Literally very valuable tips from a personal training perspective. I've been giving clients hip thrusts and squats or RDL's and leg press, hips too but not with so many specific angles and holds. The banded hyper is such a giga brain move, love to see it

I like the banded option, nice 👌, but I don't think that compromising that lumber spine and rounding it is worth it, especiallywith the added resistance. Us getting a stronger low back is beneficial anyway. What is your opinion?

@@setha6163 I for one agree with you. Seems the band puts too much of a strain on the upper body for it to be worth doing it for glutes. Quite frankly seems uncomfortable

Absolutely perfect. Thanks for the modification for using the band. If you can believe this, my gym doesn't have an abductor machine. I've requested it so many times. I love the hyperextension advice. Trying all these tomorrow

I like hip thrusts because I can do it easily at home also same with the dumbbell RDL's. These look like great exercises to try at the gym tho. I'll def try them out soon. You look amazing. Wish I was that ripped.

I'm going to use these tips on my next leg day! Last month I started sitting up and closer to the edge of the seat on the adduction machine and I immediately felt the difference and after 2 weeks I Cld see the difference! I'm going to try all three in my next sets!

I think the hyper extensions are too advanced for me currently but the other exercises I'm confident in! Thank you! you have helped reinforce my knowledge and have me thinking on new things (hyper extensions for glutes)

those exercises are good but they are not better than a well-executed hip thrust with a good weight as she says, she also said in another video that she hates the BB Hip Thrust If you don't have problems executing it and you like it, don't stop doing it. Also, don't forget that to achieve results, it's a set of everything, not just one exercise.

@@sncnutrition7118 yes!! Glute bridges! Diagnosed with AS and herniated L5. I still struggle daily, some better than others. But glute bridges are always my go to. Whether it's body weight, long band across my body, short band on my shins, or with weight. It all works. Just do what you can that day. Have you seen a physical therapist? Remember motion is lotion. Do what feels good

@@sncnutrition7118 also, I used Athlean X when researching when PT wasn't enough for me. He really helped bunches and he had literally tons of videos to get lost in. Keep a journal of what you do, what works best for you. Pay attention to how you feel doing it, after and the day after.

Thanks Dana, these are some great options. I personally hate hip thrusts but I do them. I’m glad you demonstrated how to do an abduction with just a hip circle at home! We only have one abduction machine at our gym and it’s constantly occupied!

I have been doing the “Yes/No” machine for years, but never three positions nor sloooow! (Usually a shit ton of reps pretty fast). Tried it this morning and ohhhh myyy gosh! What a difference!!!

Best rule of thumb is to slow down your reps. If you're going fast on any exercise, you are not utilizing all your potential. Tempo and pause are always in my arsenal and with a high potential of hurting yourself. Not to mention doing these will help you add more weight long term

My best results come from original squats penitentiary style. Also can use water bags to add resistance at any weight I want. Also mix in prison burpees at my own pace.

good info but may want to help folks visualize that the size of the 45 plates hitting the ground limits the forward movement. also mentioning that leg press with increased pressure on the heels helps glute focus vs quad focus. thus the deadlifts with similar principal. what also could be mentioned was the hip abduction with the hips up not in the seat and how this differs in hip/glute contractions. Or why this is not a tech you recommend.

Dana, I’m having a rotator cuff surgery soon.I torn 3 massive tendons in my rotator cuff area. I also torn my bicep. I also now have one one bicep. What type of shoulder/bicep exercises can you provide me to strengthen my shoulders/arms/bicep after surgery and limitations I now have. If you can help me with this request that would be great.
