I subscribed today, these are great.A nice new twist on R/R crossing viewing. I do miss the " old fashioned" pivot lanterns" that use to be on the gates back in the 50,s and 60,s. and gate stripes were black and white on double board gates...old and nostalgic.

Nice video! I especially like when you can see both the crossbucks and the light of the oncoming train in the shot, especially at night. Good stuff.

I enjoy this video and the one in Anderson, My preference is emphatically for trains running full tilt past and through small towns, where businesses and homes sit just a few feet from the tracks. I'm so glad that you have skipped the rural videos. Show us more of trains roaring through these small towns---with homes adjacent! Thanks again.

That's so cool. Thanks for sharing. How you figure out when the trains are coming? I sat at a sweet crossing by the ocean for an hr on the west coast here and nothing....tips?!

+Tractors, Trains and Planes, for this area I used three methods: 1) Observation. I live in Anderson, IN. which is just far enough to the west that when I see a train headed this way I have time to beat it here; 2) I make ample use of a scanner tuned in to the railroad frequency; 3) I have a computer program that lets me see trains coming from the other direction in time to beat them here. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Wow. I would have never thought. Do you mind if I ask what the program was called? I'm sure I can research the scanner needed... that's such a great idea!!! Love it! That would make life so much easier

Tractors, Trains and Planes it's called ATCS. it's a group of people that developed programs for train observing. They are pretty strict on limiting admission. You can do a search for them and request to join but be warned this isn't for the novice computer operator. The program is somewhat difficult to install and run, but well worth it.

That's the first time I've ever seen Mexican railroad cars on a train here in the US. Those are the Ferromex cars you see. That could have been a part of a Kansas City Southern train as I saw some KCS cars on the train as well. KCS is the only American Class I railroad that operates in Mexico as well as the US.
@TheTrainStationinc9 жыл бұрын
GrnArrow092 I noticed that also. And they are new and shiny as well. I only recently started learning more about KCS and the Mexico connection. I'd noticed all their power passing through within just the last few years. Just recently a caught a KCS/TFM power combo that lead me to research and learn more about this company. KCS is still new to me but their history is quite long and as you mentioned their roots run deep into Mexico. Makes sense. Bringing new cars from the factories that used to be here in the USA, passing by the very factories they tore down.

I heard a noise what was that noise? Also if a fire alarm and a railroad crossing combine what would it sound like?

Zachary Reno Not sure (yet). I go "train chasing" (as the wife and I call it) as often as I can. I have a few crossings close to being ready, just needing one or two more trains. It depends on where fate leads me on any given day and then if I'm lucky enough to have trains there waiting for me. As any train spotter will tell you, there are certainly good days and bad days.

"Fast trains and a blind curve." Our main line has these traits too, nearby us. Although freight trains go full speed at night only.
