What I like about Randy apart from he's talent is he plays song's Jimi never played live
@brandall1013 жыл бұрын
TBH, he plays them like Jimi on his best days as well. He tries to be faithful to the recorded material and then improves upon the energy for a live performance, something that Hendrix mostly didn't really do... which is weird considering how much Hendrix would toy with something in the studio, just to go another way live.

Randy is brilliant, a great player but his performances also remind me what a truly great songwriter Jimi was, creating such a brilliant range of moods, great melodies and strong arrangement variations. In the 21st century we certainly have lots of great, techically amazing guitarists , shredders and virtuosos, but who can create such memorable songs as Jimi's? Randy's trio is quite amazing at bringing Jimi's material - even the very complex overdubbed studio songs -- to vivid life, and that's also astonishing. What a player!

I've always liked this song since I heard it back in the early 70's. You guys are the only musicians who actually do it justice. Randy nailed the intro and then the fun begins. Not one beat missed. Walter's back up vocals match perfectly with Randy's. I've shared this on social media and my boys loved it.

Sometimes I worry about tribute bands not writing original music, but then these guys play one of my favorite Hendrix songs that I've never heard Jimi play live. This song followed by Watchtower and Voodoo Child (SR) comprise one of the greatest sequences of songs ever imo. UFO, you guys rule. It's time to put my 1 year old daughter to bed and all she wants to do is point at the computer and hear more of you guys. As I showed her this video with others like Hear my train, she studies it more than ANY cartoon she's seen to this day. I have a PRS autographed by Billy Cox himself as my father spoon fed me Jimi, as I do my daughter. And I look at the Experience Hendrix tour and laugh knowing if you guys played there, the rest would be exposed and not even wanna play. Coming from Memphis/Nashville, I respect Eric Gales, but Randy is the total package. Thank you for the great playing. Love your bass solo of Machine Gun, too.
