They do the boat in the Tour that they are currently doing, except the whole band does it split into several white boats. (They are currently starting the US tour now i think) . The audience loves it, so the trust is just there and it works flawlessy. It's awesome

Rammstein Haifisch is a reminiscence of the 3 penny opera by Kurt Weil and Bertold Brecht. Mecky Messer is a very very covered song from this musical.

The model for Rammstein was the Dreigroschenoper - Threepenny Opera by Bertolt Brecht. One song is title in German "Und der Haifisch der hat Zähne" - in English " And the shark who has teeth"! The premier took place in 1928. At the suggestion of Leonard Bernstein, it was translated into English and performed on Broadway in 1952.

Hi you two. Great, enjoyable reaction. As always. Flake said in the making of video to the official video of the song, that he likes this song very much, because it has this workers song feeling. Parts of the lyrics are from "the three penny opera" by Berthold Brecht. "The Moritat of Mackie Messer". One of the other band members (don't recall who) said, that they started to do the boat thing, to draw the attention from Till, so he could get a break from being looked at. He gets really tense, and when he can't get a break from the audience's attention, he often takes it out on one of the other band members. Often on Olli, the bass player. Flake got hurt a few times, or the audience would maneuver the boat outside of the venue. Flake then had to run back to the entrance to get back inside and on stage. At times with some difficulties, because security didn't recognize him. The band was really surprised and happy, the audience celebrated their appearance at the festival. So modest. Thanks for this reaction! You always entertain 😁 Actually, now they are doing this crowd-surfing every single show. If you think about this, it is quite safe for them: the boat isn't following any strict path, so ensuring security would not be possible - people are steering the boat. And if you think about someone wanting to trip the boat over - it would require a group of people (about 20) that would organize themselves to crouch, and they would need to be in exact right place. Rather unlikely. And - beyond that - who would do this? Everyone loves Rammstein, especially on Rammstein concerts! ♥ Have a nice day! ☺

In the latest tour he has someone with him in the boat as he is very lite and can get tipped out lol, also you should read Till’s poetry, I have a couple and he is a true wordsmith, I was at a slipknot concert where a guy got tipped out and his camera was stolen. The boat trip did not always run so smoothly. There were also “accidents” where the boat capsized. But nothing happened and everyone took it with a sense of humor 😂 In Bert Brecht's Threepenny Opera there is the song by Mackie Messer (Mackie the Knife) “And the shark, he has teeth, and he wears them on his face....” Maybe you know the opera. The music is by Kurt Weill. I´m sure Till had that in mind.

The refrain is a reference to the song "Mack The Knife" from the "The Threepenny Opera" by Bertolt Brecht. The reference works only with the original german lyrics. The answer is...yes...Flake has been dropped many times. In the really old, smaller shows, the dinghy is smaller, and he slams every drink that's held aloft! The band still does this live today...but its the entire band coming back to the stage after a performance on a platform in the stadium crowd. Till doesn't usually get in the boats. If I can find it, I'll mail y'all a copy of Flake's book, a biography...you'll appreciate him more!

This is Rammstein's fan trust. In the spirit of the song (trust, friendship and cohesion). It takes a lot to get into a boat and trust that nothing bad will happen. That the fans also bring Flake back. On one tour they played on two stages each. A small one in the middle of the audience and the big one. They start on the little one and after a few songs they all let themselves be carried by several boats by the fans to the main stage. And of course Flake is part of the group. But you also have to know about Flake that you can't take him seriously in interviews. He has a very dry sense of humor and usually the opposite of what he says is true. He is just as involved in every decision-making process as everyone else in the band, in equal parts. Nevertheless, he is special.

Suesue and the Wolfman opened a door they never will close and they are still ad the beginning of discovering Rammstein. Crowdsurfing in a boat was often Flake's big time for revenge on his fellow co-members of Rammstein, who often pranked him. Flake often made fun of the fact that he just didn't return with the boat on time and the other Rammstein members had to wait on stage and keep playing. Sometimes all the Rammstein members on stage were really pissed off, waving their hands and feet at him to return to the stage immediately, but Flake didn't return and he had his revenge and his fun. Boatsurfing used to be Oliver Riedel's job, but he sometimes crashed to the ground when the fans weren't careful. So of course Flake had to be used for this act 🙂🙂

Another great song. I heard they quit doing the crowd surfing because at some point at one of the shows,the boat was tipped and people almost disrobed him.
