A fitting end, but sad nonetheless, strange as it seems. Imagine living an entire lifetime knowing there was a world filled to brim with paranormal horrors and wonders alike, and you were tasked to hold them at bay. Then, one day it all just stops, abruptly and without explanation. i don't know if it would be possible for you to adjust to the mundane after that. Being trained to stay on alert at all times for all possible outcomes, you just get used to that feeling.

@DJVirgoNeun19 жыл бұрын
Bit Data I'm pretty sure everyone in Marvel would adjust easily to everyday life save for a few that'd end up at a madhouse like Wanda. As for DC, Bruce would never compromise, he's very paranoid and has trust issues so it'd be very hard for him to adjust. Other than that, yeah I agree completely. When you've done something for so long, you just feel like everyone is indebted to you and yet you feel cheated after all this time when you're all alone in a place that's already empty and you've sacrificed everything just for everyone's happiness and safety. What makes it so bad is that nobody will ever know you exist. ):

The SCP Universe having a quiet end sounds nice, but also wrong at the same time. All of the magic, the mystery, the chaos, just disappearing. Shutting down. Stopping. Possibly never to return. It has something off about it. All the different prophecies never coming to pass. No scarlet king, day breaking, none of that. It kinda makes me wonder how other scps that weren't mentioned in Quiet Days would go away. I would imagine the scps meant to be immortal or have at least been around for quite some time finally dying out. 035 just becoming a simple mask without the anomalous effects. 049's containment cell being empty except for a bird-like mask on the floor. 076-2 and 073 being dust if there's even anything left of them, maybe there having been enough time left for them to forgive each other for their pasts and bid their final goodbyes. The terrifying deer god that had to be contained with rituals disappearing. The gate guardian letting go of his sword for the first time, his wings folding up as the angel vanishes without a trace. 343 just walking off, maybe leaving a goodbye note. 106 either leaving behind nothing but a corrosive puddle or becoming a regular old man referred to as Lawrence. Someone looking at SCP-426 and going "hey, what's that?" And someone responding with "it's a toaster." A scientist panicking as all the anomalies are vanishing and yelling "SCP-2521!" Only to be met with nothing. 2295 and 1048 just becoming inanimate teddy bears with blank stares, never to be able to perform their anomalous properties ever again. A bottle of red pills without a label being seen as suspicious and discarded. A locket that used to heal people or turn them into monsters now being worn by someone who thought it was pretty. Iris sitting on an airplane, listening to music, finally going home. She takes out a collection of polaroid pictures and looks though them, nothing happening. 079 just shutting down or never truly existing in the first place. 179 nowhere to be seen in space, leaving her brother and the planet she wanted to protect behind to somewhere. 507 no longer being someone who is transported to other dimensions against his will, just some guy with many nicknames. 173 just being a regular statue, probably on display somewhere or having been destroyed. 096's cell having nothing but a hole in the wall, possibly hinting to the shy monster going back to his mountains or just outright being gone. Robert Scranton and the red light he called his friend never being heard from again. 3000 being found at the bottom of the ocean.. but only as a massive skeleton. 348 being a regular ceramic bowl with a blue floral pattern, unable to spontaneously fill with soup anymore. SCP-230 now just a regular, albeit slightly eccentric man with many friends and a unique fashion sense. 999 not being in his containment cell anymore, maybe some orange slime being left behind as a final goodbye, that bowl of M&Ms and Necco Wafers never to be eaten again. 187 now just a regular girl, able to look at people and not see two versions of them. Some of the scientists talking about a cute grey cat walking around that has an affinity for cheese, the entire cat now visible. 662 being rung, only for nothing to happen except for the ringing of the bell echoing down the desolate hallways. 1545 is just a llama costume in one of the hundreds of lockers. 166 being able to wear clothes again and reuniting with her father, who has also lost his anomalous properties. A picture being taken of Dr.Clef and, for the first time, his face isn't covered up or obscured. SCP-963 no longer bound to Jack Bright, and he can finally fulfill his deepest desire that was revealed by a now mundane camera what feels like an eternity ago. Professor Crow being turned back into a normal human or just staying as a dog without human intelligence. TJ Bright now able to touch other people without instantly transferring their sicknesses, injuries, and mental illnesses onto himself. Scientists and other personnel going back home, some of them maybe even taking amnestics to get a fresh start on their new, normal lives. The famous characters of this grand, anomalous stage bowing and walking off stage for the last time. The curtains have been drawn, the lights all shut off. Everything now truly normal, for better or for worse.

It's also sad when you think about all the groups of interest affected The sarkics being wiped off the face of the earth in a matter of minutes leaving behind nothing. Gamers against weed becoming nothing more then trolls on the internet. GRU division P officially being disbanded since they have no purpose anymore. Anderson robotics making perfectly non anomalous robots or just disappearing. Herman fuller's circus of the disquieting just becoming a regular old circus. Parawatch not changing at all since they had no clue that anomalies did exist. Deer college and Alexyla university just ceasing to exist or becoming a regular old college and university prospectively. Ambrose restaurants becoming non anomalous fine dining establishments. All operatives of the shark punching center being arrested for animal cruelty. ORIA and IJAMEA disappearing off the face of the earth never to be heard from or spoken of again. Wilson's wildlife solutions disbanding and giving half of their remaining funds to a charity known as the "mana charitable foundation". All the wonder and mystery of these groups just disappearing

Dream report 990-001 Accuracy: 90% Contacted person: O5-1 After one of my mundane dreams, i was met with what looked like a park, with a man sitting on a park bench. I was lucid, i knew what this meant. ”990?” I sat down on the bench next to him. ”Yes, Overseer?” ”Why are you here? What’s going to happen?” ”That’s the wrong question, overseer. The right question would’ve been ’who are you?’” ”I already know who you are, you’re an anomaly.” ”Wrong, in a way. Why do you think i only contact Foundation employees?” ”You’re not…” “I am, Calvin. Your little council of overseers has never hindered me. I’ve always been here, steering the Foundation from the shadows.” “Why are you telling me now?” “Alas, that is why I am here. Quiet days are coming, and I am not exempt from their effect.” “What do you mean?” “You will see. I suggest you check up on that star in the Crab Nebula. You might find something rather surprising…” And I woke up.

Does anyone here think a scenario like this article, Quiet Days, would make for an interesting secret "good" ending for SCP Containment Breach?
@gamercornelius3485 жыл бұрын
xxFalconArasxx this seems like the “good” ending to the entire SCP Universe, all SCPs are now normal, the Foundation did it’s job while it was needed, and unless SCPs start again, and in reality, the SCPs ended as they started, they started in a random time, and ended in a random time. The bad ending would be that the SCPs started a XK Class End of the World Scenario.

damn. The last bit gave me that "ending to a REALLY good book" vibe, the specific one that leaves you feeling empty and wanting more because DAMN was that book (or game or story, ANYTHING really.) good. A story where you truly connect with the characters, feel for them, and maybe even wish they were real to congratulate them for making it through all the troubles they made it through. A story with the details and features of life itself, where you can take in something as simple as the vibe of a room or the way someone speaks, their personality or the way they act in the presence of danger, or the presence of an old friend. and that story makes you feel like that old friend is *your* friend. this would have to be the second best example of a bittersweet ending to a story I've ever seen... Yeah, bittersweet is a fitting way to put it.

I guess the water displacement wasn't to noticble, they would've made a coverup story saying that "The Water is freezing and the Icebergs" or something like that.

That implies that Leviathan was actually anomalous and not a naturally evolved creature, which is a distinct possibility that it was just a giant undiscovered animal and not an actual anomalous entity.

to me, this is one of the most horrifying tales to come out of SCP, the thought that everything they worked for was undone in a snap, all the atrocities gone, and nothing to be truly remembered by gives me chills

Why does this feel like one of the most sad stories. A universe filled to the brim with unspeakable horrors being turned into pretty much our world? Maybe because with the horrors all the wonders left too and only left mundanity behind.

;-; this feels like seeing the sad-emotional ending of an series you followed from a long time, and now it's finally over and you get that happy-sad-satisfying strange feeling ;w; like if i was watching Alexander Anderson's death and/or Hellsing's ending all over again or something like that... God damn it! i'm NOT crying! i just.. caught an anomaly in my eye!!! STOP LOOKING AT ME! DON'T YoU hAvE bEtTeR thIngS to lOOk aT?!! I imagine Humanoid SCPs becoming non anomalous and set free in the world, beings like 682 or 939 turning to dust ala idontwannagodrbright, objects and structures losing anomalous effects, anomalous places and portals closing up, the hateful star and things like that disappear, Cassy and Fred are no longer to be found ;-; all disease based SCPs die, and the infected recover and get cured, and our beloved Toaster is non anomalous anymore. 055 was a man who nobody never knew about, who escaped and commited suicide when finally got a chance. 096 became a regular slightly dehydrated human who was not so shy anymore and had basic human intelligence. 173 wouldn't move anymore, no matter how our wet, deep, unconsoled eyes blinked, waiting, with the hope of feeling something snappity snap our necks. 999 dissolved and was never seen again, but was happy, for he brings happiness to even the being who hated all humans. 076 and 073 met one final time while everything was disappearing, they forgave each other, and started a life of two brothers, living together under God's sight and, speaking of 343.... he was there, watching everything disappear, his great work was finally ending, he was not sad, he was happy, for he brought fun for that Universe, and it had to come to and end, he just smiled, as he became stone.

That SCP it self is the container SCP of 001 that no one forgot about and no one know the true 001. A propetic dream , an O5 dreamt about something anomalous after the quiet days, a human... that was born with 100 percent used brain, the O5 again begin to set up meeting, the other O5s begin to laugh and said the dreamed O5 being delusional, not knowingly it was true, the dreamed 05 begin to rage and left the meeting, he began to build an organization, not like the foundation, but with a new intention ,To use the anomalous entities to significantly make better quality life for humans, it visited the human and inviting him to an organization that benefit greatly for humans, the human accepted and followed the dreamed O5 to a building with modern structures, the human amazed with the structure because it was a strange and the superhuman never seen it before See you next time on after the quiet days....

A possible explanation for this is the fact that evertthing requires fuel, maybe all anomolous objects take fuel from a certain source, and with so many things popping up, it just got drained and became useless since it was a none renewable source.

This was made nine years ago. Its honestly amazing how it feels like this is a real stopping point for everything. Bittersweet; but as far as SCP goes its the best anybody gets. While most would be just like the 05 Council I think that some are glad that this time came. Maybe this can be its own canon where the stories are about the Quiet Days either coming to be or are about what people ended up doing after they happened. Maybe some military types from the foundation form a PMC and sell their skills as highly trained badasses. The doctors of the foundation went on to bring the tech and research to domestic uses. Everything that was sci-fi eventually became something explained by science down the road.
