As a male who has sensory and anxiety issues, the story about the male roommate really gets to me. I mean SERIOUSLY! WIPE YOUR DAMNED PISS OFF THE TOILET SEAT! IT'S NOT THAT HARD!
@Crow_Smith

I get [I don't accept but I get] men who pee on the seat. WOMEN who do it are inexcusable ESPECIALLY in a shared house. There is so little you can get from a toilet seat it makes NO SENSE not to sit down. And at least men only get a dribble on it, women SOAK it and it drives me nuts. [Plus the average seat that is slanted inwards actually helps limit bacteria on it and urine is sterile so most seats aren't worth the hover!] But yes, clean up after yourself. I mean if you pee on the seat THAT'S /YOUR/ PEE, you're going to wash your hands anyway - so just put yourself away, then wipe the seat, toss the paper in the toilet and flush. IT'S SO EASY.

Heard a story a few weeks ago where a 12 yo girl (I think) accused her 17 yo (I think) cousin of very inappropriate touching her. The entire family and friends disowned him. Kicked him out, the works. It was really sad listening to everything he went through. Years later his mom contacted him to say sorry. At a family get together it was brought up and the girl said yeah I must had dreamed it or something. It never happened. She had forgotten all about it while his life had been a downhill struggle.

For the the kid with the headphones. I grew up and still deal with my mother who is exactly like that. We might not have all the details, but his home life sounds exactly like mine was growing up and still is. I'm on his side with what little context we have. My mother is awfully lazy at times and will call me down the hall for the smallest things. (She has not worked a job in the past 12 years or so, probably more) She also has to always resort to shouting for anything even if you're just in the room next to her. The simple option of "just go talk to them/get them" isn't a thing. Waking people up in the morning? Shout at the top of your lungs from any point in the house/at their room door at them.

When I was a kid, I had a similar problem. I homeschooled the last three years of high school so it was difficult to get work done. So I would go to work an hour early, sit in the employees lounge, and actually get work done and have the moment of peace I needed. The Managers were understanding (provided I didn't clock in early), and I had the added bonus of a transition period between home life and work life. The kid is 15 - so he might have to tolerate it a little longer before he can find a job and do that. Or maybe he can join an activity that allows him to get out for a while.

Im so sorry you have to deal with this. I grew up with that too. Im almost 50 and im still doing alot of the "parenting" to my siblings (im the oldest of 5) and i was 7 yrs old and cooking mac n cheese or scrambled eggs for my siblings, doing dishes, cleaning the house, babysitting (parenting) 24/7 bcz my mom couldn't handle the stress of 5 kids all under the age of 7. Everything was my fault. But she didnt just yell from the other room. She would yell to come here, and if it wasnt to bring her something, it was to "just handle that argument" and we all know how THAT goes! But then she would go silent and when that happened, i knew what to expect.. on the rare occasions that we got to see our dad, after working 3 jobs, he would come home and get "a list" of all the "disobedience" and took names.. and then we had to line up for the belt! I cant tell you how many times i would get back in line, to spare one or more of my siblings. My dad had to teach me to drive when i was 10, bcz he was never able to be home, and my mom, when she just couldn't handle us kids and the noise, she would "faint/pass out" and since we only lived half a mile from the hospital, my dad felt it was ok (this was the 1980's) for me to drag my mom to the car, get her in it, and drive her to the hospital. Thankgod i only had to do that once! But when we got there, she magically was able to get out and go inside by herself, so that i could go back home and take care of the other 4 kids. My mom was a different person back then. But i didnt have a childhood. It was ok for her to yell, but due to her "constant migraines", i had ro run the house AND keep it silent!! It was a life of a servant for getting her a diet coke when she's literally 5 feet from the fridge, and im downstairs doing laundry, or doing dishes, etc. She refused to parent back then. I absolutely feel your pain. And im so very sorry that you are dealing with it too! If you want any advice on certain issues, id be happy to help! My mother is an amazing woman now, still a bit "expectant", but nothing like she was back then. I hope the best for you with your family. Just remember, nothing is forever and people CAN change! Some of them just need to be pushed into it! 😉 lol.

7:59 doesn’t matter if he IS escaping and not doing his chores. SHE is the adult. SHE should be sitting him down and telling him no electronics until his chores and homework are done. SHE is supposed to be TEACHING HIM how to balance responsibilities and relaxation. And it doesn’t matter if the father is “used to it.” HE sees something is wrong. HE is also an adult. HE is supposed to protect his child and help his wife raise said child into a functioning adult. HE is supposed to be the one pulling his wife aside and saying “obviously yelling at him isn’t working, we need to talk to him about things like he’s an actual person.” HE should be talking to his child about ways to balance responsibilities and relaxation and telling him to make sure all his responsibilities are taken care of before he starts doing relaxation things. The PARENTS in this situation ARE NOT parenting. The son can’t just guess. They need to TEACH HIM how to talk, but screaming at him and letting him be screamed at is only teaching him that mom is a screaming harpy and dad is a spineless coward, so there is no point in talking to them. Also, if this WAS about the son shirking his responsibilities, why wouldn’t the father say that? Why would he basically just say “you know how she is, just ignore her” and not “if you would do your chores like your supposed to, she wouldn’t yell at you”? The mother is just acting psychotic and the father is refusing to stick up for his son so as to not turn her rage on himself. That’s all there is to it.

We also need more history on the situation. I can’t fully blame the parents while not knowing if they tried talking to him in the past. @alexismyers6053

@@Stellumine kids don’t know HOW to talk to people about issues they’re having with one another. That’s for the parents to TEACH them by EXAMPLE. Kids are even less likely to talk to a parent who does nothing but yell and scream at them. Parents can make mistakes, but they also must LEARN from those mistakes. Kids should NOT be the ones pointing out these mistakes because kids don’t know the stresses adults can be under and it also isn’t the job of the CHILD to teach the ADULTS around them. It is the job of other adults in the child’s life (such as their other parent or other ADULT family members) to tell a parent when they’re being too much.
@alexismyers6053
@alexismyers6053 Жыл бұрын
@@jolteon345 parents should not constantly yell at children. They are the authority figure and their yelling causes much more stress than if it was anyone else. It can cause anxiety issues with kids and make them people pleasers because they’re so scared they’ll be yelled at. At the same time, the mother IS the authority figure. If this is about the child not doing what he’s told to do, then she needs to be laying down rules and consequences to make him do those things. No phone/laptop/television/game console until chores and homework are done, and then grounding him from these things for a week or so if he ignores the rule. She can a,so tell him that he’s allowed to listen to music or podcasts or videos that don’t rely on images while he does his homework or chores so long as they aren’t too distracting. That would be a healthy middle and might even encourage him to do these things, IF that is the issue. Parents need to TEACH their kids and keeps each other in check. One parent screaming at the child while the other sits back and watches is NOT healthy parenting, even if the child is doing something wrong.

The one about the dog in the hot car. I totally believe people forget about the wellbeing of their pets. I volunteer at a cat shelter. As I was about to head home, I noticed a cat in a carrier and asked about him. He's 14 years old, lived with one woman his whole life, and as she had gotten older, she'd forgotten to feed him. The shelter owner was worried that he wouldn't make it, so I brought him back to my house to foster. We'll, it's a forever foster now, he's doing wonderfully. Yeah, people hate getting cheated on, especially if something like this pops out of thin air one day. BUT.. Like.. I dunno, this just smells like shit to me. Yes, the kid went too far, MUCH too far, but at the same time I can't help but feel like mommy and daddy are also at a huge fault themselves for actually outright saying in their heads "oh shit, this must be true if my LITERAL KID tells me so!", instead of THINKING a little bit. It feels incredibly dumb and I'm not sure whether to feel sorry for them or not. I mean, yes, I get they TRIED to talk about this but neither of them would really listen.. But if you were to just stop for a moment and get yourself a moment to calm the frick down, talk about it all for a bit, but CALMLY and THEN talk to the kid, like, "hey uh, about that "other gf" your dad is meeting.." and simply push them a bit to question them about it you would probably easily find out the kid just lied. It is no one's but your own fault that led up to you guys getting actually divorced over this. I would assume a pair of reasonable adults to calm down, talk everything all the way through in as good of moods and environments as possible, question the kid some more about the supposed gf, like, do they know what they look like, did they see them coming over.. But if you just can not listen to each other and throw accusations over emotions, then like.. Excuse me? What do you want me to say?

Back in college my apartment was party central. Almost every time I had friends over someone had peed all over the seat and down the front of the bowl, and unfortunately my bathroom was carpeted so it would soak into the floor. It took months of me slowly eliminating who the offender could be based on which guys had been there each time. Once I finally figured it out I confronted him and his excuse was he was just too lazy to lift the seat and to aim. Like bro, you managed to make it to adulthood and got into a good university and you can't lift a goddamn toilet seat?! You acknowledge that you are too lazy to lift a toilet seat to pee, and its ok. Bcz since we are friends, let me help you make it easier! We respect the fact you are a lazy a-hole when it comes to the most simple task in life, so here, these are a gift from me and the rest of the house! You dont have a chouce in this matter bcz you dont give us a choice in this matter. So you will wear these when you are in this house/apt and will not be allowed to PEE in the toilet anymore, until you learn to lift the lid and aim! Nothing more will be said about this, you do not have a choice. If we find that you have peed on the toilet seat, and we end up sitting in it, our only option will be to leave the bathroom and pee on you or your bed, if you've left already. So please, for the love of urination.. take the diapers to heart! They will prevent you from other peoples urine, unlike the rest of us who are DONE being peed on by YOU!!" Then just let the trash take itself out from there! Lol. Trust me.. you would've felt much better after getting that all out. And he will have either moved out, or.. well, lets just say the "piss-war" would be no more! Being too lazy to lift a lid to urinate and peeing on the seat without cleaning it off, is no different than literally being peed on by that person. Eye for an eye! And im not religious, but i know the saying is in the bible "an eye for an eye"! So.. 🤷‍♀️😁 lol. Shoulda, woulda, coulda,.. i know its in the past now, but damn its a nice thought! She usually starts out saying my name as if I were nearby, which I usually am, just with headphones, but she says it louder and louder until I respond and approach her if she needs me. Normally, she doesn't yell unless she's absolutely pissed, but recently she's had to yell more often because of all this new technological crap that we don't really need, and she doesn't like it. Whenever she needs to get mine or my brother's attention, she usually yells my brother's name because we live in a split level house and he works in the basement on his VHS tapes and VCRs and all that old technology. He usually has multiple tapes playing at the same time on multiple CRT screens, so my grandmother needs to literally shout to.get his attention. All I need to do is stomp on the floor a few times and he responds without fail. My grandmother still hasn't caught on, and I really think it would allow her to get his attention more reliably than just using vocalizations to attempt an attention grab.

This might be an extreme point of view, but I think as a child eye-for-an-eye is the right escalation, if your parents are not listening to your logic. E.g. in the controller scenario, make it clear that you will now follow the same standard they set for your brother, and slowly and "accidentally" scrape, break and dent every item you touch in their house, until they get the message. If they don't, continue. Try to get secret recordings, if they lash out. You are kids in the 2020s, spy tech is cheap. And then put those recordings on social media.

With the second dog story... it just reminds me of a lot of situations I've seen on the Internet...where the child cares a lot more about the "family pet" than the parents... Either the parents sees it as the child's toy and refuses to take it to the vet "we can just get a new one" or they threaten to give it away for little to no reason... This is why I don't recommend kids beg their parents for pets... Because there is a chance they'll get one... but not let it have the care it needs.

TW: mention of animal death 1:05 If this ever happens or you see this happening, BREAK THE WINDOWS. My mom saw this happen in real life, and i was with her but it didn't end this way. It was a little french bull dog stuck in a car with it being 114 degrees temp measure when they pulled her out. My mom called the police to see if she could break the window and they said she would be charged for breaking the property, and if she removed the dog it would be property theft. After it was too late and the dog had already passed, they arrived and said she wouldn't have been charged, there was a miscommunication. The women left her dog in the car while she was AT WORK and "checked on her every 15 minutes", after it having been an hour without her checking that led to that poor dog's death. We think about it often and have learned that if this happens again, we are breaking some windows. I hope that if someone else ever comes across a dog in a hot car, they will think of this and save it.

Better yet, do not leave them in a car at all. I can easily get behind (understand) the people who close their car windows all the way up while leaving a pet inside... To be honest, there is no good solution to keeping a pet in your car in such circumstances. You either risk getting health or even life of your pet if you do actually care for them in the first place OR you risk theft of the car, eventually just getting of some big time valuables stolen from it. While not too many regular thiefs have skills to get a car without keys inside of it working, it is always a possibility and yes, the animal's death is obviously the worse outcome, as it is a lost life of a living creature, you can still just as well lose a lot of cash instead and neither of those outcomes would be really preferable to anyone. So, yes, I can see why some people would do that, even if they do not wish anything bad to actually happen and do care for their pets. I just think it is much better to... Honestly, I'm not sure. Do something else entirely, anything but that at least.

I refuse to shop at petco because of an incident with my family's dog. Full disclosure it is mostly pettyness on our part for refusing to go back there, and the fualt is on the employee not petco. Basically our adult chocolate lab was being groomed and the groomer forced her into a kennel that was to small for her. When the dog wouldn't go in the kennel, (you know, because they didn't fit) the groomer twisted our dog's tail and forced her in the kennel. My dad was enraged and raised hell when he picked her up because when he picked her up her tail was broken and bent at an angle it souldn't have.

8:05 - INCORRECT, it is NOT to keep the homeless out. It's to pay for the costs involved in running such places. In Sweden it costs to use public toilets there. Same in some fast-food restaurants. The cost is around a 25 cents for those in the US, but can go upto 50 cents. 20p in the UK is 25cents in the US. So trying to say its to keep homeless out is a load of utter BS, its to help with the cost to maintain such places. 12:25 - This is why you invest in travel insurance and have everything covered, so if something like this happens, which is completely out of your control, you can get everything covered under your insurance. Of course, when it comes to places like the US, simply take the airline to court for their failure to supply alternate methods of travels because you cant tell me that the airline couldnt have provided flights to another airport, then a flight from there to the other airport. That being said, airline travel is F-d up anyway these days because they simply dont have the pilots or ground crew. 13:05 - That sounds much like here in Australia with Hobart getting a stadium, which is costing AU$715mil to build during a time of homelessness in the state of Tasmania. Of course according to reviews they are looking at long term income that could be generated, I say could be because with the cost of living going up, I highly doubt anyone would be able to afford to go to any football or cricket game held there. 25:55 - Tell us this isnt America by not telling us this is happening in America. Simple, the fact you are being charged for an Electronic Statement, let alone being charged for the removal of tree limbs and such, a job which OP could easily have done themselves, or had family help them along with neighbors, but their landlord decided to send someone to do the cleanup, then thought they could pass the charges on to their tenant. That is when as a tenant you check your lease agreement, and if there is no such charge listed, tell him to politely F-Off, and if he then decides to evict, cause problems such as taking him to court over the matter. In the meantime, as long as you keep it all factual, speak to your neighbors and other places, because the moment he tries to get you evicted, which would be hard to do, if you dont live in a crappy state and have have been paying your rent amount each month, that very publicity is going to haunt him for the rest of the time you are there. Oh, and make sure to draw any eviction period out, more so by disputing the eviction. Also to add, if said rent includes utilities such as power and water, and there is no limit to their usage, well, nothing wrong in leaving the water running in the bathroom when you go out for the day, or starting up your own crypto farm.

If you don't, you might come back from deployment to find your animal was given to a shelter (perhaps to be euthanized) or to a shite owner.
