I've had so many of them just do that on their own in my first playthrough lol. If you get them stuck in a weird place without many handholds, then get them really interested in a noise or something, they tend to accidentally let go and fall

GOD the Pipeyard glitch 😭 I lost my first two slugpups there and was genuinely mortified when I realized what I had done. I had passaged to Pipeyard and when I didn't see my pups with me I assumed that meant that pups weren't transferred during passages since I had never passaged with pups before this. I then assumed that if I passaged back to where I was originally then I'd find my pups waiting for me. Obviously I didn't find them there, but now I had also saved my game without them which meant that they were gone forever :')
