There are many who go up to the himalayan mountain for mediation and relaxation, but for me, watching Becky, the outdoor girl makes me fall into deep meditation.

I love how you take your time and don't rush. Can't believe after all that work your hands look like a model's. Love the laid back vibe and cute smiles. Glad to see someone using a carpenter's-type handsaw instead of the ubiquitous Bahco Laplander everyone seems to worship. In Scouts we learned to lash: wrap thrice, frap twice. We used a clove hitch but timber hitch fine. Keep up great vids!

Thank you, well good bit of rain water does the trick aha. Ah nice, always good lashes to learn :)

I've used a similar method to make a blanket and pole stretcher except the blanket folded in 3rds over 2 strong poles and the person laid on top. Yoube really enhanced this! You are very clever and a delight to watch!

Great video. As I started out, we only used a wool blanket and a 12'' X 12' sheet of plastic. I used this system in the later days of my poverty camps. I would lash the runners to the tripods, then use rope to make a mattress, then add a standard lean-to roof. By far the best setup without a tent or hammock. You did a good job.

Another great and informative video. Never seen the tripod bed before great idea. While in the Army we used out ponce and poncho liner and a sleeping system just as your wool blanket. Very light and quick sleeping system and water proof. Just another idea for a light and easy system. Keep up the great job!

Well done Becky, sometimes we get caught up in hi-tech that we forget the simple proven ways to survive outdoors. I do historical reenactments of the Mountain-man time period of the USA "pre 1840". and this design was used for base camps and even traveling camps. The only difference is that instead of a wool blanket . Sail (Canvas)cloth was used as the tube. Also a blanket stitch gves you a better more secure seam.

Great improvisation. With a taller ridge pole, you could vent for a fire to keep you warm when it is cold. Let the fire go a bit smokey before you turn in to repel mosquitoes. We are really enjoying your channel. So glad we subscribed.

+Girl Outdoors.. Great bed build project. Using your multiple skills to complete. Everything comes together well with all the proper planning and materials and tools. I like the fact that you didn't stop at making just a great comfortable bed but you made it a complete shelter with the ridge pole and tarp. I like this way better than a hammock. For me a hammock is to confining and not really comfortable as it squeezes your body frame and makes you sleep in a way that a body has to conform to the hammock. Simply not a comfortable sleep system for me. I like this some what modified and improved hammock style. Btw... those were some great meals you cooked over on the Bushwacker channel. Take care... seeya soon Becky!
