Күн бұрын

1 cup rolled oats
2 sliced bananas
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
handful of raisins
2 cups boiling water
Optional additions: berries or fruit, chia seeds, nuts, etc.
Combine all ingredients, cover, and let sit overnight. In the morning, heat until hot and serve with butter, milk, milk alternative, nut butter, and/or yogurt. Serves 1 hungry adult or 1 adult and 1 toddler. I also soak the oats overnight for a pre race meal. Soaking the oats makes them more easily digestible.

Why someone would dislike this video is beyond me -_-. Thanks for the recipe, I will give it a shot. Normally, I dump a packet in water and microwave it :D

Some of my favorite memories were the little moments of my kids that I put on FB or YoutTube and then forgot about until over a decade later. It's heartwarming to look back and remember the way they used to pronounce their words when they were little. By the way, I agree with Stanley - dry oats are good. I like dry oats as part of muesli on top of yogurt. Anyway thanks for sharing parts of your life. It is inspirational for health and life balance.

Yes! Oats are the best food that sits the best in my stomach 2 hours before a run. I usually have mine with a banana and blueberries on top!❤😊👟

@@GwenJorgensen Hi Gwen. In #homeeconomics / #foodtechnology there was always a distinction between #wetingredients and #dryingredients especially for #mixing purposes. My experience would probably tell me that #bananasarewet - or at least gooey and #notdry. I wonder if your two-year-old has come to this classification?
@GwenJorgensen

@@adelaidedupont9017 I thought the seperation was due to when there was a rising agent like baking soda/powder, etc. What's the science behind it when there is no rising agent? I'm so interested now!

Hi Gwen, after eating how long do you generally leave it before commencing a hard workout or race? I would imagine it would be difficult to run soon after oats!
@GwenJorgensen
@GwenJorgensen 5 жыл бұрын
n b if you soak the oats overnight they are more easily digestible. I run 1 hour later for hard workouts and 2 hours later for a race
