I am hearing that rust is a bigger problem out in Ontario. Salt and the Great Lakes must be a lethal combination.

ApC rinse is awesome really loosens everything and minimizes the amount that you actually have to touch the paint

Yes, I am really enjoying the performance of that "Insekt remover" spray from 1Z Einszett.

Damn that R32 really needed some love and care, and you delivered as always outstanding job Rick. Yeah sadly rust really is a huge problem with the MK5 platform.
@RADGarage4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I am hearing that from many in the VW community. Plus, Ontario is wet and salty all winter, so this winter driven car had the odds stacked against it.
@Martymartinio4 жыл бұрын
@@RADGarage I live in the UK and have a MK5 R32. The rust is pretty much in the same areas as yours. What I've never understood is why VW never replaced the arch panels with plastic rather than metal, as even with a respray it only takes one stone to hit the inner archer and your are back to square 1! I am thinking about getting the underside treated with a rust treatment then sealed by a specialist company, as we suffer from salty roads here as well in the winter. Really like the end result! I want to do similar to mine as it's red, just to bring back that proper red and not the pink that is starting to come through. Just need to sort a few mechanical issues first though...
@RADGarage4 жыл бұрын
Martin Smth Cars are a commitment. I hope you find a fix for the wheel arch issue. I’d love to take your R32 from pink to red!
