Thanks guys, super interested in this. I'm running 93 plus water injection (100% water). My car is literally at the dyno right now . I'd love to see actual figures of whether it's worth using meth/water instead of straight water...hopefully very soon! If there's big enough difference, i'll switch before it's tuned.

Gas has an octane of about 105 RON as standard. That's why it is great for forced induction or high compression especially liquid injection.

i have serious doughts that no matter what they tell you at the pump that you aren’t getting 93 octane especially in Florida where the majority of money there is generated from tourism over 20 years ago i read a independent study done on Service Stations in the Washington DC metropolitan area and they had a way of testing the octane the majority of all the gas they bought was 89 octane that most manufacturers build and program the cars to run on the conclusion of the study was to not pay for the premium as they were putting the same fuel in all the tanks minus Deisel of course

Make sure you recognize c85 contains mtbe. And is oxygenated. It's not just highly regulated e85

for my Buick turbo guy's out there. running 21 Pound's of boost and up.you can't beat VP C 16 racing gas it's blue in color. 5 gallon's in ur tank with no pump gas, will have a well tuned Buick turbo car flying.from stock up to 19 pounds of boost.a good alcohol injection kit is good for ur turbo buick.you can use that with ur regular 91 pump gas.

That doesn't even make since. You wouldn't need to spray gasoline from an auxiliary setup. You just program more fuel into the tune. And spraying E85 like they do with methanol injection would just be wasting it. They do it to cool down the intake charge which contributes to the better knock suppression. The fact that it increases octane and adds fueling is a benefit. Latent heat of vaporization. Methanol and water and boost juice all remove heat from the incoming intake charge. It also helps suppress detonation. Gas doesn't do that well enough to benefit from it and neither does E85.

Well to answer the title of the video... Nitromethane obviously takes the cake. Methanol is more powerful than gasoline. For one, you can run higher compression or more boost due to methanol's higher octane. Methanol has a much higher ratio of hydrogen to carbon than gasoline, hydrogen is a more powerful fuel than carbon when burned at an Ideal fuel to air ratio meaning more pressure on the piston. This also means more water and less CO2 as exhaust byproducts, this in turn means that there is less resistance on the exhaust stroke because the water vapor shrinks much more than CO2 as it's cooling after the combustion stroke. Methanol atomizes better and due to its lower fuel content you must use more compared to gasoline, this results in faster, more efficient and more consistent combustion. Ethanol has similar benefits to methanol but not quite to the same extent.

I find these tests funny. If you dont calibrate the dyno O2 to see each fuels different stoich that is available for every fuel then you are wasting your time. a real dyno operator and engine tuner will know this. It is impossible to get the most out of each fuel without knowing and calibrating for this.
