have y'all seen her "I'm Hilary Duff and you're watching Disney Channel" cut? YIKES lol but I honestly think it was part of her charm because she was naturally like that outside of her movies at the time, unlike Debby Ryan (thankfully). her acting was definitely stilted and supposed to be girl-next-door but it's also because she was playing roles her age she likely related to and was heavily influenced by her coach when she started with Lizzie McGuire. even though she seemed older and put together to us kids at the time, she still was still an awkward teen that had to navigate acting and being in the spotlight without the natural.. 'confidence' and star power like other teen idols like Miley. she also had body image issues at the time so I think the weird mannerisms were sometimes her being uncomfortable in the assigned clothes.

My dad also has shirts and sandals from him, it's nice to have something from your loved one And before my guy you respond telling someone how idk, "wrong" it is Realize kinda how in-sensitive it is to tell someone who had a loved one die and wanted to keep them close is unnormal. Hey Jilli, could you tell me some things about this Jenny Nicholson’s content and style? Seems like a bunch of peeps like her and I’m always looking to subscribe to women’s, LGBTQ, and POC channels to show support, and when I support, I click like on every video, watch every video they upload, sit through all the ads, and post comments, often multiple comments, and about topics or in ways that will get other people to comment on my thread which helps boost engagement for the content creators (“CC”)...but that support is a symbiotic relationship, so the CC has to provide entertainment, offer knowledge, act as an escape from this pandemic, etc., in other words, make good content! Hehe. So if you could just write a few things that you like about her videos, not her as a person, just her style, subjects, etc.I think it’s important that some of us guys just support women, no criticisms, no judgments, no misogyny, and no mansplaining. Thank you, in advance, for your help, I really appreciate it. I hope u and ur Ohana are staying safe and healthy during this pandemic. Lotsa love and aloha from Honolulu! 😁❤️🤙🏽🌈☀️ PS - One of my favourites is Kennie J.D., short for Kendall. She uploads on Saturdays and calls them “Bad Movies and a Beat”, where she gives commentary on movies, usually b-tech level movies, but sometimes she’ll do mainstream movies. But the whole time she’s also beating her face and she’s done some really good looks. She has a very similar vibe to Nick DiRamio, and with Nick having done makeup professionally and still enjoys it...I keep telling people that I think they’d be an awesome collab! bruh not to rant but there's also that scene with the instructor where he gets her to sing Caro Mio Ben and it's actually her singing it (unlike that mashup of like 3 obviously different singers in the lala portion lol) and I thought it sounded rather nice, but after reading the comments on the YT clip and listening to others sing it, it would seem that I know nothing, her technique is ???, and that piece takes a semi-experienced classical singer to perform 'well' even if it seems easy. some were being snobs about a bubblegum Disney girl "daring to sing it" (smh) but it would seem it isn't a beginner piece due to the language, which Terri technically was and the instructor even had her sing it out of key because of that. so WHY would they give her that when they know the movie will inevitably attract some music folk and presumably had some on the production team?? it doesn't need to be masterful but just make sense. Hilary was my idol as a kid and had some great pop hits but she's not a strong singer, though they could've chosen songs that were in her range because they did at some points (Ik it was to promote her album but still) or they could've found a believable voice double so I'm just confused about a lot of the production choices now

So for those interested but not interested enough to Google it, the plot as told by wikipedia goes thusly: Black family in the US in opposition to Apartheid, dad's a congressman, daughter Piper wants to meet someone from South Africa White family in South Africa is rich as hell and profiting from Apartheid, daughter Mahree thinks her black maid is her best friend but also sees nothing wrong with Apartheid. She wants to go the US and doesn't realise she'll be living with a black family because she thinks black people can't be politicians (?!?!), while Piper doesn't know there are white people in South Africa (?!?!?) so they both freak out a little (the wiki mentions Mahrees father hoping that she learns that the US is not a paradise, so they might've kept that information from her to shock her, but you'd think Piper at least knows about what Apartheid actually is???). So they fight a bit with each other, then they become friends, they get news that a black freedom-fighter in South Africa who was arrested earlier (to the delight of Mahrees cop-father) was murdered, Mahree gets kidnapped and held at the South African embassy in the US, congressman-dad gets her back, she says something shitty about the murdered freedom-fighter, Piper gets pissed, congressman-dad explains to Mahree that they had a long fight in the US and that South Africa is going through the same right now. The girls make up and when Mahree goes back home she shows her maid that she has sewn the flag of the ANC into her coat, meaning that she supports black liberation. The end. Also some symbolism about different people working together in form of the tale of the weaver bird, a bird that makes its nest from many different feathers and works with other birds. The tale seems to be mentioned a lot throughout and the last sentence in the plot synopsis is that Mahree releases the weaver bird. No idea if the symbolic bird has become a literal one or if that's in reference to her maid.

It talked about prejudice, racism, apartheid, and the murder of Steve Biko. Very heavy film.
