Just a recommendation I learned long ago. If you can, cut your logs out of the lengthwise grain and they won't stretch and throw your block out of whack.

I will use jelly rolls from many of your past collections too. The strips go a long way so I want to use what I have all the way back to Harper's Garden. Love them all! OMB I am over the moon about this BOTM! 🤩 This actually popped up on my feed as I was on a treadmill run (snow + ice = no roads, no way), and it was everything I could do not to pause it to whip out my phone and gush.🤣 I have really loved getting back into Log Cabins, I have plenty of Laguna Sunrise and some leftover Strawberry Lemonade to use for it, and the varied small blocks are going to be so crazy cute inside the logs! I love that it will be flexible, too, as I prefer to make final decisions on quilts like these after I have enough material to get a "feel" for the whole. Thank you for this awesome year of blocks to come! 💖

Such a fun idea. I have multiple sew/quilt alongs that I am trying this year....including the Brightly Sampler (loving it) so one more addition can't hurt!! Went through my jellyroll stash (Ok...5 jellyrolls), picked one and am cutting the strips. Hand surgery coming in the next few months and won't be able to cut fabric for a while after so I am precutting as much as I can

I have made a few log cabin quilts and one with a center block. So thinking I will piece the centers and then decide how to set in a larger block. Not a star, but will fun to think about throughout the year.

Ok great for new pattern. I have fat quarter bundle for blocks. So1 yard background for smashing and inner border so fabric to be used where- so u don’t use from fat quarter bundle for that . 1/2yard contrast don’t use from fat quarter bundle either. And 1 1/4 yards out order buy extra also. Thank you just making sure..

Thanks, Sherri, for another great FREE block of the month project. I just completed Heart of the Home this past weekend. It was my first log cabin quilt. I'm very excited to make another. Am I correct in assuming that some of the center, 6" blocks, will not have a "right side up" so that flipping them to make the diagonal "logs" will be easy?

As a newbie, going to try this 2025 BOM and am super excited! Just a little confused when you mentioned sewing on the outside edge of the jelly roll. Can you explain a little further? Also, will need extra background fabric?

In the video you said that you could use a fat eight bundle. Did you mean for all of the 18" blocks? In the fabric requirements it says a fat quarter bundle. I'm excited to make this quilt this year! I have a Laguna Sunrise layer cake and want to get any additional fabric while it's still available! Thanks for doing this every year! It's so fun!

I also like to do my own quilting stitches and I was wondering if there's any way a person could do background Quilt stitches per Block and then put them all together at the end and be done?

Need help..I can’t find the fabric requirement pdf..I tried searching the blog and I only found the January BOM pdf..sorry, computers are not my friend 🙄..beautiful block..looking forward to giving it a try but I must say the 18” block scares me since I only have a 15.5” square ruler to keep it square so will be a first for me to stitch bigger than a 12.5 square..Happy Quilting 🙋‍♀️

Do you know of any foundation paper piecing for the 18” block? I just completed my first FPP log cabin but it was a 12.5inch block. FPP made it so easy.
