Not weird at all. Knowing that you are not alone and not the only person in the world suffering with anxiety would give you a certain level of comfort. The more you learn about yourself and anxiety itself, the more you will be in control of it. Highly recommend finding a group of people online or in your community to start talking and learning about anxiety. Talk therapy one on one is good too.

I think I understand why this works, as someone with zero medical/psych training. It's a similar idea to the 333 method, where you ground yourself in reality. But in this one, you're so preoccupied with the sensation and focusing on breathing, your brain stops racing. This works for me a lot better than the 333, because it's hands-on and physical, and it's multitasking so I can't allocate as much brain-RAM to panicking. I know this was four years ago, but thank you. You're still helping folks.

Riinnaa, Since it is a mind issue reach a state of equanimity where nothing disturbs you. For a relaxed life without anxiety sit on a chair, back and spine as erect as possible, hands on your lap with palms upwards, close your eyes and do nothing. Be still without moving and observe your incoming--outgoing breath and body sensations for around 10-20 minutes. Be as still as possible. Your breath is directly related to the mind causing anxiety. Plenty of thoughts will come but slowly negative thoughts will reduce. The mind is reprogrammed to reach equanimity. Do twice daily as per your convenience. Practice not over-reacting to any daily real life situations. Enjoy the above meditation without expectations and your life will transform. Make it a daily habit. Best wishes. Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

Sometimes the hardest part about anxiety is, when you're in a panicking moment, all affirmations and tools you've written down are hard to remember or aren't absorbed when you re-read techniques. I am happy I found this video as this technique is short, memorable and seemingly effective. The more tools in our anxiety tool belt, the better. Some things may work better than others for each individual, but this one feels like do-able and helpful. Thank you! ♥

So glad it's helpful! The trick is to regularly practice anxiety-reduction exercises when you're calm, so that they are more accessible to you when experiencing anxiety. If you learn to recognize the initial signs or anxiety, you may be able to stop a panic attack before it starts. It takes practice!

This is so awesomely clever and effective, love it! We forget to breath when we feel anxious and the visual eye hand coordination helps slow down our breath quickly so it slows the body down which tell our minds things are okay, its safe. This could prevent hyperventilating and full blown panic attack! Always good to have these kind of tools to manage anxiety which is really a major public health issue right now during the pandemic. Thank you, Namaste 🙏🤗💖

I’ve struggled with anxiety since I was a child. I’m 30 years old and I still have my moments. You have nothing to be ashamed of and I don’t know you but I don’t believe you are “faking” anything. Those fears are very real to us when we have panic attacks. Stay strong and keep a good circle of friends, you will get through it and there are many of us out there that are supportive and understanding. I hope this helps.

Thank you for this resourceful trick! I get nerve drenching anxiety when my blood sugar levels are low. This helped calm my nerves from a 10 to a six (scale of 10 be the highest and one being the lowest) which is a big step for me in the calm down process. So again thank you! I greatly appreciate the video and will be implementing this going forward. :)

thank you for this so much. I was going through a panic attack moment because I haven’t been myself lately and mid sobbing I realized I needed something quick to calm down, while my hands were shaking I accidentally clicked this video, never been so thankful for an accident ❤️
