I don’t think people understand that you CAN still be a traditional housewife. The whole point of feminism is having the right to choose what you do with yourself rather then being restricted by gender roles. That includes the right to choose if you wanna be a ceo or a house wife.

My just 14 Yr old nephew shocked us into silence when he mentioned his girlfriend needing chocolate and support because it was the end of the month and that meant the periods were coming. American sex ed is typically just labeling pieces of their reproductive organs, genuinely. It's not even typically graded harshly, if at all. They genuinely aren't required to learn about sex at all, some of my lass friends mention only remembering being told that their activity levels can change the shape of their hymen, and I know the lads only remember being told they're gonna look and sound cooler and the white stuff most likely isnt an infection and you dont need to see a doctor about it If you're raising your kid in america, please for the love of all things good introduce them to proper sex ed

It is wild to me how many men are convinced that every woman wants a partner and cannot be happy without one. If an unpartnered woman is happy, it must be a cope or she'll definitely regret it later on. Is it because they themselves can't fathom being happy without a wife? Or just that their brain can't process a woman existing peacefully outside of a male context?
@keythealien
@keythealien 6 ай бұрын
Yes! I will not go out to find it again because it's pointless since KZbin removes outside links, but there's an article that confirmed, on average, single men are less happy than single women, and that divorced women are generally happier than their ex husbands. Women are just happier alone, on average. We all know the problematic party girl who can't survive without a guy to be mad at, of course, but generally speaking? Yeah, men don't deal with loneliness as well. Societal problem? Probably? Maybe? It's worth discussing, though, I think.

As an asexual and happily single person I’ve met plenty of mostly women (likely due to irl interests overlapping more, like learning gluten free baking) of varying ages that are happily divorced and also not looking for more than people to hang out with. So there’s definitely less pressure when you’re older to not get pressured into misery, especially for those that have been there, done that and are done with that. It’s sad in a way but definitely don’t devalue friendships regardless if you’re married or not, seems to lead to divorce quite frequently when you’re not allowed to have friends and enjoy the simple things in life. Like how to make the “semla” not look so sad when you’re not allowed to use gluten when baking, chemistry fun times just so you get to hang out with people and not be stuck at home

The "fun" reality of it is that it becomes more fully rational again, once you better understand the subject. Most medical experts are aware of the story of Phineas Gage, and there are people out there right now who are walking around with bullets lodged inside their brain tissue, who mostly recovered. It's extremely rare, but not impossible. She had no way to be sure exactly how severe the damage was, and so did her best to keep as many possibilities open as she could.

@@falleithani5411 Oh yea I'm aware people can survive with brain damage. It just often isn't the case when a part of your skull is blown off, since it also leads to hemorrhaging and other fun stuff since the brain is quite essential. That guy is quite a famous guy in psychology as well since survived a railroad spike straight through the brain, although his personality was permanently altered. But I do think you make an excellent point. Better safe than sorry. No one would be able to live with the guilt of knowing they could have done something and didn't, and the best thing she could do being unskilled in combat was try to put his skull back together to mitigate damage.

So one time she got a guy that her parents liked, and because of that she was allowed to go on vacations with him. One time, they were with some of his friends and he "jokingly" said that he will "gladly share his girlfriend with them right there and then". Ya, Jackie Kennedy tried to piece her husband's head back together. It's one of the most tragic things I've ever seen filmed. It was so utterly desperate and primal, and we somehow have documentation of it. No one's worst moment should be filmed like that, but we have it, and the only lesson we should learn is compassion. You can see in the moment the only thought she had was piecing him back together. Maybe hoping he'd heal, maybe just not wanting the public to see him like that. It doesn't really matter which, it was so instant and instinctual. How anyone could make judgements and not just feel for the raw humanity blows my mind

It broke me, knowing that whatever she was trying to do was futile. But she was clearly in an autopilot desperation mode. Crash course in empathy right there. We know now that they had problems, that he wasn't as good of a husband as he should have been. But in that moment none of that mattered. She NEEDED to try, she NEEDED to do what she was doing. There was no thought to more rounds being fired, there was nothing except the need to piece him back together. It's still one of the most agonizingly human things I've ever seen. And I'm also glad that it helped foster empathy in me. That's probably the only saving grace to that footage being available.

That story of the girl who got threatened with a gun reminds me of that song that goes "Be nice to sad boys or you might get shot (...) If Sad Boy comes to school tomorrow with a gun, its your fault you could have been a nice girl (...)" All sung sarcastically, as if things that the female singer has been told. It is crazy to me that a situation where a woman gets threatened because she wasnt "nice" enough in rejecting a man, and then gets blamed, is a common enough experience to be made into a song.

Fun fact about Sydney Sweeney from the very first post: she recently starred in and produced a religious horror movie called “Immaculate” in which her nun character gets inexplicably preggo with a seemingly Virgin Mary-esque way (slight spoiler: it’s not holy in any way at all); it pissed off these people thinking she was some sort of conservative icon and got them theorizing that she had been “forced” into the movie, despite the fact that it was basically her project (basically bought the decade-old script and produced the movie almost by herself). If you’ve seen the movie, you know why it was a big deal for them, and why that first meme aged like milk.

Thank for reminding me, as you often do, that my imperfect husband (and I’m definitely an imperfect wife) is LIGHT YEARS beyond what I could expect from most men anywhere, and especially American men. Vids like this remind me how damned lucky I got in the whole “marriage lottery” as it were. I’m 40, he’a 45. We have been married for 15 years. He’s the kind of man you hope any woman or girl in your life would run into if they needed help on a dark street in the middle of the night (literally how our male neighbor, a father of two teenage daughters, described him to the FBI agent investigating him for his security clearance- she said she had never heard so high a compliment). And this man deserves that designation, I could write a book why. But suffice it to say that when HE sees any woman who looks under even 30 he asks me “where are their parents? Are they even old enough to DRIVE??” And it make his skin crawl when a young waitress (obviously 18+ because she served us alcohol, a law where we live) is even MILDLY flirtatious or flattering, as most are for a tip.😂 He NEVER comments on women’s bodies, and having known him for 22 years, I can honestly (and sadly) say that he is the only man who is respectful and protective of ALL women and girls, no matter their age or how attractive they are. (We come from Texas, sadly not a typical trait in men.) He has also been the sole breadwinner in our home since right after we got married and I be unexpectedly disabled, and he has never once made me feel bad about it, or made me feel like it was “his” money that I should “just” be grateful for. It’s always been “our money” and he has always taken pride in taking care of me and our home (no kids but 2 great danes 😂) and spoiling me. I appreciate these reminders of how damn lucky I am to have this man because he is Mr. Successful and the “6-6-6” (really 6’3”, 7, 6x2+figure income) man that apparently is all the rage in the shallow social media circles…. and I am NOT what people in those circles envision as “pulling” that kind of man. I was (and still really am) a basket case of trauma-induced mental illness, always struggled with my weight, Md wears my heart on mu sleeve to the point of being “emotionally needy” (especially years ago when we got together), but also sweet, caring, and loving and always grateful for everything he does. Screw stereotypes. Be the hot mess you are, girls, because that is how you get a man who will love you and all your crazy. We all know we can’t hide that crazy for a lifetime!😂

He agreed that i should stand up for myself, he’s only thing was about the sex part to at least talk about things what im comfortable with and what not. I had a temper and found myself in a dark place. He pulled me out of it by standing next to me, holding me when crashing and talk to me and listen. We are now married for 31 years this year and still we go strong. I told many times its either the skillet after the head or a knife. I have ptsd due to everything my stepfather put us through. My diagnosis came late after giving birth to our children. And still working on it. When some man wants to bully me and call my husband a pussy he tells them I wouldn’t want to make her angry she’s a devil in disguise. She can defend herself don’t worry but i wont be helping you if she gets you. Only if im really in bad shape he’ll stand up for me; that’s what we agreed on.

That day i was dressed in dark cargo pants, hoodie and dark shoes, and next to me a black german shepherd. My son sat on the stairs or moved so he could watch to spot her. The moment i saw her i went in the middle of the path and she was so afraid that she didn’t even saw me! So i told Eri to fetch our kid, let the leash go and boy it was close he reached out for her but went as white as a ghost turned around and ran of. We did put a complaint down. They tried to say but he wanted to talk with her, i told them look she’s a minor and its my duty to protect her. And grown ass man doesn’t need to stalk her and wanting to grab her. They looked at the cctv with the police and they started laughing so hard when they saw him ran off. He was known by police for it. So we never had to go to court due the fact he was in prison soon after for mistreating he’s own wife and kids he nearly killed. I am relieved to not find posts about mansplaining female reproductive processes in this video (which unfortunately are common). I recently came across a thread about a cis male lawyer explaining to women why pads and tampons shouldn't be low priced/free. There were like 30 women trying to explain why they are indispensable, but he kept thinking that if women survived without them all these centuries it was because they are a luxury. Like... He's not even a doctor. He doesn't even have a functional uterus. How can he be so sure? Do you know what also didn't exist before and yet humanity survived? Penicillin. And people used to live to be 50 if they were lucky.
@falleithani5411
@falleithani5411 7 ай бұрын
While I almost entirely agree with you, your counterpoint is not well-executed, as it's based on a misunderstanding. The 'people used to live to be 50 if they were lucky' thing is mostly a myth, from confusion about how life expectancy is calculated and what it means. As a general rule, most people who survived their own childhood would live to be 60 or more, throughout history. The average lifespan was so low because babies and children were dying in droves. The elderly _are_ living longer, but that change has mostly been an increase from a senior population of about 60-80 throughout most of history, to one of about 70-100 today. That said, penicillin is still a great example. I'd also recommend vaccines, soap, toilets, toilet paper, running water, and 911. There aren't many people who genuinely want to live in a world where most people don't have access to those.

For people who think that women don't need "luxury" items like pads and tampons because they survived without them in history, should have toilet paper taken from them. Have them deal with it the way people did before toilet paper was invented. Then give them pinecones to use... Pads and tampons are call sanitary items for a reason and less women get sick when using them! @@HarutoVa Oda: "Fanservice?! Aeuuuhhh.... HAVE SOME BOOBS!!!!" 😂

I have only had 3 interactions with one peice really. Seeing that meme A video talking about the fact that you cant get a woman who actually looks like the women in the anime, and someone berating me because I had the audacity to comment on that video talking about anime saying that that may be the reason I dislike a lot of anime, because Im not a fan of absurd proportions. Overall I have nothing wrong with anime people can enjoy it if they want, just people can be really shitty about character looks for no reason.

@@cryochick9044 I can see your point, I kinda like fanservice in animes but I also enjoy more realistic animes as well, the story is more important to me I guess. I choose anime depending on my mood, and I take anime for just as it is, entertainment, I dont analyse, I just watch and enjoy it for what it is.

Iirc all those Greek statues have small members because small members were seen as refined and civilized, and large ones were considered animal like. So doing the "aristocratic something or other of the small hung man " version of the meme can be done and would even be historically accurate 😂

Those same classical statues of women have small breasts as well. So accurate on both counts.

Would be _more_ accurate than the original post for sure, since you have actual statues to compare to lol

I think 56:08 has confused human “birds” (slag term for women in northern and middle England) with actual avians.

30:30 It is called a vacation. Oh, right, that is a concept that is hidden from the general population in the USA, and you are guildtripped if you try to take one.

In France, a holiday-friendly country, it's called "année sabbatique" and it's treated the same way as in US. Holy crap, we already have 5 weeks, who needs a whole year ?

23:10 I will never blame a couple for being in functional, loving relationship… But sometimes that age gap does be looking odd when it’s close to a decade in difference. I’ll give 2 examples: My own mother is 9 years older than my dad (although both are technically baby boomers, my dad shares more traits with gen x); they have been in constant fights over chore splitting, how to raise me, and when making big financial decisions. Example 2, I found out a guy I was going on a date with (I had just turned 19 at the time, circa 2016) was 28 YEARS OLD?! I promptly ghosted him, because I was not about to date someone who was about to turn 30 and wanted to settle down with a family. Like bro, I was barely a year over legal age! I was in my first semester of college! Take a hint, different points in life and differing opinions in the direction of it are not good points for starting a relationship. I understand falling in love with someone’s looks, but please do your research to make sure your “theory” of dating will be worthwhile lol. This is sadly a reality for younger girls, especially the ones that are barely out of their teen years. We might as well forget about the notion of finding ourselves in our twenties; because that won’t happen when mature women, rightfully so, have learned to not put up with the immature men around their age, so the men look to young girls that have not learned to be wary of that behavior yet. The oblivious men see the women of their generation at fault for their lack of emotional and mental connection; rather than fixing their own undesirable behaviors. That’s why a big age gap will more likely lead to problems in a relationship, and I caution anyone before entering one. It’s a more common occurrence than you think.

I have zero self preservation when my loved ones are in danger. I stood up to my abusive father when I was a kid because he yelled at my best friend and I knew he would have hurt my friend if given the chance. I have no fear in the moment, after the fact I may have a total panic attack for doing something so utterly stupid as standing up to a guy with a gun or an abusive a--hole who has no problem hurting kids, but in the moment myself preservation goes out the window.

I have struggled with acne most of my life. For some people, it is just an adolescent thing, and it clears up when they are in their 20s. For some, it is just chronic and requires more than over-the-counter products. Unfortunately, the only thing that worked for me was accutane, which is almost impossible for AFAB people to get prescribed (yet another example of misogyny in healthcare). I've had 2 doctors refuse to prescribe. Once I was able to get on it, the acne was cured. I was well into my 30s, and I still have scars (both physically and mentally).

49:08 That's why women were so all about expensive jewelry. It was something you could easily shove in a hand bag and run if they had to. It was also easy to pawn off for a descent amount of money until the person in question could get a job.

15:00 i find these especially funny because in a womans body, the cervix is between 3-6 inches up inside the you know what, and cant be penetrated. so hypothetically, even if it WAS big enough to go all the way up to the lungs...it wouldnt.

About the kayaking story: why do they care? Because their own lives suck and they are jealous of other people who seemed to enjoy their lives more than they do. This is the only way they can pretend they are "better" than the others.
