That is beyond insane! 😮 Good on you for minimizing contact with that so-called family. Your son will appreciate not having to deal with them when he comes out as gay due to having had his diapers changed and been bathed by his dad. 😜 Just kidding, people with rigid toxic gender ideals like that aren't good for any child, straight or gay. If they're giving you crap for being a single dad now, they won't be a loving emotionally supportive family for your son no matter what. Btw: my dad bathed my brother and me and changed our diapers and, well my brother is straight. So we're one 1:1 on that theory... 😂🏳️‍🌈

At least that kid is getting raised right. My dad and mom had shifts from what my moms tells me because I had a really bad case of acid reflux. I still occasionally have it but it was really bad when I was a baby so my parents had to do alot more. I do appreciate the fact my dad was able to be there for many parts of my life that make him gay apparently? I don't really have the ability to debunk the turning babies gay thing though, because I believe it's more so a case of because a child feels safe to come out to their parents because their parents do so much to take care of them that if they are questioning their identity they will be more open to going to a parent for help. Which I don't think is a bad thing. It's a sign of trust.

I still don't cry in front of people if I can help it (and if I do, it's out of anger/frustration and I can't control/stop it, the waterfall just starts)! Not being able to express negative emotions in a healthy way, and instead having them be used against you by a parent sucks!

People who call crying 'gay' have had some serious trauma issues growing up. Being shamed as a child for having feelings makes you grow into a bitter adult. :( As soon as one of these adults hears 'it's okay to cry' they assume that the person is crying all the time. Their angry little world only consists of extremes where they aren't allowed to feel safe while simultaneously being vulnerable. I got raised by a parent just like this and it took a long time to allow myself to just be a person who has an actual range of emotions

Idk if the school board even found out what our symbol was- it's just everywhere in the hallways of the high school i went to that it never stood out. It stood out more to not have one of the symbol on your door. Some teachers even had them somewhere else for giggles. If our school knew, it would have been considered gang activity tho...

Fun Fact: The chemical composition of tears cried out of intense emotion is significantly different to tears of irritation or general eyeball lubrication. You are literally crying out the excess hormones that are making you feel that emotion. That is why crying is so cathartic. That is why we are designed to cry when our emotions are overwhelming.

The kid who tried to build the nuclear reactor was named David Charles Hahn. He was a kid who was utterly in love with chemistry and brilliant at it. When he was in his teens, he decided he was going to try to build a breeder reactor. He would shop at old antique stores to collect small amounts of materials out of camping lanterns and radium clocks, diligently scraping off the radioactive paint. After his project was discovered by authorities and the scandal got all over the news, David's life took a downhill turn. He was ordered by the courts to NEVER be permitted to own a chemistry set or work with chemistry ever again. His mom died of the Big "S" and he enlisted in US Navy for a few years as a seaman and communications officer. After he got out, his scandal in his teens haunted him. It ruined his life and he struggled finding anybody willing to employ him. His mental health and addictions and criminal record just got worse and worse. David Hahn passed away in 2016 at just 39 years old of a drug and alcohol overdose in destitution. I highly recommend looking up his story. It's very fascinating but very sad. He never meant to hurt anybody.

Nah, by the looks of it, the courts probably didn't order him on anything to do with chemistry, and it seemed more that the FBI and EPA were alarmed but not exactly treating it as a criminal thing - most I've seen is that his home was cleaned up as a Superfund site. What DID happen however is that the encounter really whammed him bad and his mother's death didn't help; he went to community college for metallurgy but dropped out, and he had been apparently diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, which certainly wouldn't have helped matters. Chances are, had he not been caught or kept the entire experiment within his head, he likely would've more readily pursued his passion - but if his schizophrenia was a latent result of genetics, he would've still developed it and it likely would've greatly impacted his career regardless.

He was never involved in any violence or serious crimes beyond being a drug addict. Since nobody was willing to employ him because of his criminal record, his talent with chemistry led him to producing drugs for the drug trade and using to survive...because what else was he going to do? It's such an appalling waste of a promising young talent and life, but that's the 'Murican justice system.

What criminal record? He was never charged with anything related to the first incident. Also, it’s worth noting that while he was certainly a chemistry and physics *enthusiast,* he was shockingly inept at it, and never bothered to learn even the basics of either, instead literally just following instructions he looked up. He was, at best, a dangerous idiot who happened to be good at following instructions.

‘It’s bad for a man to cry at his wedding!’ Meanwhile that picture at 37:17 is absolutely lovely. There is nothing but pure love on that face. My parents recently got married and my new dad could barely get his vows out because his lip was wobbling so much. That alone nearly made me cry too. MEN CRY! That’s fine! It’s a beautiful thing to be so overjoyed and overwhelmed with love that you shed tears! I’d think it’d be considered normal that people cry when they’re upset, nervous, or angry as well. Sometimes it’s the only way to express ourselves. My dad cries when he loses people, if he remembers something painful, or when things take a bad turn with his health. He cried when he got married, when we asked him to move in, and when I called him dad for the first time. He’s no less of a man than anyone else, and honestly, it’s the expressive, emotional men that people connect to more. It’s human. Whether it’s for something happy or devastating, crying is never a bad thing. It’s always okay. Let yourselves cry ❤

Ok, I get thinking she would have been ethnically Egyptian and/or not understanding what colour ethnic Egyptian people are. (It isn’t black, but it ain’t white, either). He response is moronic. The State of Israel is not Egypt. It is also a diverse place Lotta different colours. If they meant the location, it’s in Southwest Asia, not Africa. If they meant “Jewish” that’s not presumptive in itself, and Jews come in all colours anyway. While most of us are lighter skinned and some percentage genetically middle-eastern, but my grandmother was ethnically 100% Norwegian, I’m a mix of a lot of European, I have met black Jews, Asian Jews, Latinx Jews… were all equally Jewish. If anything they should be complaining that they didn’t cast a Greek or at least a European. I honestly don’t much care. They didn’t cast an old Jew for Moses in “gods and Kings” but I don’t care because the movie looked crap anyway.

A couple of decades ago, my cousin started crying when he saw his beautiful bride walked toward him in the church. He didn’t stop crying until part way through the reception. This from a guy who worked on oil rigs and rode with a motorcycle gang. Sadly, he passed away a couple of years ago but if he had read or heard anyone saying men crying at their wedding is gay, he would have had a lot of very choice and censored comments to say.

@23:12, the woman complaining about "kinda salty", if you see something that has an innocent explanation and assume the worst, the issue isn't theirs, it's yours. in school, there was a kid named jamar. only black kid in my school (very rural area). i didn't like him. people assumed i was racist, but the truth was, i didn't like him because he routinely picked on my friends (i was quite large. like, 6'2" and 150lbs with a full beard by the time i was in my sophomore year, so i didn't get bullied).

College broke me down so far that I just randomly started crying in the shower. it couldn't even be one continuous cry because my body kept fighting back against it so it was just sporadic bursts of tears and it hurt. please, stop telling us we can't cry. it causes so much pain and suffering that is then compounded by its own cause, the fact that we are not allowed to cry.

Killing a random driver in another vehicle and the UPS driver as well who was the hostage. Did they ever get in trouble for that? That was so badly coordinated. Yeah that was crazy! Where would that be that teachers get paid minimum wage? I'm pretty sure teachers all start above $20/hr across Canada (I don't know for certain how much they start at).
@FableTheWolf
@FableTheWolf Жыл бұрын
 @LittleWhiteRabbitB As another Canadian here with multiple teachers in the family I can tell you that's definitely false. For starters teachers don't get paid by the hour. If they did, they'd be making bank. If we're talking primary schooling, teachers only get paid for 10 months of the year. That girl was offered a salary for her time, which the poster (incorrectly from how the math checks out) divided it into an hourly wage which doesn't even reflect how teachers are paid. Of course we don't know what position she was offered: people fresh out of uni often start with subbing and that's a different story, and "teacher" covers a lot of different positions in the field. A teacher's starting salary is incredibly subjective and can't be simplified like that. No matter what though teachers are incredibly underpaid for the work they do. They have to put in an insane amount of extra work that salaries don't cover adequately aside from the true value of what they do and have to put up with, and that's true of any teacher anywhere.
@masterbuilder7577
@masterbuilder7577 Жыл бұрын
@@FableTheWolf yea I already was aware they get underpaid, didn't realize it was as low as that though, also figured looking back at my comment that it could be taken that I was saying that I didn't believe they were getting paid that which was not my intent. Though admittedly I am a bit over minimum wage for my area as minimum wage here in new York is 15$ an hour I think? I don't remember exactly what it's at at the moment

@@FableTheWolf I see, thank you for clearing that up for me. My roommate teaches 3rd grade and I haven't asked her about wages (obviously, that would be very rude). @pigcatapult

You know that, and I know that, but the phobes don’t. A lot of homophobia is laundered misogyny. The phobes think men being gay is feminine, and that the last thing any man should want to be is feminine. So when they see a man doing something they think is too feminine, they call him gay, with the intention of shaming him into adhering to their regressive gender roles. It’s wack.

To this day I have problems expressing any emotion. And for some reason that lady thinks it's okay to shame men who express emotions? Heck no, you go man! And lady, who thinks it's not okay for men to express emotions and dubious about women expressing them, please, get some therapy if you can afford it. 5:27 Couldn't have said anything more true. Honestly, like you said, it's not a matter of crying more or less, but knowing when and who to share your vulnerabilities with. There are moments where being stoic is needed, specially to deal with inminent threats, but not knowing when to let it go and be able to cry, or to show emotions, it can really cause a lot of mental pain. I think it was something like what CS Lewis said in The necessity of chivalry "A knight should know to act gentle in times of peace and act fierce in moments of war". Maybe a little bit less extreme, and instead of knight, either man or person, since luckily, war is not as common today as it was in the medieval period, but I think the core idea still rings true.

My husband did not cry at my wedding, but the excitement and eagerness in which he replied “Yes!!” with a big smile at the “I do”s (he is from South America, and his first language is Spanish), is the most heartwarming thing I and all our witness had ever seen. We tease him about it, because of course, but my family absolutely love him for it. Let men be expressive! If the joy of seeing their bride and glimpsing into the future moves them to tears, then hell yeah dude, he’s the one.
