I don’t think that’s fair. First of all if you take some more modern stuff, say Event Horizon, The Thing, The Mist, basically any good horror movie from the past 40 years, they’re still terrifying without the soundtrack. If you remove the soundtrack from a video game, it’s not AS fun but it’s still fun. The entire, pure purpose of a laugh track is to use psychology to trick the audience into laughing at a joke regardless of the quality, and while soundtracks can have similar effect, soundtracks must have effort put into them, whereas laugh tracks can be bought as stock sfx and don’t add soul, they’re only there for that little psychological effect. Truthfully not comedies should be using laugh tracks, and removing the laugh tracks would be a good thing as that allows us to consider the quality of the humor without the confirmation bias

7:13 So I kinda started overthinking about this now, and that entirely depends on the rarity of dragons, I suppose. If dragons aren't common where the elves are, even if they know that they do exist, it would still be beyond incredible to see one. Humans know tigers exist, but they'll still think it's cool as heck to see them at the zoo or on TV. Heck, even if they're not that rare, you might still find it cool. I see some animals like squirrels and dogs basically every day but get excited to see them because I like them. And even if they are kinda common, *they're still giant fire breathing lizards* (assuming we're talking about western dragons). They're dangerous and you'd be allarmed to be in the presence of one.

I think in most films it would be the equivalent of us seeing dinosaurs

I’m gonna defend the elf getting surprised by a dragon. It’s not that dragon is real, it’s a freakin fire breathing monster that might eat you.

11:00 there is one, actually. It's a webtoon about a heroine who returned from another world and had a family. Next thing she knew, the other world had another crisis and searched for her. Unfortunately, time flew differently so while her old comrade only experienced a few months, she was already a 40 year old woman.

11:05 that anime would probably be along the lines of "Do you love her mom and her two-hit multi-target attacks?" Otherwise known as "Tsuujou kougeki ga zentai kougeki de ni-kai kougeki no okaansan was Suki desuka"
