Oh Keith needs a "add a ruler" it has a small lip on it for butting up against the area of the fabric so you cut just what needs to be cut. It leaves a quarter inch. His quilt is looking very good. Oh yes I'd love to have the chicken quilt kit.. Love to make it for my friend!!

Omgoodness, I loved listening to Keith and especially to the expression, "the angle of the dangle," lol. His project looks so good, my husband even watched the video with me instead of going to his man cave to reload some shells. Keith's plugs were fantastic, too. I am the secretary/bookkeeper at our Career Center here in Greer,SC! So many amazing career paths that students can study and be certified in their trade and be career ready or go to college or the military. On your travels back from FL if you happen to be in Upstate SC we have a couple awesome quilt shops too, I’d love to meet you! We use to own a 5th wheel camper. OMG... I've been looking for the Chicken Salad kits since you started yours, Becky! Love Keith's fox quilt... he's braver than I am! I tried paper piecing years ago and just couldn't stick with it. I messed things up so many times and got frustrated. Needless to say, the project ended up in the trash! Can't wait until your road trip... I LOVE Key West!! Even the drive down there is incredible!

Amazing job Keith on your first quilt!! I love my seam ripper!! I enjoyed this video! I will see if they have any Kentucky Derby Hats on sale yet so you can have a hat from Kentucky!! Becky I took the same class with Amy Butler back in 2015. I pulled it out and made another attempt at that paper pieced block and didn’t have any luck! i’m not giving up!! When I finish it I will post it!! (I wish I could wrap my head around converting from hand cutting to using my Cricut!) I had hand surgery in December and struggling with using the rotary cutter and even scissors!! I know it will strengthen with time!! My recovery has actually been amazing!!

That’s awesome that Keith is doing a paper piece project. He’s doing a great job. Has he tried a rotary cutting mat for those pieces? I’ve tried to encourage my husband to do some piecing but not going to happen. The Lori Holt Chicken Salad Kit is a wonderful gift. I just finished the Lori Holt My Happy Place. Chicken Salad would be a wonderful compliment to it.

Awesome job!! I like to paper piece, but haven't done it in a while. It truly is working upside down and backwards, in my view. I would love to do the chicken salad kit. Your trip next month sounds great. There are several quilt shops in the Jacksonville and St Augustine area and down the East coast. Plus Tampa, Clearwater area also. Love the fox quilt great job Keith. :)

Wow, excellent job by Keith!!! Extraordinary accomplishment for a beginner quilter. Patchwork is difficult enough for beginners but to start with foundation paper piecing that is commendable. The fox looks awesome and cannot wait for the eagle to take flight.
