The best way to cut an onion to minimize the tear flow is to wet a paper towel and put it on your cutting board. The onion fumes get sucked up by the paper towel. Works like a charm!

First of all: the energy in this video was just *next level* ! I love how you two interacted and how much it added to the recipe! Secondly, I just bought my first canned jackfruit so it might be a great idea to actually try this recipe instead of the most popular bbq one! I am only worried I will not be bale to get my hands on all the ingredients... Caribbean cuisine seems to be using certain elements I have no access to but at the same time, your dishes seem so worth finding them (even online)! . Anyways, congrats on the book! An incredible idea and beautiful end result! Sending you lots and lots of love!

Re. the onions, I was told to put the cut side face down as much as possible to reduce the amount of chemicals or enzymes or whatever that's in the onion from reaching your eyes. I feel like it helps.

to chop an onion without tears it's about breathing through the mouth. if you only breath through the mouth no tears, just one sniff will being the tears. it is hard to cook without smelling but one sniff of chopped onion will bring the tears, it is hard to not smell how it's going but if you concentrate on keeping the nose closed and only taking air through the mouth no tears! (I know it sounds mad but it works)

Though the flavor of curry Jackfruit might be on, it doesn't have any significant protein. What can you do to add the missing protein in the dish? I was reading that Jackfruit seeds could be eaten. I don't know the flavor of the seeds (whether nutty or bitter) could they be added in some way to the dish? Or what else could be used to compliment the dish?

Purchased One Pot 3 Ways. Bought the Kindle copy. I have a clutter issue. Regarding The Fruit Jackfruit patties. Do you use organic Spelt for patties? The whit flour turns to sugar faster than the spelt. Plus white flour has chemicals in it and you know our food in general is GMO and contains pesticides. Wish you could emphasize organic when there is no other good product to use. We are going insane from these chemicals. We need to be reminded that health comes from food with nutrients, no GMO and no chemical additives. Also, sugar weakens our immune system. Please emphasize that in your meal preparation. Thanks!

Jack fruit is disgusting. Just by itself. To me it taste like a spoiled mango/pineapple and and with a cantelope texture. Super disappointing. Way to much work to get to the edible part. And then it's just yuck. But if your using as a meat substitute and cooking it I'm sure it's better than eating it as a fruit.
@jaclang58133 жыл бұрын
it soaks up everything its cooked in so you lose that slightly spoiled taste you mention.
