Hi Bonnie I have been watching you from day one and have loved all your videos. Each time I watch I find out we have so much in common - I watch Shanda, Anna, and my mom , my daughter and her family and all my family live in CO which I go back often to visit, I love to hand quilt and applique and embroider on and on but tonight I wanted to reach through the screen and give you a hug because you sort of go to the same church I do - I love, love, love Pastor Jack. I have watched you guys live every Sun for over a year now and feel like you are my home church until I can find one here in KS where I live. Could go on but need to stop rambling was just so excited that you go to ccch. You are doing a great job on your videos - my daughter and I do them too so I know how much work they can be. Thanks again and can't wait until your next video!

Oh my goodness! How awesome you are also involved with ‘my’ church! We abo love it there. Pastor Jack and the staff of CCCH are so caring! That’s also where I attended several sessions of Seasons of Grief (using the materials and videos from Grief Share) to help me process thee emotions after Mom died. Such an incredible help to me. Thank you so very much for reaching out to me in this virtual friendship and support for my videos. I’m excited to hear you also do them and will find you right away! Do you have a Flosstube name? I’ll also tap your icon as soon as I’m done here. We’ve got so much in common and I’m thrilled you’re one of my sweet supporters as my videos are a bit more about me and my faith. Not gunna be for everyone and that’s ok. I’m doing what I can to uplift our hurting world and be the real me.

Oh Bonnie I didn't mean for you to have to watch our videos or anything because I know it can be overwhelming - there are so many out there. We don't do any sewing things although I have thought about it, it is mostly - well it started out with cooking but we now mostly help people with debt and we are really getting overwhelmed (in a good way) with so many people asking us questions about God and the Bible. It has been unreal the past few months with the questions we get. People are really really wanting to know about the Lord. We send as many as we can to listen to Pastor Jack too. I was so glad when you said you went there because I could tell it was hard on you losing your mom and was so thankful because I knew you were in really good hands there. I get so excited about the amazing things God does and how He brings just the right people and thing into our lives when we need them. Can't wait for your next video to see more of your lovely things and get ideas. : ) : )

I like Quilters Select too. I have the 6.5x12.5, the mat & just got the 45mm rotary cutter. It has a nice weight & you just tap it on the table to expose & cover the blade. I have BibleGateway app. I am using the beginning to end (Gen-Rev) reading plan; though next year, I may choose chronological. I have tried the One Year Bible, but don't do well jumping around. I pull up the reading for the day & click on the speaker which plays audio. Then I click back on the Bible & can listen & read along with it. I don't subscribe, but just look it up each day. Some days I have to concentrate to read along with the audio, but that keeps me from being distracted. Thank you for your openness of faith!

Oh, I like the idea of that app. sounds like a good one. I bought the audio bible, but it only has tract numbers and not chapter and verse. Not what I had expected, even though I love the audio. Thanks for that suggestion!! Ah. the QS rotary cutter sounds great as well!! Hmmmmmm

Bonnie, I have the Janome Memory Craft 6600 Professional. I love it. I also have a smaller Janome that I used when I would attend quilting classes. I did take the bigger one to class and I just got to weak to handle it getting it set up for stitching. It sure is a heavy machine. I love all your quilts and like the way you redesign the pattern the way you want it. I do the freezer paper method of appliqué, also. I started out doing needle turn but changed to the freezer paper method which is crisper and so much easier to stitch, in my humble opinion. I am going to do Lori Holt’s Granny’s Garden and Prim quilts. She uses the interface method so I will being that a try. Not sure if it will be harder but won’t know unless I just do it. I saw some Kansas Troubles fabric which is my favorite fabric lines. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful things.🐿💕.

I had to pause at 27.30 to say what a delight it is to always be met with a welcoming smile at every video's beginning, followed by the emotional intimacy of your heartfelt sharing of feelings and thoughts. I've heard it said that in every "healthy" adult there is a flourishing child. Your child calls to mine as you talk about your responses to various things (the color wheel doesn't "compute" and you're happier going your own way colorwise); I have the same reactions you do in so many particulars that I feel like you're my matching bookend. Except in the ways you bring new ideas I needed but didn't know I did: i.e. I've always craved what I describe as "whisper-pale, etherial pastels" because of a sensitivity to stronger colors. I knew that I needed stronger colors to "anchor a room" but I couldn't figure out how to do that in a way I could live with. I have even wanted white-painted and/or light woods in my home because dark woods "brought me down." I was concerned about my sons, their wives, my grandchildren and THEIR need to have emotional comfort through the colors and esthetics in my home. (I am now between homes and will be a different person in my next home. How will I appoint it differently???) Then I heard you talk about the darker-colored quilts that give you a warm, cozy, nurtured feeling--and a visceral "AHA! moment" connected with my psyche! It was the answer, and helped me start to love the darker woods also. You're turning lights on for me that are life-changing. (Of all my senses, I most "live" through my eyes.) What if you're doing this for others, too, Bonnie? I'm not an isolated case. It's a joy and blessing for people to have their vision expanded because they can become freer to expand their own souls. Wish I had the tongue of an angel to express it better. Thank you, my dear Bonnie, for answering my plea that you tell us what sewing machine and tools/techniques you use to create your magic!! You are "a woman after my own heart" in your thoroughness of details and fulness of information!! Crazy about the plastic boxes you use (see-through!) and where to access these, etc. Okay, back to watch the rest!! Thank you for all of it! I love praying for others and I'm praying that you will find more and more peace of mind as you grow closer and closer to God. It would be wonderful if you some time tell us which of the Y.L. oils have been most beneficial to you and how you use them. Hugs and blessings💕Sue

Oh, Sue you are so dear!! Yup, that video was for YOU!! But I know so many others enjoyed the insight and little bit of teaching I did to share what I love. I have thought of how I can share about the oils in a way that would educate and not bore people!! I think that's a good idea to share a little bit. I think I'll talk a little about how they benefit. I keep wanting to do a public oil education channel, but man...it can get ugly out in that realm of YOuTube. This little community is so totally amazing and uplifting. Wish all of it was out there!!! Yeah, it is like that with me and colors, like you are seeing as I share in the videos. Sometimes, I really enjoy the brights, but more like a quick and cheery visit, but not to live with! However, I have a few projects I really want to finish that are brighter...maybe they will come out and play nice with my dark quilts!!

Yes. The DMC is labeled for machine embroidery. I think that's the only sewing thread DMC makes. It's very similar to the Auriful 50 wt, so if you have that you could also use it for hand embroidery. The auriful 80 wt is finer and smoother, but a little more fragile.

Great video, and FYI, 1 hour is not too long ..I watch some Flosstubers that are always an hour. Love your 3 Cabins quilt. You are preaching to the choir girl when you talk about Quilters Select rulers. They are awesome! Thank you for a very interesting quilting video. Many tips and tricks that will be useful in my quilting room. I was wondering how you set up to do your quilting, do you use a hoop to hold the layers together while you stitch? I believe I remember that you pin the layers together first. Would you consider doing a demo of your quilting?
@logcabinstitcher7274

Yes, I have a system of 'sandwiching' my quilt on the front room rug and pinning them. I make sure my backing is starched and I carefully get it a bit taught and tape it to the floor with painters tape and then layer and smooth out the batting and then the top. Yes, I think that would be a good idea to do a little demo on my system. Maybe with a small project...I'll have to give that a bit of thinking. I have found a system that works well for me and it would be good to share. Thanks for the idea.

thanks, I did that log cabin by jan patek, although I follow the pattern, trying to break out of the box, love the way you did your quilt. I learned needle turn applique from a Jan patek tutorial and small quilt. Also I have a wood seam roller, its from Violet Craft, love it. was a gift. She has a great website, should check it out and also a you tube I think. take care and thanks again

OH that's a great idea. I just wrote it down and will check it out. I just love wood items. I was a woodworker for about 20 years. Plain wood feels so natural in my hands. Yes, I was just watching a Jan Patek applique tutorial last night. She's so great.

It is wonder to see how you overcame all the issues you’ve dealt with and now to see you bloom into the full potential God has given you. I, too, deal with anxiety and depression. Which oils have you found to help? They have truly helped with my hot flashes.

Thank you! I have a saying...‘I have oils and I know how to use them!’ I really do have lots of oils and supplements from YL. I’ve got to say my current favorites for emotions are Peace & Calming, Grounding and Hope. I also have a blend I’ve made from a Jen O’Sullivan’s French Auromatherapy book that’s called Relaxation Support (Frankincense, Lavender, Copaiba, Vetiver & Cedarwood). But I truly do saturate myself with the products for everything. I’ve got several I use for hormone support (yup...those hot classes are NO MORE!) Immune Support and gut health. I probably take 8 supplements. Which ones are your favorite?

@@logcabinstitcher7274 I googled essential oils for hot flashes and combined part of three recipes. I include clary sage, lavender, fennel, basil, peppermint, geranium and Angelica. If you think there’s anything else that will have benefit let me know, please.

@@melisagraham587 those sound like helpful oils. Young living has a blend to support the endocrine system called Endoflex. That’s the one that knocks mine out and helps with the mood as well.

Hi. Bonnie, I found your channel from Shandra’s flosstube. It’s a great community to find and support like kindred spirits so far away. Really enjoy your stitching and style. God bless. I am just finding my way back to stitching since I had a mom’s worst nightmare. My daily verse is ‘let go and let God’. Bloom. You might enjoy flosstube Theresa Kogut.

Would you show some small quilts that from lap size tops to small wall quilts. I don’t have room for bed quilts and also short on spare time. Love the small on the wall behind you with the stars ,pumpkins and small squares. Is it still available? Thank you. Mary

That's a good idea to share smaller quilts. ON the next quilting video, I'm going to share a sweet book of smalls by Edyta Sitar. My Mom also made me lots of small lap quilts. The little pumpkin wall hanging is Plaid Pumpkins by Cheri Payne. I just did a quick search, and I'm only seeing it on Pinterest. I don't know that Cheri has any quilt patterns for sale now. There is a Facebook Private group called Quilts by Cheri - Friendship Group that may be of interest to you.

Loved seeing your quilts and showing what you use. I recently brought a wallpaper wooden roller. I was taking my Pfaff in for a check but while putting it in the car I twisted my back. So have it taped up and going to physio. Blessings and happy stitching.

Love visiting with you!!! Love your enthusiasm!! Your quilts are gorgeous! The Three Cabin quilt is fabulous!! I’m fairly organized but not quite like you. Do you use wool batting? I use a variety but never wool....yet. Once again, I really enjoy your videos, quilting and cross stitch. Studying the Bible and prayer keeps me calm and joyful in all this endless disarray in our lives. God is always near.

Hi there! I have been using the Quilter’s Dream Request cotton batting, but next time I purchase batting I’m going to get their wool and try it for the first time. I learned that wool is wonderful to hand quilt with and also great insulation for warmth, but somehow perfect for allowing air circulation for use when it’s warmer weather. Sounds like it’s the perfect batting! Glad you’re relying on God’s strength and wisdom, as well. May He bless you richly!

Storage boxes: I use the clear women and men shoe boxes from The Container Store. I order them by the case. They all stack so nicely and my craft room looks so beautiful and organized. I use them in my kitchen, bathroom, closets etc. Endless usages. I learned this from a professional organizer. ❤️

I pray that the Lord will have his way in the lives of the antichrist, whatever it takes, may he Bloom in their lives. Amen I love the book of Jeremiah, it saved my life in May of 2000. A small button would make a nice door knob. P.S. It's you're channel. Have it your way.
