Day 13 of my nicotine free journey. The past 13 days have been the best times of my life. I go to the gym everyday. I visit forests, parks, lakes or anything nature everyday. I developed new hobbies that I never knew I could have. I started learning about plants, insects, birds and animals. I filmed and studied them. I made many new friends who are non smokers and visited many new restaurants and tried many new activities. The extra money I have from not smoking. I spend on shopping. I’m amazed at how much unchartered ground I explored in the last 13 days. Doing all these while still working an occasional stressful full time job too. Thanks Chris for your advice. By changing my routine, I realised and actualised the benefits of not smoking. I’m looking forward for more positives in my life!

I am 64 years old and your videos are an inspiration. I am smoke free 76 days and I used the vape to get me through a difficult time. I don't use the vape now. I've been smoking for 50 years. Thank you so much for making the videos. I am not on Facebook and can't access the finding freedom 1.

Hi Chris, Day 4 here cold turkey quit smoking. You know what I'm really tired of smoking is doing the same ritual everyday over and over again. I'm glad I don't have to ever do it again. Thank you.

Hi Chris I smoked for 40 years and tomorrow is my anniversary. I am going to give myself the best present I can think of. I am not quitting smoking, instead I am going to choose health and well being. I have watched many of your videos and am going to apply all the tools that you have so clearly and freely given. I find your methods and advice awe inspiring and cant wait to do this. I will let you know how I am doing. Thanks again Robbie

Hello Chris, I first left a comment on your February 10th video: Don't Wish For It - Work For It. I'm a 63 year-old man who has smoked since I was 12 years old. I seem to refuse to quit smoking. I go to bed with no cigarettes in the house, and wake up intending to spend the day smoke-free, but before the afternoon is out, I go out to buy a pack. And I think, "Ill try again tomorrow." I've listened to Alan Carr's audio book numerous times. I still do from time to time. I've watched literally hundreds (or at least a hundred or more) quit videos by professionals and everyday people...people like you! And I'll continue to watch new new videos as they present themselves. Without waiting until I'm diseased and dying, I don't know what to do to take myself seriously. But I know that I have to make quitting the most important goal in my life in order to make it a reality. Sincerely, Rich, in Columbus, Ohio

Hi Rich, yes I remember your last comment, it's great to hear from you. Sorry to hear you've still been having such a hard time. The good news is that if you can make it all the way through the morning and into the afternoon, you've already proven you can make it, if you can find a way to keep up what works for you to get through those first few hours then you can make it through the next few hours, too. I remember in my early quit attempts being driven to distraction by the need to smoke and not being able to focus on anything else, but riding through that does bring us out on the other side where the craving and obsession disappears. Do you have a clear idea in mind of what you want to gain from quitting smoking? What life will look like for you and how you'll feel? Sometimes having a clear picture of what we're working towards can be a huge motivator for getting us through the most painful parts of our journey.

If it helps... I'm a 60 year old man and a smoker since 16 years of age. My doctor, 3 months ago, said 'let's face it. Both you and I know you're not going to quit smoking' That did it. I told him to write me for Chantix. I am currently 8 days without a cigarette. Make yourself accountable. When you plan to try to quit.... tell everyone you know who cares. Give them the opportunity to support you. Best of luck. I think we can do it. Bill

I was only a smoker for about 2 years. Its been a month and I was able to do it by staying at a relative's house. A change in scenery for a week or so might help.

It's amazing the things we find no longer do us any good when we quit. For me it was more how coffee made me feel than the taste but I was like you - seven or eight cups a day down to most of my days just drinking water and decaff tea. Congrats on 43 days, keep up the great work :)

I have been smoking for slightly over 30 years and this is relevant and timely for me. Not smoked for about 2 months due to Covid and since I survived Id be a fool to not take this benefit that's the silver lining from being so sick. Didn't want to quit and don't care about that because I point blank am just going to make myself. Thank you for your down to earth and practical , very essential pointers.

Thank you so much for your videos. It's been an amazing perspective-changer on my quitting journey. I've tried to quit several times before, but never tried putting down the stick. I'm one week smokeless now, and this feels way different than my last attempts.

No problem :) Going through them one at a time certainly helped me too. Focussing on what's in front of us rather than trying to change everything at once can make a big difference :) Hope the rest of your quit journey is going well :)

Do a video of cutting out coffee while trying to quit if you haven’t. I’ve watched only about 10 of your videos to date, but getting through them all in time. I like your approach and honesty, in Ireland every time I try to quit the adverts on TV for Nicotine replacements give me craving to smoke, I’m sure that’s the plan🤯😤

I’ve broke the ‘habit’ I’ve gone cold turkey, I am convinced I don’t want to smoke again. I was inspired that you said the only time you want to smoke is to relieve the discomfort you feel whilst trying to break the cycle... I go cold turkey and 3 rd day I need to smoke just to get relief from the crap which I know will clear... I’ve been going through this stopstart agony.. I know what I need to do so why don’t I? I am so annoyed with myself! I hAve stopped in the past for 3 years and I was so fit so KNOW that there is life after nicotine... just feeling a bit weak from all my attempts

I like your videos on smoking Chris.... you make a lot of sense. I can relate to what you say.... getting there, it’s very difficult but your vids are helping. Just need to take the plunge! 🥺 it is the hardest addiction to break in the world, but also the most insidious. Quit alcohol 3 years ago, just want to be free of this. 😔

Hey Chris, I find after eating is when I really think about smoking. I have found the urge passes quickly. Oddly, I often also feel nausea at the same time as the urge to smoke comes on. I wondered if you experienced nausea in the beginning when you quit. Thanks again for all your great videos. You're so inspiring in the way you deliver your message. Seeing you from the beginning of your journey until now brings such a message of hope for a happier way of life. :)

Hi Chris, Thank you so much for your video's they help me a lot. Im on day 14 and whilst I have moments where I feel I have it licked the majority of the time I have this empty sad feeling inside of me. I can cry at the drop of a hat, I cant seem to get motivated about anything and I generally feel depressed. I had smoked for 38 years starting at the age of 12. The main reason I quit is that towards the end I was smoking so much and still not feeling satisfied. I am a single mum and my 14 year old daughter started smoking last year. This just breaks my heart and I thought I have to quit to lead by example rather than be a hypocrite. Was wondering if you suffered from depression and whether you know if this will improove over time. Ohh and I think you are an amazing funny loving caring person with a big heart, thank you for being who you are.

Hi Nat, sorry it took me a while to get back to you. Thank you so much for your kind words..I'm so sorry to hear about the struggle you've been having. Hearing about the depression you've been going through and your heartbreak really touched me and inspired me to make a video..I've just finished recording something about depression and quitting smoking. It should be up a few hours after I post this comment. Hang on in there, it does get better!

Hi Chris... Well I have read Allen Carr's book and found it to be very good... I did stop for a day but like you said in another of your videos it can sometimes take a bit of extra help to fully stop... Just wanted to tell you how much I love watching your videos and believe that this is where my extra help will be coming from... So informative and I can relate to everything you say.. on every level.. I haved watched all your diary videos on when you were giving up and to look at you now you look sensational... glowing and radiant... I too hope to achieve this as well when I stop... I am well aware of the hundreds of videos out there on you tube about giving up smoking but you are the person that I keep tuning into as I believe it is you that will help me kick this dreadful addiction. Thanks so much Chris and I will keep you posted on how things are going.. Corinne 🙂

Here's wishing you every success with your quit attempt and a long, happy smoke free life - You definitely deserve it! And yes, do keep me updated, would love to hear from you!

Love your videos. They are helping tremendously. Can you talk about the difference in tongue health. I’ve noticed my tongue has changed from white back to pink very quickly and that my tongue doesn’t feel enlarged or inflamed now. I have what looks like cracks on the centre of my to glue but I think they are creases from puffing. They looked more noticeable when my tongue was white. It try scrubbing if but it only came off so much then went back to white again. Listening to your videos on auto play on my headphones have stopped me from having one on a few occasions. I know I’m going to do it this time. It’s my priority and I’m already feeling a lot better. I’m wearing patches so I’m still dependent. Thanks Chris you seem like a lovely guy 😊
