For the Not Stealing Food thing: I work swing shift and had to get into it with a guest of my roommate since he kept eating what was left out for me. I'm notoriously bad at remembering to eat (thanks to not having much food growing up) so my roommates always make sure there's something easy to heat up at halfpast midnight so I'll eat. The guest had this explained the first 2 times he took my food. The third time I mentioned it to one of my roommates and the guest got angry at ME for daring to bring up a recurring issue when he'd been staying for free for weeks.

15:00 I once had a roommate who would constantly use and mistreat my stuff. After confronting him, he said oh sorry, yet continued to do it. After coming home one evening I discovered dirty cutlery, put away in the clean cutlery drawer, this was my cutlery. As he was being kicked out at the end of the month anyway after I had a word with my landlord, I decided to move everything of mine from all common areas, including the kitchen into my room. My room was basically a storage unit for the rest of the month. Their cleanliness and hygiene was virtually nonexistent meaning I considered all open food and condiments in the fridge and cupboards to be compromised resulting in having to throw all of it into the garbage. I did however, preserve his access to all cleaning products which were left completely untouched even after he had covered the bathroom in vomit. Thankfully, my landlord was very supportive and insured his quick eviction. I reflect on that as the month of hell.

The "I used 'Audio' as my opening word" post is for Wordle. You just guess a five letter word and it tells you if your guess has any letters in common and if theyre in the right place. Since a vast majority of words will have a vowel and "Audio" is almost entirely vowels, it can help narrow down things a lot for a first guess. A college in my town tried to impliment a policy change and fine like the one in this video. Since my tuition fees were already paid ahead of time via a student loan, I arranged with my bank to open a new account and switch it to become my main account. Because there was no way in hell I'm paying for someone else's property damage. Loan repayments and other things went into/out of that instead, leaving the older account to accumulate the fines. I warned my bank of what they were doing, and hilariously after several fines were attempted to be taken, the banks fraud department contacted the college and told them they were about to take them to court for obvious fraudulent claims. Apparently I wasn't the only student of that college with this bank, and they took evidence from all their accounts too. And since we students hadn't signed any agreement to this policy, and the policy itself wasn't legally enforceable, it actually counted as fraud. That policy suddenly got removed and we got emails saying any money taken would be returned. LOL sometimes I love my bank.

13:40 Yeah, here in Italy the emergency service sucks most of the time, especially lately. It's very underfunded, and usually they put there untrained workers, just because they don't have anyone else available. It is not always like that, but it happened lately that even during calls involving homicide the emergency service didn't know how to respond and didn't took the victim seriously. Btw you can't really expect someone in Italy to know english well, it is studied (badly) in school, but not very used in everyday life

1:55: In Wordle, you have to guess the 5-letter word. The black means those letters aren't in the target word, yellow they're in it but not the right place, and green means right letter, right place. So basically like Mastermind, but for words. Basically, the OP used the same starting word every day, and the one time they didn't, it was the target word, so she could have gotten it in one guess.

I may be wrong but I believe the first thing with the doors with the QR codes is just a mistake on the store's part. I believe they're supposed to scan those and there's a setup program to have the doors display what's in the case. Something about the doors being built a certain way so that they retain heat and use less energy, but they're opaque. Hence, the screens that are supposed to show you what's inside. Again, I could be wrong, but I saw something about doors like this a while back and I think that's the explanation. Edit: After doing a little Googling, it seems they're just a way for stores to make ad revenue by showing ads on them occasionally. Which is dumb because when the ads are playing, it's obviously not showing you what's in the case. Corporate greed.

No no, you're correct. This is the stores fault for not finishing the set up on these doors. The problem: Modern glass beverage doors are extremely inefficient. Solution: Higher quality opaque insulated doors, with built in screen to display what is behind the door. This is NOT expecting YOU the customer to scan the door yourself.
@RookMeAmadeus Жыл бұрын
@@Z51MAELSTROM In concept, these would be a great idea. But it relies on the store setting them up properly and keeping them and the stock inside maintained so they CORRECTLY show what's in the case. So either you see messages like this, or go to open the door and find the drinks inside are COMPLETELY different from what the door says they are.

So I’d go in for like 2 or 3 items, and I’d be stuck behind half a dozen people with FULL trolleys. I have some context for the Italian one. It depends on which number you called. If you called the firefighter's number (115) they most likely wouldn't speak English as you get directed to the nearest fire station. The number you need to call is I believe 112. It's the international number for emergencies in Europe. I've been to their call centers in my town Genova where they explained how it works. The way it works is you call in and explain the emergency. Only after you get redirected to the right emergency service branch. Do you need firefighters? Or do you need law enforcement or police? They'll hook you to the branch that most fits your emergency. Now this comes with a nifty feature/law. Since this is a number you can dial across the EU, no matter how well does the operator speak your language, if you're not native to the country or the country's citizen but a tourist, by law you have to have an interpreter on call. They're on call interpreters as in they only work when there's work needed rather than a 9-5 job. So that guy might've screwed himself over. We had to call them once to inform them there was a manhole with a stream of water coming out. Quite a big one. But since we're Italians or at least my mom speaks in Italian very well as she's lived here half of her life already, it was easy peasy. But for the ones that don't know... Stand your ground. You are legally required an interpreter on call if you're a foreigner. Or don't speak the local language to a native's degree.

You got it right. I am italian, if you call 115, or any other specific emergency number, you're going to get local dispatchers answering your call. We as a population are pretty dumb/badly educated overall but holy cow is our level of especially english absolutely subpar for an EU country.

10:23 reminded of the time I was in third grade and another kid asked me for a pencil. I hated him because he and his friends would always pick on me, so naturally, my answer was a quick and firm “no.” And instead of “okay” or even throwing an insult like he usually would, he winds up and smacks me on the back as hard as possible. When I got home my parents saw it (I was wearing a tank top) and my dad made me take my shirt off for pictures so he could report it to the school admins. Nothing was done about it because I’m pretty sure one of said admins was his mom or aunt or something. Dad showed her the picture and she said it looked photoshopped, and then turned me around and lifted my shirt to show her but she said I could’ve done that to myself.

The story about the wildfire in Italy reminded me of how I once called the police in Czechia when I was 17. I was there in a small town with my 14 year old friend. Some guys walked up to us at 1am on the street and kept trying to talk to us. One of them knew English so I kept talking to him and kept a close eye on all of them. He started asking questions about us which got more intimate as time went on. I sensed that there was something off about it so I went a little bit away for a moment and pretended to call my parents (which I didn't because both our parents were still at home in Germany and didn't know where we were). I called the police instead and the person I had on the phone couldn't understand me. They did understand to send someone though and, when the police arrived, I thought we were safe but none of the officers spoke a single word English. This whole trip ended in a very traumatizing experience.

Mildly infuriating story, I'm from the UK, on Tuesday at 13:00 my mum phoned me to ask if I had keys, I said "no I didn't" so I had to go to my sisters house to get mums keys and then caught the bus only to be harassed by a woman who had a walking frame and she wanted a couple of £s for a sandwich and I said "no" she then said "are you sure?" And I said "I'm certain, I checked how much I have" I got to my sisters in time, then me and my mum went to the bus stop, and mum went back to my sisters after a while, and then the SAME woman said "Oh, you have money now to give me" and I replied "I have my mums money for the bus and any change will be hers" then the bus came and I let her on before me and the woman had a *concessionary pass that you pay 50p before **9:30** and its free after **9:30* and I was queitly annoyed at that

My old math teacher once said: "Asking is licit, responding is a curtesy" It's totally legal and okay to ask any kind of question. But it's a courtesy to receive a response back. Expecially if tje question asked is a stupid one or extremely inappropriate or offensive. Some of these Karens need to understand this. Even more when they receive blank stares or rude responses. It's a courtesy you get to hear my voice. And as much as your aks is licit, I have the full right to tell you to fuck off gently. Also I hate people who think they can skip the middle man. No, asking a cashier isn't going to make the lady move. As if he has any power over that. Oops, she did something I don't like that's totally within her rights to do? I'm sorry but Imma have to call a manager and ask you to do what I want you to do. Because this is their store. And surely they don't want a disgruntled customer in here, right? So they'll do anything I ask them to do. Sure... Keep on daydreaming Janet.

My brother got suspended from school once because of somebody else's stupidity. Basically he went to one of the notoriously bad highschool in our city. It was probably the worst school. It was also known for its caos. One day one of my brother's classmates or two decided to take the trash bin and empty it into the parking lot/street from the window. This isn't as harmaless as my classmates throwing paper planes from the window. It could've been dangerous too. The teacher and principal asked to know who did it. They all knew who it was but they didn't want to snitch. Expecially since both asked for the culprits to come forward. None came forward. So what did they do? They said that if nobody comes forward with this then the entire class gets suspended for one day. So my brother had to stay home for doing nothing. He didn't do it. He knew exactly who did it. He saw them.

I find it mildly concerning that some random from the other wedding was able to find OP on Facebook and send abusive messages just from some of the people at the other reception spending 10-20 minutes at OP's reception bar. Like, how much stalking did that rando do to be able to find OP just from that. That is concerning, and I would be reporting that to the police, because next thing you know they'll have your address, and you'll either get them showing up to scream at you, or maybe something weirder, like a goat's head or something on your doorstep. This person is clearly not rational, and you should be very cautious.

"Can you get your manager and security please." Also, if a cashier ever told someone they can go ahead of me after I have said no they cant, I will also be asking for their manager and finding out there and then if that is story policy. 26:00 As far as I know, psychologists aren't allowed to make diagnoses - it's the psychiatrists who are (same goes for prescribing medicine). Psychologists are more of an "emotional support"/advisers for their clients; sometimes they assist psychiatrists in patients' therapy, but that's all. So this person's very idea to diagnose her friend indicates that she wasn't paying attention in class, regardless of where and how long she studied!
@moramorandobianchi7093 Жыл бұрын
No, not really. I mean I guess it depends on the country of course, but I’m a psychologist and I specialize in psycho diagnosis, like it’s literally my job. However one of the things that they definitely say in class is to not try to diagnose outside your practice, and specially family and friends. That’s a breach of ethics, wrong and most of the time you’re going to get it wrong because of your attachment to the person. So yeah she was not paying attention, and I dread to one day have her as my colleague.
@DembaiVT Жыл бұрын
Psychologists work with medication and diagnosis in Canada. They are primarily concerned with ongoing treatment, study and application of medicine from a hyper clinical standpoint. They also work in hospitals with crisis cases. Psychiatrists tend to do the majority of diagnosis for WILLING cases, along with testing and therapy. It's like the difference between an optometrist and an ophthalmologist. One gives you glasses, and they're the most common type that you'll come in contact with. The other is a specialist working out of a hospital who works with the harder cases, treatments and diagnosis. I went to a psychiatrist to get a diagnosis for DID. She had me go to a psychologist who specialized in it for confirmation. My psychiatrist had a therapeutic approach, wanting to deal with trauma and comfort. The Psychologist put me through a WRINGER. She knew what she was doing and put us through the wildest examination where she poked at a trauma until it triggered a switch and then did it with any other trauma she could sus out to trigger someone else. We were all in such a fluster and so off balance she prevented us from making proper memories of the whole ordeal. But that is the difference. One person is there to heal your wounds. The other is to poke a swab in them and look at the goo and be ultra clinical. And both can prescribe drugs.

Dude the stealing food ones drive me the most insane, I live with my boyfriend, his mom, and his sister right now and his sister has zero respect for other people's food. I have some diet limitations that make it so I like to have my own things and she knows that but she'll still eat all of anything in the fridge/pantry she wants even if it's clearly meant for me and I've talked to her about it but she STILL does it. At one point I started labeling things as mine but she got super passive aggressive about it and kept complaining to her mom about me being mean (shes fucking 37 years old btw).
