Weirdly enough, my favorite Peter Parker is Peter B. from ISTV. Man is just so relatable and is one of the most interesting iteration of Spiderman. To see a Spiderman that has been Spiderman for far too long that he's even gotten tired of the Uncle Ben quote is so interesting. And despite that, he still does his duty as Spiderman.

@@thehumanity0we kinda did, Spider-Pine (yk who I mean) who dies near the start of that film in Miles’ universe seemed almost identical to Peter B, except he died while still being fairly young. So, Peter B likely had many of his experiences plus a lot more, to the point where he stagnated rather than dying during what were probably his peak years.
@thehumanity08 ай бұрын
@@m.cproductions3671 Maybe, but it seemed like original Peter Parker was a lot more perfect and popular. Peter B. Parker, even in the earlier part of his story, seemed to always struggle, apparently "made bad money choices" and never seemed to have it easy. It makes him a more relatable Spider-man, which incidentally makes him an even funnier version of the hero due to all his faults in real life and bad luck on the job.

It's his moment to become the hero instead of being feared as a vigilante. Tbh a sequel movie has to live up to a huge task of matching the pacing and tone of the movie. This movie was the best take on batman as a character. Nolan trilogy did something completely different as a film, it was more of a rounded approach the character of batman. The villains added more to the films than the MC. But Pattinson batman was just iconic and to the point comic book batman. The brooding and dark modern crime noir that made batman cool again. I'm not hating on the Nolan trilogy either, I love those films. But they didn't get the batman right at times, they focused more on bruce wayne.

Agents of Shield is actually pretty good. I can see why from the outside it might look like a really bad show but it's solid. Most of the writing is good, the main cast acting is good and the character development is good. Some of the effects aren't very good, and there's a few forgettable characters that find their way into the main cast, but overall it's a good show. Canonically, it's irrelevant in the MCU, so you have to watch it as a standalone, but even for that purpose, it's pretty good.

You need to rewatch Tennet Doctor from beginning to end. Because his doctor is absolutely someone who’s been plagued with the memories of a 900 year old time traveler, and it manifests in anger and his willingness to break rules he previously held sacred of it means saving the non aggressor in whatever situation he’s in. Also the whole point of his relationship with Rose was to demonstrate why he shouldn’t have a relationship with a companion. Because the blooming of their relationship inadvertently lead to her being trapped in the alternate universe. The whole point was “oh this was a real gut punch, we definitely can’t go through that again.”

Respectfully, the thing you miss about Blade's influence is the executives. Fans will blame the execs for getting involved and screwing things up, but rarely give credit when their response pans out well for the fans. Blade justified the budget for X-Men and Spider-man. Those two, in turn, justified the budgets and greenlights on a lot of other films. At the end of the day, it's those three films together that got us this current never-ending generation of superhero films.

@platinum22638 ай бұрын
yeah, i think Marcus' points towards *why* he doesn't like Tennant are valid, but they're both kind of out of his control, and didn't take away from the phenomenal product that era of the Doctor made. you can criticise the fact David was never made to behave like he was really immortal all the time, and you can criticise the fact that he was allowed to have a relationship with his companion (and even how that affected his situation and expectations with the rest of his companions from then on), and it'd be valid. but the writing was still fantastic, it was a direct step up from Eccleston on basically all fronts, and a couple of episodes and themes are directed towards David's situation as an aging time lord, which Marcus should like. obviously it wasn't harked on as much as Matt Smith, but half of Matt Smith's storyline is the fact he is basically dying, David didn't get that story, so he doesn't act like he did, and the story adheres instead to his guilt and anger, which is fine, because David did them *really, really well*

That was the most relatable part about him to me, that insane responsibility that came with his age he had to bear, denying him what he wanted. Honestly a Cosmonaut Doctor Who video would be interesting. Also I absolutely love your takes on the revival era, Eccleston and Capaldi are my favourite doctors as a Brit born in the early 2000's, Eccleston is great besides his short episode count (fuck the BBC for that) and Capaldi was fantastic but his episodes were 80% mid, but the good ones were fucking phenomenal. Petition for a Cosmonaut Doctor Who video, even if it's a short rant style video like that one section here, I'd love to hear more opinions on Doctor Who from someone I didn't know watched the show until today lol

@TheFirstBhau8 ай бұрын
I honestly think the ratio of mid episodes doesn't change too much (besides the overall solid lineup of S3 and S4 making Tennant's run a bit higher) in nuwho pre Chibby. But Capaldi had some really awful episodes. Eccleston, Tennant, and Smith would get 1-2 absolute garbage stories in their entire run and Capaldi would get multiple garbage episodes each season. Moreover it was very frontloaded, with Season 8 getting Forest of the Night and Kill the Moon and Season 9 getting Sleep No More. But when Capaldi episodes are amazing or even great, they hit hard not just because Capaldi is a fantastic actor but because that era as a whole imo deals with more complex themes.

THANK YOU FOR THE POSTER TANGENT I’ve been saying for years especially how poster design for superhero movies has just been so over saturated and repetitive. People have told me that I’m being a party pooper and that it’s not something so deep but as someone who appreciates good movie posters and is currently pursuing a graphic design degree, it angers and frustrates me. I feel it’s not even the designers faults its the companies for rushing and forcing every poster to be the same and basically go off a check list rather than genuine design.
@PKOve8 ай бұрын
Please enlighten us on what you expect from a good movie poster! What do you mean with "genuine design"?
@indiesoku8 ай бұрын
@@PKOve When I mean genuine design I mean how the designers behind the poster understand the movie it is that they’re trying to market, and they do so in a fun way. The best movie posters out there are the most simplistic ones if you think about it. “Jaws” is a textbook example of a great and iconic poster, but there’s also others like “airplane!” or even the first tobey spider man poster from 2002 where it’s him crawling on the window. The best designers for these posters understand that less is more. When less is used, it builds anticipation and excitement within people who the posters, as opposed to forty different pngs of all the superheroes slapped together looking different directions(infinity way, homecoming, etc) But the thing is collage posters can be done right. Look at the older Star Wars posters. Those posters work because each of the different elements are connected together physically, and the use of color feels balanced and cohesive. But the newer posters? The problem is that they simply don’t feel cohesive. Even worse, they feel overwhelming. Take the black panther poster for example. Tchalia is staring forward, killmonger is looking another direction, and Andy serkis is just smiling there looking like he doesn’t know what’s going on. It just doesn’t feel like the kind of poster that should represent this kind of movie. It’s a story about a king reclaiming his throne and he gets a mediocre poster like this? I think a more effective poster would be of him standing above a hill and looking over wakanda. It’s simple but exciting too. Like I said before, it builds anticipation just seeing him watch over the city like he’s about to fight and save everyone. The worst part is that, like I said in the other comment, it’s not the designers fault, it’s the companies and executives. I bet many of these designers have really great ideas for posters, but companies like Disney and Warner Bros. care more about getting a poster done as fast as possible and making a profit by rushing these designers and setting a checklist to make a generic poster. Before you call me an old man or whatever either, just know I’m 19, barely a young adult. I’ve been passionate about this stuff way before that ever since I got into design. To many people they’re just posters, but to some, including myself, they’re special. It’s another form of art. General audiences don’t care and when they see these posters at the movies all it’ll generate is a “oh that’s cool” and then forget about about it once the movie starts. Maybe I’m being silly, but this is just something I care a lot about. Genuine design to me is design that simply had love and care put into it. Yeah it’s their jobs to design it and they get paid, but graphic design is a job that can be fun. Some of the best designs in pop culture came from designers who love what they do( the ghostbusters logo, Jurassic park, the MTV logo, the google logo variations, etc) I’ve accepted that posters won’t be as cool now as they were before I was alive or when I grew up, so it feels nice hearing Marcus bring this up knowing I wasn’t the only one.
@PKOve8 ай бұрын

Season 1 can be a little hit or miss, but it had some pretty unexpected plot twists and pretty cool tie-ins with the MCU movies (although those were really one-sided and became fewer and fewer, since the movies just pretend this show doesn't exist).
