When I quit caffeine I noticed several things: 1. Anxiety completely diminished 2. Sleep quality was amazing. Fell asleep 3 hours earlier each night without a racing mind 3. Social anxiety went away 4. Stopped fidgeting - phone use went way down & I felt no need to be on it 5. Felt able to focus on one single task without being distracted by anxious thoughts 6. I was able to be much more present in the moment because my mind was calm 7. Appetite normalized & gut inflammation that had been a problem went away Quitting caffeine is hell but when you get to the other side you’ll feel like you’ve woken up from a very long dream. You’ll be a human “being” again, not a human “doing”. It takes away the bodies ability to generate energy organically. I never ever thought it would be the source of the issues listed above but it was.

@@krane15 U are in denial caffeine does cause them on some people, yes for others people it does not but this do not mean it's their own fault or their "already have issues", please, stop thinking like that drugs have side effects and everyone who suffer from them is just a normal being.

I decided to give up preworkout/caffiene a little over a 1 month ago due to anxiety. The first 3 weeks for me were honestly hell on earth, unmotivated, drowsy all day, would go to bed at 6-7pm, constantly hungry/anxious, and gassy. If you look up withdraw symptoms I had them all lol. But at this point, over a month later I can say its the best decision I've made and anybody who struggles with anxiety from time to time should consider stopping or cutting down significantly if you abuse it like I did. The first 2-3 are the worst, but seriously stick with it and just try to stay focused on the long run. Now I wake up with almost instant energy every morning, something I never felt while on caffiene. Also, stick to a good sleep schedule, meditate, do breathing exercises and focus on what makes you happy. Just like anything else the body needs time to rebalance itself, especially after 10+ years of caffiene. Here are a few supplements I took during and presently that helped alot. Irwin naturals Sunny Mood w/5-htp Irwin naturals Stress Defy Vitamin D You got this, you're gonna be feeling 10000% better before you know it.

@@zlimario2976 withdrawal was bad for about 3 weeks. I took some Advil to ease the pains. I used to drink Nespresso about 4 a day. Then switched to Starbucks VIA coffees, about 3 a day. Then switched to just plain Keureg brewed coffees. Tried French press, buying non acidic beans. Etc etc etc. Nothing made a difference. Bloating, gas, binge eating, GERD was the same with all. There comes a point you just have to accept it’s coffee. Period. Also lost about 10 lbs after stopping. Less eating. Less carb cravings.

I was only ever a 2 mug a day person, but I ate a lot of chocolate and had the odd "de-caff" too. You hear lots of stories about a 5 /7 day withdrawal, yet in Caffeine Blues, he reckons 3 weeks till things are "balanced out!" There are other videos on KZbin where people reckon it's taken them up to six months to feel "normal!" I'm totally with you on the sleep thing. My sleep is markedly better and I also get this overwhelming sense of tiredness in the late evening, which I still ignore and stay up too late watching KZbin videos! 🤣🤣

Some people develop anxiety in their lives. Some of it is genetic, some is acquired through lifestyle, but for most people anxiety is an "in the moment" feeling which they pretty much don't notice until the stressor hits them directly in the face. I have had GAD for 15 years, and quitting Alcohol and caffeine suppressed 90% of my symptoms completely. I drink coffee and alcohol a couple times per month knowing that the next day or later that day I will feel like sh1t.. As a doctor explained it to me, people with anxiety have a broken alarm system and they notice body noises and feelings more clearly than other people..but are otherwise the same as everyone else.. Alarms such as "feeling of doom", "shakiness", "restlessness", "unable to sleep/insomnia", frequent bathroom trips" and in some cases even "symptoms of a heart attack" without the actual attack.

From what I have learned over the years (and observing my coffee obsessed coworkers , with whom I've worked with for 12 years, for a week on and off schedule) coffee raises cortisol. Especially if one happens to work a non normal schedule, i.e, NOT sleeping at night as we are designed to ! This raises bodyfat and has a host of negative physical issues attached to it. I'm no expert, but I've worked with well over 200 people in the last 30 plus years who do shift work, and coffee is no good IMHO.

I’ve gone 22 years of my life without drinking coffee everyday. For about 3 months when I was 13 I had coffee almost everyday (summer frappe craze) but never touched it again after. About a week ago I picked up coffee to help with my studies in the morning (the virus online schooling is making me procrastinate). I’ve also become over weight so I’m trying to intermittent fast and have read that coffee aids in fasting. I only do one cup a day and have seen many benefits in energy for my classes and appetite suppressant for my fasting. I’m sure coffee has negative affects when abused like most things in life, but right now I have a fine balance and am content with it, if anything blessed to have it.

I used to have a major caffeine addiction coupled with a bad porn habit many years ago. The cravings for coffee were everywhere- passing a coffee shop, smelling coffee, seeing caffeine in a gas station and the routine of having one on the way to work, have a few at work and one in the way home... I was anxious and irritable all the time unless sedated by coffee and borderline was in rate mode. Breaking the habit took months of consistency but the headaches were the worst part. Extreme 10/10 head aches. Like a knife twisted behind your eyes. While I still have a coffee once in a while without cravings, giving it up was the best decisions and all of the benefits you mentioned are true- especially falling asleep within seconds of laying down.

I just had my first panic ever attack 3 months ago. Scared the hell out of me. I’ve gained substantial stress in the past 3 years and it isn’t going away anytime soon. I’ve been caffeine dependent since age 19 (Coffee, energy drinks, pre workout, etc.) and I’m now 27. Caffeine has enhanced my anxiety have weened myself down to 1 cup per day and have been contemplating quitting completely. I think I’m going to quit. I’m ready to take back control of my life. @@ZAPRandom Oh god I can't even begin to describe how much not having coffee has benefitted me......my natural enthusiasm for life is back, I have found different interests in life and I think I am breathing deeper. My digestion has gotten better, my skin is literally shining!! My dark circles are gone and for some reason I don't bloat anymore and the only thing I have excluded is coffee. Also I am not as hungry as I used to be before. I know coffee is supposed to kill hunger, but I think it was the opposite in my case. Also I am done by 9pm and usually sleep willingly by 10-10:30 and I wake up ON MY OWN really early. You are only going to experience benefits and more benefits. However in the beginning I remember sleeping A LOT. Follow your intuition, you'll be good. Also I did have mild tea with jaggery sometimes to substitute for coffee cravings.....that helped!!

I drank 3 to 4 cups of coffee daily for 5 years. It was the only thing fueling me since I had to get up at 3:30am to pursue my passion before my day job. I didn't realize how much it changed me until I stopped completely. I developed anxiety that would wake me up at night with my heart pounding... Made me insecure about myself.. And gave me problems in social encounters or job interviews. Once I quit coffee... That sense of dread and urgency finally started to leave my body. My boss says I'm a complely different person now. It was hard to focus for a couple weeks but mushroom tea has helped. I also weaned myself off by only having a sip in the morning. Sometimes I miss the energized happy feeling of it... And on occasion I'll have some.. But the underlying anxiety starts to creep up without me realizing it.

Excellent story sharing and testimony on this subject. I am weaning myself off caffiene right now so thank you so much for the great research and encouragement. I would like to have a cup every once and a while, but If it's a daily thing to wake up or to function, there is something drastically wrong with the way we are doing life. People should not just give up an addiction, but figure out the course of life their taking that demands the need for a drug like caffiene; then seek to change course immediately. God bless

I am not even caffïnefree for a week and I feel a lot less anxious and at ease. I contributed my anxiousness to my job, but I'm working like before, so that has not changed. I'm a lot more sleepy at night and sleep amazing and feel a lot more rested in the morning. Cool video, thx!

I totally can relate to your video. Everything u have mentioned was the same with me. Life is much better without it, first i thought i will die without it, but with time the cravings has gone. My main reason was why ive given up coffee was i got upset and angry so quick, if something went wrong, literally in a split of a second, than i got headaches from it, cos my blood preassure went sky high. After i could be crying from exhaustion, and horrible mood swings. Since ive given up coffee im much calmer and nicer, im like a little Buddha😁

thank you so much for this. when i quit caffeine like 10 days ago i started feeling calmer and felt like i was going back to normal after like 5 days. but then i read somewhere on internet that “caffeine doesn’t cause anxiety” bla bla and that suddenly made me feel so bad, i felt like all those things that went inside my head at the times i was drinking coffee was my fault and i thought i had to live with it. even after searching about caffeine allergy i thought doctors would not accept caffeine allergy as a reason and would just give me medication if i tried to get therapy. people need to accept that all bodies are reacting different to food. just because some people “can’t wake up” without coffee, it doesn’t mean that others may suffer from it. without knowing this, just don’t write about it on internet, it just kills people’s hope. now i’m much more hopeful that i’ll be getting better.

So happy to see you have stopped your over consumption of coffee. I stopped all caffeine beverages for 7 days about 2 months ago and I just went right back to it by drinking it about 3 to 4 times a day! Today I had only one large ice coffee from Mcdonalds, I wanted another one but I resisted and I started to become very moody and quite upset because I felt I needed it. SCARY! I drastically cut back on coffee, but at the same time I started to take evening walks right before going to sleep (in a safe neighborhood). I would start my routine, check my bed, brush my teeth, ;ower the thermostat etc. and then go for a walk. And at arriving home I went to bed as quick as possible. The result was that I slept better and woke up much better the next morning, more energized but calmer and happier at the same time.

I had panic attacks for 5 years about every week, sometimes several times a day. Eventually I couldn't go outside anymore because I was so afraid. I was a kid back then, I didn't drink coffee but I drank a lot of lemonade. Being on lots of sugar constantly gave me panic attacks too. Coffee definitely does the same and it's worth quitting if you suffer from agoraphobia like I did.

I consumed roughly 450 miligrams of coffee a day and quit cold turkey a week ago. The first 3 days I was very tired all day long. A week later though I feel amazing. I no longer crash in the afternoon during the last hour or two of work and my energy lasts until bed time. I'm more focused because my mind isn't rushing, this is invaluable because I legit listen to educational podcasts during the work day and now I feel like I actually learn something and can actually "listen" to them, Regular bowel movements, and sleep feels better(I always stopped using caffeine 10-12 hours before bed so it never affected it much) but I do wake up and im ready to go instead of waiting to dtink my coffee and that being what makes me "ready to go"

I can absolulety relate to your experience. I started drinking coffee quite intensively more than 10 years ago during the time I finished the university. Since then I was convinced that I need to drink coffee in the morning and afternoon to deliver results and find motivation. With the years working in stressful jobs as well I drank up to five cups of coffee a day. This was when I developed anxiety attacks that got worse and worse - I thougt it was soley because of the stressful enviroment and I quit my former job. Of course the anxiety attacks where reduced but still present from time to time. In retrospective they happened when I drank coffee or took painkillers containing coffein. Lately my whole digestion was suffering - my colon hurt all the time my stomach was hurting as well - I was tense all the time and felt no relaxation at all. By incident I stopped drinking coffee like I used to now 30 days ago. Reduced the amount to one cup a day - the difference blew me away. The tension disappeard and also the heavy tiredness when I didn't have my former amount of coffeein - my wife says I'am way more relaxed than before, the stomach and colon pain are now merely present, I haven't had this dizzyness and anxiety I felt on a regular basis already and I didn't grave for a beer in the evening to calm myself down. I also have more focus now and am able to remember things more quickly for longer periods. I will stick to one cup a day for enjoyment purposes soley but never should I return to my level of coffein I drank before. -> don't fool yourself, coffein is a drug and it's not harmless at all!

You have to be cautious when dealing with scientific studies. Sometimes there's big money behind them and when you're dealing with caffeine, you're not just dealing with coffee companies, you're also dealing with Coca Cola. I think that's why there's so many articles preaching about how great caffeine is for us. Given how nasty the withdrawl symptoms are and how negatively it affects our sleep, the thing that's so important for our restoration, it's a good indication that caffeine isn't something we should abuse. It should be respected and used sparingly.
