I'm a protestant, raised in the UCC, with experiences in Evangelism but I love your teachings! I think I'm real close to tears on this one. I've contemplated going to a Mass, I went once because my friend was Catholic. But I've never gone for myself. I have family that are practicing Catholics as well.

@tinag7506 I'm queer, so I'm very leery of church. But I live in rural il, 3 hours south of Chicago, so there's no shortage of Catholic churches in my area. I picked one, and I'm going this Sunday. I'll let you know how it goes and if I decide to go back. Does it really matter which one I choose? Because I know selecting a Protestant church is no easy task.

@@flowerboy4269 I hope you enjoy your visit to Mass. Which specific parish? Well remember who you are there to see- our Lord. The mass you celebrate is the same mass happening all over the world and celebrated by the angels and Saints, how wonderful to be able to share in something so sacred. Keep that at the front of your mind you will be fine. Wishing you the very best for Sunday and I will keep you in my heart and prayers.

Being almost 70 years old doesn't make surrendering completely to God easier. But surrendering to God makes life easier because I don't have to do everything by myself. Prayer, confession and especially the power of the Eucharist makes all things possible. Because the impossible, unsolvable is waiting on all of us. Like a baby being born, the baby actually participates, but a lot of the heavy pushing is done by another.

Hi Fr, I love that you picked out two samples of healing and faith. I'm part of a prayer group that prays for healing online. Two weeks ago, a need for an extra prayer partner popped up so I changed plans to pray. The focus is on the guests, but that night someone called out for spines to be healed and my back started doing weird things. A fall down the stairs several years ago damaged a disc and tissue and it really limits my activities. But there it was, doing something weird, and the down-leg pain stopped. Within 24 hours it was apparent that a significant partial healing took place. No pain from the disc area since. I know Jesus heals physically, and I've been prayed over dozens of times for the back, but that night Jesus graced me with the healing that has significantly changed my life! He is so good, and I am so eager to keep praying for others to be healed! I do have faith He heals. I've seen so many amazing healings. His love is so overflowing.

I’m genuinely curious and asking out of good faith, when they changed the plans to pray and they started to pray instead for spines to be healed, IN that moment, did you have faith that moment you were going to get healed or were you just thinking much about it? Why do you think this time your spine gone healed when many times before you got prayed over but didn’t receive any healing? Thank you.
@pattysayssew36094 ай бұрын
@@Blossom13745 That is a great question. I've had two big healings: carpel tunnel and my back. Neither time was I praying for myself, but for others. The first time was at a healing Mass, where I was praying for my sister. I was healed, she was not. Then this time, where I was there to pray for others. Also, in both cases I hadn't planned to be there for the event. They were both a last minute decision where I gave up something i wanted to do to be part of the healing event instead. For the recent one, I specifically decided what I was planning could wait because it was more important to pray for the guests. It is possible the message from Jesus to me in this is that my faith is coming through in that I know He heals. I have seen incredible healings. We just have to show up and ask. And sometimes, unexpectedly, you're the one who gets healed even when you didn't ask because someone else did on your behalf. Thanks again for the question. Thought provoking.

@@pattysayssew3609 Thank you for replying! And I’m happy to hear you got healing, praise be to God! I ask bc I have an illness and I’ve been prayed over but never got healed, however I’ve heard from different ppl that it was sometimes when they least expected it or were doubtful (in the sense that they weren’t of the faith) and got healed, so I always believed while faith is important, I also think Gods will in definitely involved and he gives when he wants it, idk that just been my observation and I may be wrong but I’m grateful you shared your testimony bc i think it was beautiful and also thought provoking. God bless you🥰

I was outside, listening with bluetooth earphones to a Christian lady preach (she's great), then this video comes up right afterwards. My father, who has been a devout Catholic all his life, daily Church goer, has been a great source of scandal to me all my life because I could never understand why the thousands of reception of the Eucharist, thousands of masses did not fundamentally change him. Yesterday, I went to see my parents, and on my way out, I used the wrong word, and he gently tapped me on the back of my head (we all know what that means, right?), so this video, this message is a consolation from God because it makes sense that the mass and the Eucharist are not ''magic'' per se. They only operate their ''magic'' with a willing vessel. And i wanted to acknowlege it, Fr. Mike and God. I was beginning to spiral into pretty bleak and dark thoughts and ideas. So odd to me how *this year* God is knocking harder than he has ever done. I know we're in the end-times, so that could be his last-ditch effort to save a hopeless wretch like me.

If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him (1 Corinthians 3:17): Let every man be careful of how he lays his foundation. The only foundation we are to lay is that of Jesus Christ (1 Cor 3:11). The foundations of gold, silver, and precious stones are of *_good intentions_* that glorifies the Father; it is by this that we are saved. However, the foundations of wood, hay, and stubble are of the world; these will be burned up and the man shall suffer loss, but he will be saved by the foundations of gold, silver, and precious stones that glorify the Father (1 Cor 3:12-15). Our bodies are God’s temple. If any man builds wickedness and evilness deliberately, God will destroy him (Hebrews 10:26). As we grow in God’s righteousness, we receive the mind of Christ, who has the mind of God. As we grow, we get rid of the wood, hay, and stubble and we walk in the power and spirit of God through Jesus. The temple of God is holy-which temple are you? (1 Cor 3:17)
