@@regsparkes6507 I was about to say "Ya'll should retired the lead plate, but never repour that one since it was Danny's last". ... Then I thought about it for a moment and realized JUST HOW MUCH lead it'd take to cast a *_new_* one, and that was the end of it. That being said, yes, they DO have the technology, as thankfully Danny donated everything he used to make them _(as well as lots of other helpful stuff)_ -- whatever that entails exactly, some sort of burner, as well as the cast for it (a cast iron pan, presumably?) Thanks, Danny! *_*pours one out*_* _("one", being an unfired shotgun shell, of course!)_

DAMN I love Greg and his insane wit. Forget the slugs, forget the slo-mo, forget everything about the videos. He is the star of the show. Greg, if you're reading this, I would highly recommend you become a stand-up comedian when you retire from the force. The tales of being a LEO combined with your sharp sense of humor would easily attract people from all over the nation. Yes, I am here mainly for the firearms, but you're the one that has kept me coming back since your first appearance. Much love, brother. While I'm at it; Jeff, thank you for introducing us to such a wide cast of characters over the years. That driver's licence had me rolling. Alexey's designs are amazing, the penetrate anything like it's made of cotton candy and dump insane amounts of energy in soft targets. I would say it's a perfect home defense round, you can defend every room from any point in town without even getting up from your seat. And one final remark: When Gregg shoots that 2.5 ounce slug, you can see how strongly the gun starts to move backwards and the barrel twists before the slug even leaves it. Breanna and her sister are really great shots to hit their targets.

In my younger days, I had a Daisey 880 10 pump BB / pellet rifle at my parent's house. Their house lot was 65 feet wide. I used a 4 inch thick piece of Styrofoam as a paper target board with a piece of 5/8 plywood behind it to keep the projectiles inside the property. One day, I was shooting a lot of pellets at a paper target and didn't realize that I had punched a pretty good size hole in the Styrofoam. It had been doing a great job of catching the lead pellets and kept them from ricocheting around. I wasn't wearing any safety glasses and decided to try my luck shooting BB's. WRONG!!! I shot that BB, it went through the target, through the hole in the foam, bounced off the plywood, came right back home and skipped along my right temple. If it would have gone 3 inches to the left, it probably would have ran right back up the barrel. I wish I could say that I planned that shot but if I had, I would have never made it with a jar of 6,000 BB's. It made me a believer in safety glasses that day.

I just always enjoy watching these videos, great job as always Taofledercrew! Jeff's & Gregg's comments reminded me of some comments by viewers ages ago about there being no such thing as a "rifled shotgun barrel." I grew up in Michigan and rifled shotgun 'slug barrels' are popular for deer hunting as we couldn't use a rifle in the lower part of Michigan for deer. So here is a free tip to my fellow viewers (and yes it is what I find myself doing as well from time to time): if you see/hear some particular comment in a video that is contrary to what you know, research it a little before you comment that way you have information that is helpful and its backed up by others. It still may not be true so be wary of where you get your info but its better than trying to use anecdotal evidence [that's a misnomer] as...evidence. However, anecdotal stories about experiences are still great to read about.

It might be a good improvement to take a “professional” photo of each round in the same setting “modeled” for the picture. Just feel the intro jumps the eyes around more than necessary. LOVE you guys and always am pleased to see an new episode! Keep up the great work thank you. Where’s the gofundme/Patreon? Edit: found the merch, nvm.

Good job guys, your videos are always a highlight of my day! Good job standing up for marginalized communities... let the poor ballistics dummy identify however he wants! Note: I think the "sunburn" on that gel shot might have been a gas-check failure or something like that.

I’d love to see the schliren footage on a slug like that! I wonder if the shockwave would spiral bc of the flat point and scallops. 🤷‍♂️

That slug is amazing. That 'screw driver' blade is as OG said 'ploughing' through the target but i'd guess that as it's spinning it's also changing the airflow around the slug as it travels. I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of that round...being Scottish might not be enough for it to deflect off me

I really enjoy your videos. They are informative and educational. Looking at the background, you can see numerous footprints and travel ( typical ). May I suggest that you pass a fan rake in the background ( where possible ) for projectile recovery. Seriously, I am sure you guys do enough range work for these videos. Thank you for your time and work!

I'm sorry, I just had to comment - I loved hearing the Space:1999 theme playing in the background at the beginning of this video. I'm not sure whether any of the Eagles were setup to shoot shotgun slugs, but it certainly would have added to the mistique of the programme!!

The reverse ogive principle was developed back in the 70s (?) to create more effective pistol projectiles. They worked but had feed problems because of the odd shape. These modern versions with their phillips head screwdriver shape seem to have reached the happy medium. And this. This thing is the giant version. Utterly devastating. Them Russian boys don't mess around...

Awesome video. Those slugs are unreal. Also, if toilet paper ends up being in short supply again, do like I do and shoot catalogs. I usually have access to a lot of McMaster and MSC catalogs and they’re huge. I usually leave them out at my range so they will get wet and make poor man’s ballistic gelatin.

100 yards is reasonable with a slug if using something like a savage 212, or 220, and a sabot slug.

Actually 200 is well within range of a 12 gauge sabot slug and my NEF ultra slug will hold a 3 in group at 200 and I have stacked up many deer in the 125-200 range with the Remington accutips over the last decade and a half
