PSA for the oncoming apocalypse: pet food in Europe is safe for human consumption. Stock up on spices tho.
@hannajung7512Ай бұрын
"safe for human consumption" is relative though. Cat food might contain higher amount of Taurin then a human should consume. But dog food on average contains a mixture of nutrients that is similar to what a human needs. With one exception: Vitamin C. If you plan on using pet food as emergency food remember to stock up on Vitamin C. Humans are an exception with our inability to build Vitamin C ourselves, our pets are able to do that, why food for them does not contain extra doses of it.

Then, when it was translated for Romans, their lexicon lacked anything for an 'sh' sound. Then, to emphasize the masculine gender, a second s was added. So it went from Yeshua, to Yesus, to Jesus. 17:00 Any blood lost is just sacrifices for the crafting to turn out right. I recently built my first Master Grade gunpla, the RX-79 [G] Ez8. Ended up cutting my index finger just below the nail with the hobby knife while trimming down a nub. I wrapped it in paper towel and got right back to working. It looks great in my opinion.

16:30 I think Pinocchio's magic has small amounts of wood from every tree teleport to him, thereby not creating any new matter. The amount taken is so small that it is basically negligible as it is taken from every tree, hence why nobody notices.

Timber is almost entirely carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen, with trace amounts of soil minerals. It wouldn't be difficult for magic to put that together from air and water with the trace minerals from the nearest soil or dirt. It just needs an energy source. Trees use sunlight .. which leaves the question, does Pinocchio's nose grow faster when the sun is shining?

As a sciencey nerdy person, the laws of thermodynamics indicate that energy cannot be lost, it can only change forms (kinetic to thermal etc) Pinnochio would break the laws of conservation of matter: matter cannot be created or destroyed, it can only change form/density. So sort of similar, with a hair of crossover (technically photons which are energy consist of miniscule amounts of matter, or the aspect of energy being required or released when matter changes forms) but the specific law that would be broken would be the laws of matter. Alternately, the laws of matter could be obeyed with Pinocchio's "curse" and it would steal thermal energy (heat) and resources (co2 and water) from the surrounding environment in order to accomplish the growth of his nose, making the idea of infinite wood moot because it would cool down a large area to incredibly cold temperatures before you had enough for a decent fire.
@rolfs2165Ай бұрын
I always thought that his nose shrinks again after a while. So his nose might "borrow" that wood from other parts of his body, and if you keep chopping it off and forcing him to lie, you'll eventually have no Pinocchio left.
@sonohito5Ай бұрын
I wonder if anyone has written a magic system like this, where breaking the laws of thermodynamics is entirely possible but so dangerous only the undead can do huge amounts of magic at once and survive.

@@AIHumanEquality I am autistic and extremely literal, so if you are making a male appendage reference on my factual rant comment, which would be appallingly immature at best, misøgynistic at worst.... I'll assume you're making some other intelligent argument that I simply cannot decipher, so please, explain your comment more thoroughly.
@crystalcline9036Ай бұрын
@AIHumanEquality ok, so you posit that Pinocchio's nose grew in volume, not in mass or potential energy. While an interesting hypothesis, the amount the structure of wood can stretch or bend is limited and as such, at some point there would have to be conversion of mass and energy to sustain the growth.
@crystalcline9036Ай бұрын
@@AIHumanEquality yes, which is why the absorption of resources could and likely would present problems that would negate the potential use of the magic for situations like the one presented. So while stretching is a potential for a temporary growth of the nose, even a square inch or two of solid matter pulled out of the air, along with the energy required to create the potential energy in wood, could have disastrous consequences for life within a certain radius from the magical reaction. So I guess it depends on how many lies Pinocchio tells within a short time frame as to whether the stretching aspect would be a viable negation of the mass/energy requirements

They have a running gag where Link asks Zelda for a kiss like every episode, and she either goes "ew no :(" or "yeah sure :)". 17:00 - My theory on Pinocchio is that b/c he's made out of wood, he's able to still be like a tree (even though he's got no leaves until his nose grows), and take water/energy from the air and sun and turn it into wood but at an accelerated rate. Thus no, he does not break the laws of thermodynamics.
