i feel like the difference between cats and dogs is that when im with a dog, i just want to run around and laugh so hard with them, like they have that chaotic good energy, but when with cats, i just want to lie down and cuddle, and play with them on a fixed spot, like feather on a stick or smt, and that has soft good vibes, like both are great, just depends on the mood

I thought it was a maremma sheepdog.
@adiarainfoster6 жыл бұрын
Wow yea I've never even heard of that breed, but looking at the picture, I could see how you would say that. After looking at many of the pictures, the hair of the Maremma is as thick and woolly as a Great Pyrenees, but it's not half as long. Pyrenees hair also doesn't tend to curl quite as much as the Maremma. The ears are also much more rounded. The over all head and body shape though is almost identical! Great Pyrenees (also known as Pyrenean Mountain Dogs) are also sheep dogs, bred to lay in snow all day and guard the flock. Look at their pictures side by side, then look at that big laid back boy in there again. Definitely Pyrenees. When you are looking up pictures btw, make sure you go to some place like the American Kennel Club or something similar. There are a lot of pictures that confuse the two breeds from people who don't know what they are looking at.
@tristanband40036 жыл бұрын
+Adia Raid Ah, okay, I was a little concerned. One thing about Maremmas, as opposed to Pyrenees, is that more of them are still "work animals"; one downside of Pyrenees being bred more for show and pets lately is that all their guardian instincts are getting bred out. However, that also means they don't get as bored easily. Maremmas are plenty laid back, but because they're a work breed they need to have something to guard, something to do, otherwise they go crazy or get depressed. I just hope this dog doesn't get neglected when the place closes up.
@sabrinapuckett18736 жыл бұрын
I've got a half Great Dane, half Great Pyrenees who's been my best friend for 15 years. He's been an amazing part of my life since I was very young, and yes these breeds are the gentlest giants you'll ever meet. Seriously recommend danes as a first dog.

Love this! I get the feeling that these dogs enjoy their time there, as far as I can tell of course :) The "contests" and bingo and such all seem designed in a way where it's pretty much a fun game for the dog, and people get to have fun guesses at which bingo ball the dog is gonna pick up for instance, while the dog has no idea it's bingo, it's just having a grand old time playing fetch :D I prefer this much more over trying to get dogs to do what you want and keep to rules that we invented and they have no idea of.

Frosty Rose Fox Rotties require a lot of training and a stern owner. If you're able to fufil that they are wonderful dogs. Unfortunately a lot of people don't train them properly, so they end up with behavior issues. It's the owners, not the dogs. That's almost always what it boils down to when dogs have issues.

Yeah but not every animal in animal shelters are as friendly as these ones, these ones have been trained by professionist.
@HelgaCavoli6 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea. The more people come and visit the more they'd take them home, besides, the more they see people the friendlier they become.
@onhold17066 жыл бұрын
On one hand, I see what you're talking about, and I think this would be a pretty good idea. This could make interactions with the animals easier because they can truly get to play with the animals and get to know them. On the other, I'm willing to bet a large majority of the animals in this park were born there, so they're more used to human interaction than feral or runaway dogs.

That would happen to me in the cat place. But I'm fine with that because I'm more a of a pupper person, so as long as I get to play with pups, I don't care about seeing the cats. (Sorry, cat lovers; blame the allergy if you want, but puppies are better :P )
@gingerdude5 жыл бұрын
It's not exactly because of the fur. In the dogs fur lives a mite that lives off his skin flakes. Then the mite excretes a substance which makes you have allergic reactions
@IceMetalPunk5 жыл бұрын
@@gingerdude Um... no? It's not a mite that's the problem (although some pets can have mites, and it's possible to be allergic to the mites; but that's a different allergy). Pet allergies are usually just allergies to the pet's skin flakes. Every animal with skin, including pets and humans, sheds skin flakes all the time, getting rid of the dead outer layer to make room for the new live cells underneath. If you're allergic to a certain pet, it's generally an allergy to those flakes.

I believe it's onomatopoeia (or giseigo in Japanese, particularly for human and animal sounds). In Japan dogs say 'wan wan', just like cats say nyan. In English it would be 'bark' and 'meow'. In my native language (Dutch) it would be "woef" and "miauw" ^^

Volunteer at a pet shelter, they would have me walk the dogs down a nice scenic foresty path, and if a dog was injured or unable to walk they would have me carry them outside and relax with them to just to be affectionate with them, the cat room you just literally play with cats for 2 hours, the kittens usually slept on my lap, I'm talking their head went loose asleep.
@schaeferschaefer21685 жыл бұрын
At the pet shelter I work at we have an open room with cats that are friendly with people- and anyone can go in there and play with them as they roam around. There’s also open outdoor dog pens where you can go and play with the dogs, but you have to sign a waiver for the dogs because (as rescues) sometimes they are a little agressive.
