in my experience, the first 1-3 days are very hard, because you are breaking a habit and your crutch wont be there... Then it gets easier as the days go on. But for me, every time I relapse is around the 1 month mark when the withdrawls are completely gone and im no longer in "super anti-coffee" mode, where its juste kind of an after thought, and then go see some friends that are drinking beer or something and think to myself "may as well have a small coffee for a lil boost of energy, its not as bad as alchool"... then the rest is history, the next morning ill have a coffee and the story repeats itself... I really want to quit it, its when i let my guard down the it comes back...

Congratulations on quitting! How are you doing now? I am on day four and, amazingly I don’t have a headache, but I have very bad fatigue, inability to concentrate and I’m surprisingly emotional. Also I think my libido is down a little bit. All of this makes sense since noradrenaline and dopaminergic signaling is decreased during the withdrawal. This is surprisingly difficult.

@@bredenis5 Thank you!!!!!!! Doing awesome, It took some months for me to really regain a feel of any normalcy but totally worth it. Now the thought of having any sort of caffeine in my body makes me feel sick. Best thing of all, zero panic attacks and zero anxiety since. In my experience, what helps me the most with the cravings is "withdrawals meditations"... Not trying to block the pain associated with it but actually embellishing it and allowing it to express itself... sounds corny, but it really helps big time... Its now clear that cravings come in waves, its not a constant thing... if you can survive the wave (which typically lasts only a few minutes), your mind naturally goes to something else and the craving will go away for a few hours... the more you do this, the less the cravings come, and the bigger the gap becomes in between waves... The challenge then becomes to notice when your cravings reappear when your guard is down...

Hey Steph. This makes a lot of sense! I felt terrible in early stages and just wanted it to go away. Luckily I persevered and am still free for the past 7 months. It’s one of the best things I’ve done and I’ll update again soon on how it’s gone. You can do it!! 💪🏼

This is true I have the same thing with alcohol, the cravings come in waves. As long as you can get through the 30-40 minute window you’re good. I’m on month 8 no alcohol now and day 3 no caffeine but reduced caffeine down 1 cup a day the past 10 days and no caffeine last 2 weekends. For me it’s mostly to help with my terrible acid problems which are always triggered by caffeine.

I’m on day 3. Energy is up and down. Headaches are calming down, but I’m have such terrible body aches and muscle cramps. I’ll get thru it…I’ve done it once before and I’ll do it again! I did an elimination diet to find some foods that were bothering me, and part of the elimination included caffeine. Now that I look back on it, I bet it was the caffeine causing all of the symptoms! I’m trying to power on, but it is rough. I work and have two young kids…

Hey, well done for getting to day 3/4 and sorry you feel like crap. Get plenty of water in and some extra sodium to combat the cramps and headaches. You’re probably right about it being the caffeine giving you symptoms. My heartburn, unpredictable toilet habits (sorry 😂) neck tension headaches and many other things went away after quitting, it’s been a god send to my health! I'm still on caffeine, but reducing the intake with gradually bigger portions of decafeinated and smaller part of regular. By far i'm 2/3 decaf. One thing i identify myself the most with your video is the sleeping and dreaming. Altough i still take some caffeine my sleep hours have increased and i feel i'm having a deeper sleep. Not dreamig yet tough. but my "dreams" used to be like being half aware of my enviroment while i'm sleeping and reviewing in my mind what I did during the day or my to do's. and these last days with the caffeine reduction i just disconnect while sleeping and yes, i wake up with the usual foggy mind, but with a more rested mind and restored body sensation. i think by next week I'll go caffeine free.

At first I thought it was just plain anxiety so I went to the emergency room at 9pm on day2 to get checked and to ask for medicine. When the doctor asked me if I drink coffee, that's the only time I was able to connect it all together. Anyway, he gave me Omeprazole for the stomach acidity and propranolol for the palpitations.
