When making food storage, it can be a good idea to simply store large amounts of food you're going to need anyway. You don't need MREs or some special "survival" food. I store oatmeal, protein powder, canned tuna, and peanut butter because they have a shelf life of several years and I know I'll eat them anyway. If I build a large store of it, then replace it at the same rate I eat it, I'm not wasting money on survival food I may never use

I can live on rice and lentils forever. Lots of water and I’m set.

You know that episode of Futurama when Fry goes to a Star Trek convention and instead of fans asking the panel of cast members questions about the show, they ask questions like how to prevent your dish washing sponge from becoming mouldy? I feel like this is what’s slowly becoming of your channel and I’m 110% here for it 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I certainly have my disagreements with the LDS church, but I always admired the food storage thing. More people should do it.

I'm here in North Carolina, and people I worked and went to school with were isolated for ten days to two weeks with no power, no potable watee, and no communication. I keep about two months of provisions, including batteries, heating and lightning oils,three tents waterproof matches, and medical supplies. You also need to be able to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your stores from bandits and predators. Plus, I can live off the land if the ecosystem isn't compromised, but I'm not a survivalist, so I need gear to fish, trot, hunt without firearms and trap.

In Texas, practically everyone I know has at least 3 months of food storage and water! I practice rucking 7 miles with 5 days of food on my back... weekly... not weird here! LOL

I'm Mohawk and my ancestors used to store dried and smoked corn for famine so we didn't have to eat trees like the Algonquins.

Food scientist here. The best recommendation for emergency foods are shelf stable foods, such as canned foods, RTD mixes, MREs, modified atmosphere foods (jerky sticks), peanut butter, protein bars and bottled water. The lower the prep time (no cooking), the better.
@Sbv-25Ай бұрын
All foods should have minimal prep time tbh

Another youtuber, Dan from the Chart Guys is also a bit of a prepper, and he was hit by the storm. He had a few months worth of food in storage, but none of his neighbours were prepared, and he wasn't about to let them starve, so his rations would've ran out in about a month in reality. Something to think about

Fair bit of tinned food and dry store food, I guess we wouldn’t starve for a month, the problem would be water, there is maybe 10Litres of bottled water and a couple of crates of Pepsi and Tango, but we are not prepping for the apocalypse thats just a snapshot into our stock rotation. Experience shows that toilet rolls become scarce for some reason before anything, I think we might be good for 2 weeks on that as well.
@BWater-yq3jxАй бұрын
Yeah wtf was that toilet paper hoarding about in covid??

Generally speaking from a practical perspective, 3 days worth of food and water is good for most situations. Past that would require more knowledge and preparation of what may become a problem for the individual. An example would be any form of prepping for something like a post apocalypse would need to look into forms of sustainability like farming and manufacturing in order to keep some form of civilization and that takes an ungodly amount of planning. TLDR: Its best to prep with a community in mind, not just yourself.

Absolutely. Far too many people fantasize about hunkering down by themselves in the apocalypse.

Ramsey, something that i came to realize is that the secular people are more apocalipict now than most religious, is climate change, and i have seen more and more of people declaring thenselfs as antinatalists. What would you have to say of the grown of an ideology that tells people should no procreat because the world is just suffering, and having kids is amoral, bring a life into this painfull world without consent. And i've been seeing to many of this lately. To sum up, what do you think on those two things? The seculars being more worried about doomsday than the religious and this absurd ideology called antinatalism?
@RamseyDeweyАй бұрын
This “anti-natalism” used to be called “zero-population”, and “communism with Chinese characteristics”, and “Marxism”, and all kinds of other things throughout the decades. It isn’t new. The CCP used to endorse that doctrine. Now they are begging people to have to children because if they don’t, the population will drop so dramatically in the next generation that China won’t have the numbers to be sustain itself as it has hitherto done. Even the actual communists woke up to the fact that “anti-natalism” was a bad idea. Think about that for a minute. As for the fear mongers using fear to manipulate the population to do their bidding? That’s not new either.
