All the dogs I’ve had in life were an adult and elders, they were easy going. Calm and quiet. But man, the puppy I got was a huge energy consumer. I’ve only had her about a week and a half. teaching her name is still unsuccessful, teaching her to sit has been easier, potty train his going half bad and half good.

So many good tips. The one about removing water and not letting them nap a couple hours before your bedtime are very clever. Seems like simple ideas but sure is helpful to have this as reminders. So much excitement with a new puppy!

do a video with a 9-10 week old puppy - a very different experience especially on the first days. they have to go into the crate and may not be trained to go in yet and they will cry and resist

She did describe what it looks like in that case - you need to count with it taking time (a LOT of time) and not start training when you already need it to be functional. If the puppy does not want to be in it day one, you can use a play pen around it to make it feel less confined. If your animal is crying and resisting, it's a sing you're moving the training too fast and need to make smaller steps :)

@Cole it's very time consuming and you have to have a lot of patience, at first I was upset with my dog because it would take her a while to pick up on things. So patience is key, especially when potty training. After about 2 or 3 months everything started to peice together fine and it turned out good

Thankfully I read up on crate training as this is my first time crate training a puppy. Never had to with my older dog because he never messes or chews anything no matter how long I'm gone, but this puppy gets into literally everything lol. He is 8 weeks old and is already doing amazing going into the crate and sleeping on his own with the door open but now I am a little worried about closing the door. I've only done it once for a few seconds and he immediately started to cry. Still a ways to go but so far so good. Watching your video really helped! Although, my puppy sleeps almost all throughout the night, is that normal or am I just lucky? Lol. I've had him since he was 6 weeks and after the first night he sleeps all night beside my bed in his dog bed. Thank you for the video, I will be checking out more of your videos. ❤️

Thank you for this video! Just got a Great Dane mix pup and was so afraid to let him out to potty bc of parvo, mainly bc someone an hour away from me has a puppy who's hospitalized with it right now. He will be getting his first round of vaccines this weekend but still so nervous he'll get sick.
