thank you for doing this as Susie's deal. my exact idea was I would get this tent for trips with just me and my daughter as an easy set up. been considering this option for almost a year. In all the reviews I've seen on this tent I've never seen anyone mention the huge gap in the roof allowing a spider to crawl in! crazy! the opposite of what these two gals want in their tents. thanks for saving me the money and time!

This tent looks perfect for a US camp site where everyone is car camping with novelty tents, utterly useless everywhere else! I adore Susie’s appraisal is she doesn’t fill the segment with BS, she says it how it is! Go Susie!

It's always nice to see you both out together. Having Susie's opinion on the tent is great for me. I don't camp alone anymore due to health issues but I do everything I can when I go. I agree with Susie, return it. Air flow is a must especially in the rain when doors and windows are shut and the humidity is high and condensation build-up is just as bad as a leaky tent. As much as I love camping, I hate bugs and snakes, Lol. Thank you Susie for your honest opinion. Stay safe and enjoy your empty nest as much as best as you can. Looking forward to your next trip out together.

Same here. T4 Plus Overland Edition. Best car camping tent I've ever owned, and I've been car camping for 30 years. Works excellent for winter camping at sites with electric hookups. A small space heater is more than enough to keep things warm well below freezing.

Absolutely love my Gazelle T4. It's been my every-trip tent for the past two years. I just strap it to my roof rack and it's out of the way! Also my pup loves the extra stretching room inside the tent. Also I'm 6'1 and I can stand up fully in the T4 tent, so if you're taller, that may be the one for you.

I treated my T4 with Permethrin thanks to your videos Luke and it did make a difference for insect control. I can only speak to the T4 floor but there are 4 corner hooks and red tabs marking the center points - making it pretty easy to re-apply the floor. I can easily fit 2 standard cots and my black lab inside with our gear. I agree with your points around the tightly woven mesh. Overall, I truly love my T4 and it comes down to the interior space and ease of setup. Thank you for all the videos you do Luke!

Love the unbiased review. I do feel like their quality has gone down slightly since we purchased our first Gazelle. We had the T4 for a few years and never had a single issue. We have since upgraded to the T4 Plus Overland and have noticed some quality issues but nothing too concerning. We used both in some pretty heavy storms and neither leaked. In one instance our site flooded to the point that the water was just below the bathtub floor velcro point and still no water came in. I will say my only complaint is the packed size but I knew we were going to use it more for extended trips and not short overnighters. In the end, I would still buy another one in a heartbeat.

I'm a guy who has backpacked using only a tarp (with no floor, no netting, no bug protection) since 2005. I've backpacked all over Oregon and Washington. A few bugs won't bother me... having said that, the T4 that I just bought for car camping trips had better meet my expectations! I really appreciate your review of the smaller but nearly identical T3. Hopefully the T4 I purchased turns out to be better quality and waterproofness than what you two experienced. Luke and Susie, your channel is rare - you give honest reviews and that is priceless. Keep up the good work.

I have the Magellan version of this pop out tent and I've been pretty happy with it. I am 5'4" and I have cancer and I struggle with strength and weakness. The handle straps on Magellan bag for the tent are big enough I was able to wear the tent bag as a back pack to tote it from my car to the camp site which really helped to offload some of the heavy weight. I was able to set the tent up and take it down on my own, including the rain fly. So far, we have stayed warm in the winter and cool/comfortable in the heat, and dry in the rain and bug free in it. My husband is also 6'4" and he was able to fully stand up in it also! I recommend giving it a try and see if you like it better!

When I was a kid, I’d go camping with my dad and sister and while neither of them could sleep while it was raining, I would always have the best sleep of my life and it’s still the case 20 years later. I love camping in the rain, the sound of the rain hitting the tent, the tarps, and the ground puts me right to sleep. Also, the weather way up here in Northern Ontario Canada has been about the same as what you’re getting. One week will be nice and warm summer-like temperatures, then the next week is back down to below freezing, mix of rain and snow.

Love this vids with Suzi. So nice to see 2 people who have known each other for decades, and are still in love. The kids are raised. Life is still fun. You can bet she likes your new muscles! Couple points: you're ace on the money pointing out the velcro attached floor. I have no idea WHO thought this would be a good idea? But they were not campers in Dixie. That much I can assure you. There is no telling WHAT is gonna get in that tent with you, dude. I will not even buy a tent that does not have a sewn in floor. ANY tent that can not seal off bugs has Total Purpose Failure, in my book. Secondly, your experience inSIDE this muggy mess of a tent is quite common in Spring and Summer rains. What DOES it point out the need for? But a Baker Tent style awning. The whole shaded area outside the tent. You can bet sheepherders in Arabia knew about it thousands of years ago, and they had tents which HAD that outdoor shaded area. Armies in Europe who for centuries had pup style A frames for the troops also had larger tents for generals and officers-- which ALSO had an awning to sit under. Great video. She's adding so much to your vids!

When my family visited my grandpa's house in Arkansas in the summer, we were not alone. Grampa had many kids, and most of their families visited him at the same time. So us kids got sent to the back porch to sleep. It was closed in, with los of windows to open. Five beds in a row, and a ingle box fan to blow over us in the hot summer nights. The lucky ones got the bed closest to the fan.

I ordered this from Rei for store pickup. I hauled it out to my car; it’s huge an heavy, and they helped. I had lunch in the same shopping center and pondered my purchase. After lunch, I, with help again, hauled it right back into REI and returned it. It never left the parking lot, and I’m soooo glad after seeing this review.

Great video. My wife and I were married 40 years till she passed this last Jan. Now I know why we lasted so long! Coffee! We both did like our coffee. Truth be told it was our common love for Jesus. Good to see you both out together enjoying your coffee and each other's company. Thanks for all the videos. I agree that where y'all are is heaven. We always loved coming to that area, our youngest went to AppState and I plan on many truck camping adventures out that way this year. While looking at all the possible stoves to replace my ancient 3 burner coleman fuel stove. I was leaning heavily on your recommendations for smaller stoves. But my 5 yr old grandson asked me how I was going to cook my breakfast and my coffee at the same time. Well, that did it. 2 burner it is. Still like to watch you review things that I know I will never get. One last thing to get is a rain fly to extend my Kodiak Canvas truck tent so I will have a cooking area. Stay safe and God bless.

In the early 1950s, we used to go swimming at a forest preserve pool in the summer. We walked about 3 miles to get there, swam, then went to its concession stand and get a hot dog for a nickel! They were the best.

You looked young and smart in that hotdog footage. Is that why you added it 😂. The rain sounds are so pleasant.

Hi Luke and Susie, my favorite videos are when you both are out camping together! Luke, I love how you watch out for Susie, you always make sure she’s ok, Susie is an independent woman, but it’s awesome that you always put her first, on one adventures awhile back, you took part of her pack weight, she wasn’t feeling well, you always look out for her, and that makes you an awesome husband, and you two are an awesome couple, I think this is one of the many things that us viewers love about your channel!

FINALLY. I 've been pestering you to do a tent/tarp adventure with Susie in a good weather event, That's one I had never seen. And yea, I don't do spiders...I wouldn't camp in this thing if the company gave me one. Great episode.

Day 3 of asking to review the Coleman Darwin 2 tent. It’s a popular budget tent would be great for the beginner camper to see a proper review/test of it.

He only reviews one off boutique camping gear from brands that will go out in a few years. He’s not interested in reviewing gear that the average person can acquire from local sources.
