These DIY issues and how to deal with them are the very struggles we can all relate to. And it is also quite symbolic in a way. Most people somehow glue their "defective" parts of life together on a daily basis. Then it's kind of okay again, but at the same time it doesn't make any sense at all, but somehow it feels right at that moment and that's why it makes sense after all. Maybe, or not?!? Who knows, and who cares ? 😅

Well, you are doing something right. The video is an hour old and it already has close to 300 views, over 100 likes and loads of comments. Your style is hugely refreshing and quite captivating. Bernie has character, dont worry too much how he looks. Faded paint and old badges are marks of honour. just make sure he runs nicely and gets some nice treats every now and then (oil changes and some new spark plugs etc.) and he will look after you. If you do ever venture into Europe and anywhere near the Nurburgring.... would love to meet Bernie in person !! Keep going !! Do you !!

Charlie, dont worry about your decision to leave your job, even "neurotypical" (whatever that may actually be) would be nervous and take a long time to come to terms with the decision. BTW you can get 63 mm decals to replace the emblem on your center caps rather than replace the whole thing. 3M double sided tape for auto trim will hold the ones you have now on permanently. Keep smiling, keep your head up and have some fun with it along the way.

the friendly look of your companion Bernie drew my attention to your channel at first. Your creativity, your film editing, eloquence and sympathetic charisma have for sure not only captivated me. But I had no idea what everyday hurdles you have to deal with. Many years ago, I was allowed to work with children and young people with special needs. There were two autistic kids, but they were not able to live without outside help, could not speak, could not cope with touch and lived in their own world full of fears and at the same time suffered from a surge of emotions and painful loneliness.Their limitations would certainly be quite extreme, but I think it's great and important that these mental problems are also made visible. And you are doing a great job in a wonderfully heartwarming way. Thank you for sharing your challenges with us. Greetings from Germany

Hi Charlotte, I subscribed after watching your last video. I am nearly 72 now, and have a 1989 E34 535i that I have owned since 1995. It has not been on the road for many years, but I keep working on it from time to time and hope to see it back on the road one day, at 72 I feel time is against me. I have been restoring a 1998 840Ci for the last 8 years, which is my main project, my daily drive is a 2003 E46 325Ci M Sport, so I guess you could say I know a fair bit about BMW's. I bought 4 new genuine centre caps from BMW about 15 years ago, and to be honest they were disappointing for what they cost. They are quite thin and don't have any adhesive on them from new. They are slightly dished and are not completely flat like some have said. I stuck mine on with epoxy, but some of the new double sided tapes are unbelievably strong, the problem is that nowadays they have to stand up to a pressure wash. Anyhow, best of luck with the channel and life in general!

I had to get three of those wheel caps when I replaced the wheels on my E34 when I replaced the wheels (old ones were metric, which you can't get tyres for anymore). £25 each, really transformed the look of not only the wheels (which do need a refurb) but also the whole car

I'm no expert, but it kinda looks like the it all clips together from the back, clamping around that metal ring piece. Anyhow I'd suggest googling how to replace the badges, since it's a popular car there's bound to be a bunch of car groups with guides to do that sort of thing as well as other helpful tips. Personally I've always been a fan of the Haynes manuals, when tinkering with my own car, again I'm no expert I've only ever changed the oil or brake pads and other small jobs like that. Best of luck with Bernie.

Don't use hot glue, get some epoxy (eg JB Weld) from an auto or hardware store and it'll be fine. The hotglue won't hold with moisture and changes to temperature - more likely to come loose overnight from the cold than when driving. I believe some things happen for a reason, they are not just by chance or random. Not everything and nothing is destined to happen ala fate, but something beyond our comprehension and abilities is there. I bet my life there is, i just don't know what 😉 Next up get a plastic spatula, spray bottle, baby shampoo and some tint for those windows... yes baby shampoo. I'm not joking 😃
@CharlotteElizabeth30007 ай бұрын
Thank you for this! Someone else suggested epoxy as well, sad thing is I already have loads, just didn't think 😂🤦♀️

I earn six figures but the first one is 0, I've also worked with hundreds of people under me, I loved mowing those lawns at the graveyard. :P You didn't buy the wrong ones, they just need a little fettling and then you can stick them on, but ofc Bernie deserves the best. Lol just got to 7 minutes, great minds think alike. Wow look at the count now! Well done.

Haha thank you for this! Not sure how I'd feel working at a graveyard 😬 possibly peaceful, at times? Thanks again ❤️

@@CharlotteElizabeth3000 you're welcome all dads have a plethora of dad jokes. I've never actually worked in a graveyard, but if I had to work outside in public, it would most likely be in a graveyard in full death cosplay. I'd get my kicks creeping up on unsuspecting funeral attendees. Sorry, but it's the little things in life.

And then there was over three and a half thousand followers..... That was weirdly enjoyable and fascinating Charlie. And those beemer centre caps will surely stick. Question 1, what was the job you quit? Question 2, why the big break in your videos before eight months ago? And everything happens for a reason, even if the reason never shows up.

Thanks for this! I was a support worker for adults with additional needs. Also I only ever made videos occasionally (and all of my old ones are unlisted now) then just got superrr busy with work (the business I set up) along with the fact I didn't really know how to make a video, and whether whatever I made would be good enough for the internet 😅 hence why all the old ones are unlisted now haha

@CharlotteElizabeth3000 Roger that, makes sense now, thank you. Unless it is a secret, what's your business? I am going to watch your autism diagnosis as an adult video next, l "suspect" l may be too. PS: your videos are most certainly good enough!

I'm reading Dan Browns The lost Symbol again and its got a cool quote about tattoos: "The goal of tattooing was never beauty...humans have tattooed themselves as a way of offering up their bodies in partial sacrifice, enduring the physical pain of embellishment and emerging changed beings." gave me a different perspective on the whole thing! You can tell i'm fun at parties by the way i think of random quotes from books hahahah
