I’m so glad I’m finally watching these. I believe the catspaw dagger has already made a couple appearances through Sansa’s eyes. Twice we see him cutting fruit for them to share using a dagger. And both times he’s teaching her about how to play the game. Even mentioning how bad Ned was at it while flaunting the dagger in her face.

You are right - GRRM probably doesn't know enough about economics to go into much detail at all... but Little Finger seems to be at the top of the robber baron class... He'd be a Carnegie or a Rockefeller for sure... If they had railroads - Little Finger would probably own the Lion's share of them. If ANYONE could make use of Harranhal, it would be LittleFinger... a centrally located warehouse district would serve really well... and the complex/castle would eventually be well guarded... attracting lots of side businesses - the least of which would be the brothels. He could turn that curse around. My problem is that I can't see him on the throne... He's not playing the game of thrones for his own sake... though he may have a preference. I don't know who he wants to see on the throne.... but he's more a king maker than he is a king himself. His realm is economics... buying/selling... but they can't be too far away from railroads/mass transit.... right? I hope GRRM gets better in that area.

I'm in the camp that Shae is an agent of Varys, she was hidden in Chataya's brothel, a place Varys seems to have connections to, and she seems to act according to Varys's aims, like hanging around Tyrion and then turning and testifying against him, right when Varys did the same thing.

This was job well done. I am full of pleasant anticipation for part 2. Littlefinger is fascinating and you have managed to pinpoint just how many wheels there are inside the wheels we fans thought we knew. You've definitely provided some concision. Love the thoughts on his known and potentially known agents. Brilliant. You two give him a definite run for his money. When I think of Jeyne Poole, Ned, even that squire of Jon Arryn's, who was likely sacrificed for the furtherance of Petyr's plotting, I should feel ashamed for considering him one of my fave characters.Yet I do. I'd like him to win for a while, just not ultimately. I sometimes wonder what he'd do if he met Lady Soneheart, lol. Again, quality entertainment, thank you so much.
@RadioWesteros8 жыл бұрын
+Mary Harrison thank you! We feel much the same- he's a fascinating mix of contradictions and complexities and we love to hate him. The story will seem much more dull without him! He also has surprising points of pathos, which we hope will be evident in the next episode.

The extent of LF's money laundering is kind of staggering. I guess you can see how he could afford to use every lemon in The Vale for that mountain of lemon cakes for Sansa, and can be stockpiling food before winter (although how nefarious is it that he will be ransoming food for starving people?). Looking forward to part two and his interest in prophesy. Trying to wrap my mind around tapestries, Harrenhal, Lothson blood, Sansa. and what's in it all for Baelish. I'm sure that you'll bring it into focus, and I am already grateful for it !

Great Upload Radio Westeros. Littlefinger is definitely one of the most layered creatures creatures in the Song of Ice & Fire. I like your analysis. Littlefinger resembles a disease afflicting Westeros from one perspective while from another perspective he is the cure representing meritocracy in a feudal society. Though Littlefinger might be a power-monger, he seldom comes as evil. What are the chances of a dramatic reveal from LF according to you

Another fantastic episode-RW is really in a league of its own at this point-can't wait for Pt. II. I've long pulled my hair out over Shadrich. It seems unlikely that LF knows that Shad is looking for Sansa, as he would have had him killed by now if he knew. So from a literary standpoint, it seems pretty likely that his presence and coy comment about "stumbling on a bag of dragons" are likely to lead to Shad kidnapping Sansa, but then what? On their exit from the Vale, they'd probably be set upon by Tyrion's clansmen buddies with their new armor and weapons. Maybe Sansa the newly-minted player could use the Tyrion connection to bring them into her service, just as Tyrion was able to do in Book 1? On the other hand, Shadrich would have a hard time getting very far before LF noticed Sansa missing and sent an army of tourney combatants on a quest to rescue her. Alternatively, if Shadrich isn't going to kidnap Sansa, why has GRRM introduced him? Maybe he'll keep the secret under his hat and head alone to Kingslanding to tell Cersei? Of course, Cersei has quite a few problems of her own at the moment. All this is really making me salivate for Part II and your prognostications for the future Vale/LF/Sansa storyline. The whole Sansa/Vale plot is really a puzzle, and it's one area where it's almost certain that the show won't spoil anything, since they've already spoiled Sansa's arc in a completely different sense of the word.
@RadioWesteros8 жыл бұрын
+Kevin Moore Thank you! We truly hope part II lives up to expectations. Don't want to say too much because spoilers, but I think it's alright to say that while the show may have utterly abandoned a major part of Sansa's arc, we do see some broad stroke consonance. The rest we'll leave for next time ;)

@lenceagle18 жыл бұрын
Stellar as always!! But I don't see why Bron or Shea had to tell Littlefinger about Tyrion's first marriage disaster. Tywin spoke of it in the books, as did Jaime, I believe. Either of them could have mentioned it to Baelish. Cersei must have heard the story from someone (Jaime, cough cough). Besides, Tyrion was a son of the Lord of Casterly Rock. A story like that does not stay hidden. . . Especially when the story's key element involves 50 soldiers acting as more than witnesses. Great video, for real, though guys!!! Thanks.
@RadioWesteros8 жыл бұрын
+lenceagle1 we considered that of course, but we'd rule out Tywin and Jaime on the grounds that the story seems like a family secret and is very little spoken of even amongst the Lannisters. Guards could talk too, and probably would in real life, but given the fact that *as the story is written* Tyrion pointedly tells only those two people, both of whom have other suspicious qualities, one has to wonder if it's a clue. But ymmv of course :) Thanks for listening & commenting!

You said Littlefinger's "2nd attempt" to remove Tyrion was the hiring of the dwarves & getting him accused of Joffrey's murder. I think this is the 3rd attempt. The 2nd attempt was Ser Mandon Moore trying to kill Tyrion on the Blackwater. Tyrion assumes Cersei was behind it, but Cersei has not admitted to it. Mandon Moore was brought to the Kingsguard by Jon Arryn, which means Littlefinger probably suggested him to Jon. I'm not done listening to everything so maybe you do get to this later. Also, Penny did try to kill Tyrion when they met later. (a 4th attempt?) Maybe you will get to that too. I'm a few years behind in listening to these.
