chips fast. If you don’t have Accuquilt, you could use jelly roll strips and only cut the 4-1/2” chunks. Or when you cut out a quilt, grab all the scraps and cut them and store. Then you’re building up the stash a little at a time. Where there’s a will there’s a way! Please subscribe if you haven’t and thanks so much for watching! 💚

I cut my scraps as each quilt is finished. Then every few weeks or so,I make potato chip blocks. Easy peasy.

@@kathrynboseman5249 I try to do the same for chips but also 5” squares or 2-1/2” strips. Have those standard sizes can really make your stash easy to use! Thanks for watching! 💚

Thank you for this informative video, especially Tip #3! If you use plastic all the time for quilt pieces, why not be kind to the environment by sewing up some project bags with clear vinyl fronts to hold your quilt pieces? …just a thought 😊
@CopycatQuilter11 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching Gayle and yes… I should do that. I think I even have vinyl around here somewhere. I don’t think I’d even need a zipper. I do reuse my baggies in the sewing room a lot but I also use them a lot for single servings of food in the freezer and don’t reuse those. Thanks for yet another project idea! 🤣🤣🤣
