This was so good to hear again. Somehow Randy gets forgotten when I think of my all-time favorite singers, and he is one of the best I have ever heard.

@@RockN2Country This quote as written has alot of personal meaning to me...the semantics can be disputed, but my life and what I know of Randy's is not a hair splitting dilemma but rather one of revelation.

@@davidemswiler4351 I am fine now. But it was a hard time. I am nice to everyone. And that is how I expect to be treated.

Thanks for that reaction! Very cool! It didn't need a lot of instruments because that would have been a distraction to the message he was getting across and grab you as intended. That's what enthralled me to enjoy pure country music.

Randy is one of the best. I think he is over look a little when it comes to the greats. In my opinion he is on the shortlist of greatest. It’s a shame that he can’t perform like he did before the stroke.

Huge randy fan form 1986, he was my Elvis in my teen years. But never could get into this one. Even when I heard it on his rare 1983 live album before we redid it. You could do a whole video reaction to his album storms of life. I would say it’s top 5 best country album ever

Being the one who walks away isn't easy either. I waited for a man to come home time after time. He was a wonderful person full of fun and and adventure and love, but he had a gypsy soul and was utterly unreliable. I so wanted to just stay there, waiting, welcoming him when he was there and missing him when he wasn't. But what was the point? Ah well. We all have scars that never really heal. I just drink a little toast to him now and then and pray he's warm and safe.

Seems like you missed the point alittle but, might get it now. This is a song about sex addiction, not just being unfaithful. Being married to a sex addict (now divorced), it was so hard to understand what and why he did the stuff that he did. This song explain how difficult it was for my ex because he wanted to stop. He promised to stop. He just couldn’t stop. And there wasn’t enough marriage counseling to keep us together. 💕 luckily I am remarried (going on 13 years now) to an amazing man. I don’t cry anymore. Sex addiction is a very difficult (and taboo) subject to talk about, so we keep everything internalized.

Man I see a lot of regret in your reaction. I think all of us have had it to an extent. Many of the newcomers to country seem to talk about the emotion that it invokes, usually happiness or fond remembrance, but a song arranged like this, sung by a voice like that, covering what it does...it’s one of the tougher songs to get through if you’ve been in that spot, on either side, but it’s still a great song.
