I feel like you could for a Violet Evergarden type character who starts out emotionless but as they continue exploring they learn from the people they interact, help and live with until they realize both their own emotions and the weight of the lives that they took and have to find a way to move on. A very interesting race, glad to learn about them!

That’s how I play my Warforged Way of Mercy Monk. Where it wants to do more than just hurt people, but really only feels comfortable in war/battle settings and is really good at it which is a role play angle for the character.

The warforged remind me of the clones from Star Wars. They were made to fight in a massive war, completely ignorant of the world outside of their training and the war, given numerical designations but are often given nicknames based on their personalities or achievements, and basically just discarded after the war ended.

Also, warforge make great sentries. No need to sleep. So outfit your warforged with night vision, and you have a security bot always alert to danger.

Actually Warforged can be made by any race even in Eberron. Yes House Cannith is dominated by Humans but there are other races in House Cannith.

This was a good video. I need some insight into Warforged and this was good. I’ve got a lone NPC who wanders an inhospitable land who cares for other survivors and warforged seem to fit it perfectly as an eternal task.

I made a homebrew fighter archetype called the Steel Bastion. It was essentially a tank class. Dual shield fighting (impractical I know but regardless) with heavy armor. The playtest character was a Warforged Juggernaut (that could wear armor) who was a Defender of a member of royalty.

Nah, a class that uses shields in ways everyone else doesn't would be bad ass. But I'd have called it just that. A Defender. Though, maybe Juggernaut is more appropriate for what I'm thinking. They don't need weapons, they just bullrush and tank everything. If they attack? Shield bash. Lol.

Love this video and warforged in general. They are one of the best and most versatile races in the game. I think they self-heal or repair the same as other playable humanoid races though. PCs are going to get all kind of benefit from magic armor which warforged won't so their AC probably balances out.

Always love the content, in my home game where I DM our wizard pc is the intial creator of a new breed of warforged, there are both the standard warforged you guys talk about here that have been been made through magic and the new breed that are made by bounding humaniod souls to mecahnacial bodies. Super useful

I feel like the integrated protection including proficiency bonus into AC is fair since Warforged can’t wear armor so can’t benefit from any magical armor like Efreeti Chain. You get high AC but no cool magical features from armor. Plus you still have to be proficient in the armor type, so a Warforged Wizard can’t rock the heavy plate setting.

For my build iv basically said artificers created the warforged using human brains explaining why it "lived" also decided to give my DM the ability to mess with me I said some of the older models went insane because they could remember a life before the "upgrade" so some went insane later models used brains from kids to try and eliminate the memory issues. So my DM can pick it I'm a early model or later model and gives him the chance to make me roll every ten minutes haha

Hello I was checking out the info you put out. I'm trying to construct an adventure where the warforge have long been forgotten, and a small cache of them that are not awakened yet being tended to by a warforge mechanic. Now this small army has only one last order was to destroy a nearby city. The mechanic has been trying to awaken them and erase their last orders. A NE dwarf and gnome merchant is looking for this mechanic to trace him back to his hideout so they can steal the soldiers and sell them.

I know this video is a year old but I’m doing research because I’m role playing a 7 foot tall warforged juggernaut juggernaut. Mjölnir tower shield and war hammer. Dudes a beast but want attack anything he doesn’t consider a threat. Also he’s 4 and super naive lol. Can’t wait to delve into this race more.

My warforged is an artificer with one level in bard. He was created to produce magical instruments and his arc is going to be learning to understand why music is so beautiful. He can perfectly reproduce any piece of music that he hears, but his original works sound like a 5th grade violin concert

In my setting warforged are powered by a crystal that is kinda like the soul gems from skyrim. Except instead of only having a humanoids soul the crystals can store an animals essence if its for a simple animalistic warforged. or a humanoid spirit drawn from a sacrifice or a soul drawn from the After/elemental/celestial/fiend that is then trapped in a crystal and its mind is wiped with only a few flashs of memory from its prior existance. the warforged's nature is then drawn from the powersource. so a Devil powered warforged will be lawful evil.

yep i am about to start running an envoy warforged as a fighter. our DM lets us pick a free feat at the start that fits our background story so i took the heavy armor master. so at first level i will be walking around with total of 20 AC, DR of 3, very good str and con. with the fighting stance of dueling for the extra damage. i do think the envoy can be better as a fighter then a Juggernaut because you can start with +1 str and +2 con if you like and some extra abilities. also because you do not have to worry about the weight of heavy armor, you do not need to x2 lifting stuff

Here's an idea if anyone wants to run Warforged in your worlds. "The Mark that gives sentience is a source of great power, this great power requires great sacrifice. To create a warforged, one needs the life of a willing sacrifice. Once the transference of soul to steel, the warforfed enters a dormant state until it is ready to awaken." Given enough time, the warforged may learn of who they were in their past life. Something interesting to think about.

I just started character creation in the new Eberron campaign, and we're playing evil characters who plot to start another war and it completely threw off our DM when we explained our end game goal.

Tonight I step into my warforged character for the first time. He's a fighter in a homebrew steampunk-ish world of gigantic spires dozens of miles high, between which sailing ships fly around the clouds. My character was a Marine on one of these ships as his first assignment after being created and trained. But an accident on an enemy spire sent him plummeting down to the surface of the planet, which is devoid of life except for the monsters and beasts that live there. So he sat there buried in rubble for 24 years, until finally found and rescued. So now he's trying to figure out what life is like, and what it means, who he is, etc. It's been SUPER fun researching stuff to put into this character, and I'm so excited to give it a shot. At Level 1 he's got 13HP and, with a shield, an AC of 19. And it's only gonna get better...

I just made a Warforged Artificer (Armorer). He was created as a mass-production model of a creator of magic items, essentially an assembly line robot. Designation: Construction model 4, Series 7. C4-S7, or Cast. At some point, he was buried in a collapse of the workshop area he was in, and was rendered inert for an indeterminate amount of time. He woke up to a dwarven expedition that was excavating the area, body stacked on a pile of other archeological artifacts and relics unearthed.

I quite like the idea of Warforged being like the battle droids of the more cartoony star wars entries, mixed with things like fully masked characters in fiction (especially of the more Japanese variety). They cant emote subtly, and their faces are stoic and unmoving. So they either speak with an exaggerated affect, and/or use exaggerated body language and gesticulation. So these stoic poker faces, yet they're the most animated member of the group. God help you if they're also the bard.

They can keep the Proficiency if they only got 8/10+Dex+Pro and 12+Dex or Pro Envoy are busted beyond all fuck The Envoy should get a plus two to one of the mental scores to separate it from the other 2 subraces since the Juggernaut gets Str and Scout get Dex and they all get Con anyway. Juggernauts should also get something cool like the ability to wield two handed weapons with one hand or the ability to use Versatile weapons with one hand and deal damage as if it was done with two hands.

Make a Warforged Forge Cleric. Deity is Gond the gnomish god of smithing and creativity to a reckless degree. Have it consider that god its "Father" and its goal is to create siblings as its original regiment was destroyed by the point of the story. Family bonds as a strong point and flaw. Your DM will have fun with that and so will you.

It's higher than normal at the beginning, but after fifth level or so it matches level appropriate armour, magical and otherwise.

Thesubscriber Withnothingtodo still is higher. They can have a shield with it if proficient and at level 5 the heavy set gives 19 ac. That’s equal to a character with plate and defense fighting style. It’s strong but the higher level you become the less of an edge it gives.

The Calculation for Warforged's Integrated Protection includes the bonus of the Defense Fighting style and and equivalent to up to +3 magic armor. That's why it seems very high although any character could get that high AC
