my favorite is these are the same people that would have instantly picked up on us being autistic in school and bullied us for being weird. but if you say you're autistic and point out anything neutral or positive you're clearly faking it for attention. make it make sense!

This is such a good point that I hadn't even thought of 🤦♀️ you're completely right though, as I had a very similar experience in school!

@CharlotteElizabeth3000 just to add, "the fact that autism has such a big range, and doctors are not all aware, and parents would put it down to kids being difficult or odd , that no one really picks up on it. And yes people can be mean, if people are different, people need to be all the same, people can't be who they want to be, which is a huge shame. All I can say, is parents where told about everything, then they would pick up on things more quickly.

@hemn8682 no not at all. Basically, it would be a good idea that people had the knowledge in the first place to help diagnose symptoms. That's all. Sorry that I didn't make sense.

My daughter goes to a club that caters for children with any disability. She is autistic. She was diagnosed with specialists and it took 5 years to get the diagnosis, and she's now 9 years old. There are kids who are there that are mildly autistic, and those that are so far on the spectrum that they need helpers with every aspect of their lives. If you spoke to her, you wouldn't really know until she gets onto a topic she loves...then...good luck, takes an age to get her to stop. She gets support in school. Her full diagnosis is - Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalcula. She really wants to be "normal" and I feel for her, but if she was "normal" she wouldn't be the loving little girl that she is. We help her understand that what she has doesn't define who she is, just helps people understand her behaviours.

Sitting here with my wife and company all asleep at 11:34pm and literally LOL’d loud enough to wake them up when you grabbed the guitar🤟🤣 I guess it's also incredibly amazing how many perfectly function 53 year old guys and gals have Autism/ADD? Has anyone taken the time to realize that there very well may be more people being diagnosed as a result of people like you(Charlotte) who have been brave enough to relate your personal experiences to the world? I'll go ahead and answer my own question🤪 That is definitely one of the reasons! Being diagnosed with Autism/ADD Inattentive at 51 (about 3 years ago) has shed light on a ton of issues my own brand of Neurodivergence has served up for almost 54 years.

I can't put comments on Tiktok because I don't want them to know I exist. But there were some really nice comments. "I can't put it back on the ground because it might feel rejected." It probably wouldn't. But what if it actually is a self aware discarded walnut?
@CharlotteElizabeth30008 ай бұрын
Oh no, but now I'll feel bad for every walnut I see in the wild 👀 there were some great comments on that video for sure! The nasty ones did amuse me though. I still haven't been back to that platform, not sure if I really like it to be honest 😬
@matthewkilner8 ай бұрын
@@CharlotteElizabeth3000 It's probably useful for expanding your viewership and cross-pollinating back into KZbin. But also it's a horrible place where reality ostensibly doesn't matter as much as the performance. It's run by an organisation with questionable motives too. Which you could probably say about most big media platforms to differing degrees. I think I would probably think about it as an advertising platform. Regarding the walnuts - I also think this about tennis balls that have been discarded by dogs. But unfortunately for them, they're also really disgusting and not very decorative. So until we find a use for them, they're doomed to rot under brambles and in the corners of urban green spaces.

I've watched almost all of your videos now and cannot imagine why anybody would hate on you, at least, not any decent human as any kind of reasonable response. In fact, the more I watch, the more I connect with you - the more I am inclined to feel the polar opposite. I'm gonna put this here because it's so unusual for me, but watching you I can now understand the "celebrity crush" phenomenon. I've never had that kind of reaction and I think it's because you AREN'T a celebrity - but the most wonderfully down to Earth, considered and considerate, genuine soul I've seen on ANY kind of media platform for a VERY long time. Even though everything I'm writing here is sincere and from the heart - I still feel kinda weird writing it. I think because in your videos you are so wonderfully genuine, sincere and giving of yourself that it feels as though we are having a conversation in the real world, and thus I can be honest, but also as though it is a mutual connection. Which obviously I know it isn't. I might have to unsub from your channel because if I feel weird about this then you almost certainly will reading this and that'd be the last thing I want - to make you uncomfortable in any way. To illucidate there are so many overlaps in our lives from the little things, like making a cafetiere of real coffee in a morning, to how you enjoy collecting things. Is "enjoy" the right word? 'Feel compelled to out of some inexplicable interest' might be a better turn of phrase. Or, for example - your appreciation of Bernie's engine, I bought a car specifically because I like the engine note. I love, and share, your obvious horticultural interest and am just a little jealous of all that space you have for simply growing stuff 😁 I keep having to remind myself I'm watching a video not chatting with a lovely young lady in real life. Your musical talent is clear too, I wouldn't be surprised if you wrote a soulful folk song with your guitar and it became a hit. There is a strong possibility I'm on the spectrum too, but being a child of a decade or so before you I don't think autism was anywhere near as widely recognized, if even known at all. Right, enough of my babbling - you're gonna think I'm a stalker or something 😂 I swear I'm not, but then wouldn't a stalker say that?! 🤔 On a closing note - whomever you give your heart to at a close, interpersonal level is one blessed individual and I hope they appreciate just how incredibly special you are! Stay wonderful, you bring light into many people's lives - the growth of your channel is testimony to that. Thank you for adding more than a little ray of sunshine into mine!!

I've just watched several of your videos back to back and I think comedy skits may be your "thing" You're not camera shy, rather photogenic and have a good sense of humour (eg the acoustic bit) plus much of that humour is universal (not specific to autism, ie wider target audience) I could totally picture you doing skits where you play multiple roles/characters, take a look at Twizz Fizz to see what i mean. You have all the ingredients, you just need a recipe! Anyhoo just my 2 cents... Or $5 adjusted for inflation 😉

You really should give more credence to the phalanx of brave people who came forward to say something completely unique, and totally different from what everyone else is saying at the same time-- I mean, imagine how smart you'd have to be to know _just_ what to say without reading any of the other comments?
